Wow, no sooner is the Samsung D980 DuoS (Dual-Sim, touch-screen 5mp but no 3G) announced, and Mobilefun here in the UK already have their initial stock of them!

Happy belated birthday jmash

nice b&w photo again wanqs

Posted by amawanqa
Thanks, boet. Ya, uploading all the holiday P1i pics here instead of in the P1i pic thread helps to keep this thread 'ticking over' too.

Posted by HOBBS
Love the b&w archway pic.can picture it as an album cover with the band strategically placed at the foot of it.Great stuff.

Posted by EMS06
The Citusdal pic is lovely. Beaufully rendered!
I'm wondering what firmware you are on cause I can clearly see the green tint on mine.

Posted by Kryptik
I like that archway pic too, Wanqa.

Have yourselves a superb weekend, folks, don't do anything i wouldn't do.

Posted by JC08
I bought myself one of those little shox speakers for my phone! I must say its quite good, great sound quality and loud!

Posted by Kryptik
That's great JC, i've wondered about how loud they are. Where are they sold?

I came across a nifty lil pc app called Virtual Plastic Surgery Software, which allows you to morph images, much the same as FaceWarp does on the S60 platform. Did a little touchup of my buddy Mark's features, lol

Posted by JC08
@ kryptic, I bought mine at game! Its very good for its size!

Posted by amawanqa
Thanks guys.
Ya I've uploaded it to the esato photo gallery as well now.

@ Kryptik:
LOL, nice 'enhancements' employed there with those before n' after pics there, boet. Extreme Makeover Kryptik Edition?

How's this for a cheap 3mp cellphone: Samsung's li'l E590 now just £29.95 (approx R450!) here at the UK's CPW:

@ Ems:
I updated the firmware myself using SEUS.
It'll definitely make a difference. it's also a very, very stable firmware. Firmware: R9J005.

@ G-Man:
Thanks. Hardly had time to 'esato' yesterday; we were out n' about after work until early this morning too, LOL.

hi guys

Posted by Falcon786
Hey tranced how's it going?lol you should tell that dol to wear his earphones over his EARS!
Wanqa you laughing at the a5 without a plate dam you'll be LOL the whole day in my town because like 20 percent of cars here dont have plates.the owners say plates mess up the look, but i dont know how the cops let them get away ?

if you think those are his ears your wrong. that's part of the costume too

@ama: great pics. forgot it to mention in my last post.

@da wanqsta: Nice pics of home, especially the one taken on the approach to Kommetjie- can't remember the name of the road.

@kryptik: Those pictures are spectacular and also quite scary...my former neighbourhood(Sea Point) was also battered by storms these last couple of weeks and the pics that people sent me were crazy.

Life in the Philippines is very boring, I'm at an internet cafe...cable tv went out this afternoon and I couldn't be bothered about calling the cable guy because it would be a waste of airtime. Next time you complain about the "piss poor" service in SA, think about folk in places like Manila who have it much worse.

Posted by amawanqa
@ tranced:
That's my biker-teddy! LOL, nice pics, mate.

@ Falcon:
Yeah I noticed a few cars without number plates while driving around Gauteng; I was asking myself the same question about what the cops do about it. Is it a case that there's a greater chance of getting a speeding fine worth far more money than a lesser (?) chance of being pulled over and being fined less for not having a number plate on the back?

@ da brixsta:
So good to see you in these parts again, mfowethu. Glad you're OK. Yeah I still have a good few holiday pics to upload, including places like False Bay, Camps Bay, etc etc. A few P1i pics each day helps to keep the thread ticking over.

@ Ems:
Had a chance to update the firmware yet?

@ Gucci:
Yoohooo...where are you? LOL, hope you're not too 'tender' today, boet.

Hey everyone, Wow what a nite. Had our MD at Moyo Zoo Lake. Went very well, had a blast, left the MD at mid-night and drove to the after party in Outer Limits in Broadacres. And from there things went a little sour when an hour and a half after getting there we are told they are closing thanx to miscommunication between the person who organised and the club owner. So we went club hopping between Tanzanite, Vacca Matta, Tokyo Sky, and Ruby Blue which was closed. We did all that between 1:30am -3am then went to a friend's house had the after after party til 4:30am and then went to a 24hour Pizza place i thnk its called Adomino or something like that lol ate there then went to a friends to sleep over, got to bed at like 5:30am had to wake up this morning at 8am to go to Matric Breakfast at Capuccino in North Gate, and slept the rest of the day, just got home 20mins ago, don't know how on earth we'll be able to stay awake in class tomorrow. Lol all the times ive mentiond are very rough estimates, we did some crazy things on the road whilest club hopping. Our friend's dad borrowd us his new Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 for the weekend, and lets just say we left a lot of those cocky GTI and S3 drivers in our dust
Anyway was sweet, now cant wait till Matric Vac . . . . .just 3 more months to go!

Well, I went to SEUS today and was met with the message that I have the latest software but I went ahead and updated anyway. It appears I do indeed have the latest firmware cause it still is the same as before after the update- R9K9009. The green is still there as well.

Posted by amawanqa
Eish boet; I'm at a loss then as to how the green n' magenta tint is hardly an issue on my P1i as it used to be on the original firmware; either it's the camera module or firmware...or maybe I need to make another appointment at Specsavers, LOL.

Eish, Wanqs, I don't know what to do anymore. I love my Nikon D200 but I thought maybe this phone could be a substitute. Anyway, I'll try and research some more as to what one can do cause a number of people are saying the green tint is gone. Also, this phone is an 08W28 which means it is newer so it shouldn't give me a problem in that area. I guess it's just bad luck.

Posted by amawanqa
Dunno, boet.
The mrs has normally got her li'l Olympus (nothing like that awesome Nikon D200 of yours, wow what an excellent camera BTW) in her handbag and it comes in handy if I'm battling n' faffing with the P1i's cam settings too much, LOL.

I think I'm going to wait to see what the 8mp cellphone cam shoot-outs reveal, not that pixel number is the be-all and end-all of all things as we know, processors and lenses having their own 'say' in the matter etc, but yeah, I look forward to the day that cellphone cameras are able to take pics that are good enough to not consider having a stand-alone camera as a nearby back-up.
We know how cellphone cams have come on in leaps and bounds since those bril 2mp ones in the K750i and W800i/W810i from some 3 years ago, so let's see what's in store towards the end of the year. I'm wondering when and what the Dark Side is going to offer, as regards 8mp phones..

Now this next P1i pic was taken at Latimer's Landing, by the East London harbour. You just know it's a SA boat... 'cos look what's attached to the back/ stern of the it!
@ Hobbster:
Check the name of the boat. Looks like the owner's quite a big fan of Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' album..

Looks like the road as you're coming from Hout Bay, approximately around Llandudno approaching Camps Bay. Its a really nice and windy road would love to drive it with powerful sports car.

Ya, spot-on, brixsta. It is indeed a great road. Wouldn't want to lose control of that powerful sports car and literally go flying into Llandudno down on the left, LOL. .
