@GUCCI
Thanks. To be honest with you, I never was a fan of the W890. You could say I was forced into it this time. The E90 is/was the phone I love(ed) except the size. The 6220 was actually quite nice, I almost took it but it felt rather chubby in my hand. Then there was the N81 which fared very badly in that it was too plasticky for me and the fact that it is a slider, I hate sliders! The thing is since I've been using the Moto V8 I'm struggling with thicker phones. The W890 has all my pre-requisites- excellent build quality, HSDPA, slim with a surprisingly good standby time ( pleasant surprise that one) and good call quality.
@wanqs
Once again, amazing photos!

Funny thing is I don't use the phone for taking snaps, I use my Nikon for that. I know they come in handy at times since one never carries the camera all the time like a cellphone but I never seem to find myself in that situation.
Other than that, this phone has really surprised me. It's actually a good thing that I bought it now as it has been around for a while and is stable. Too early to tell but so far so good.

Woohoo, ive hacked my phone using Drakkarius, thanks to my s60 mentor gucci for some tips along the way!
Posted by HOBBS
drakkarious is a must.well done gucci for mentoring the young 'un.
what contract are you on EM? you turning down the E90 just because its too big seems a bit to much for me.just curious
Posted by gola
EM, yeah I would prefer a dedicated camera as well. So I guess the w890 is the perfect phone for you
Big ups to JC and GUCCI for the teamwork

Talk 500.
I still have my old P910i and it feels quite big these days. Also as I mentioned, the Symbian Foundation has contributed in that I don't know what is going to happen with the current systems. Sure, they said it will be backward compatible with S60 but I'd rather not take my chances.
So, as you can see I have a wide selection in terms of phones. The nicest phone that I tried was the P1 which was nice and small.

Thats great bro!! Congrats boet!
EMS
Thats cool. Im actualy busy playing on my dad's E90 right now and ye after a while of use the size may get to you if you're used to a phone like a V8. I love this machine though, its like a tank, my lil N81 feels like a Mini Cooper whereas E90 is like a luxury top Merc Sclass. Dam you're on a Talk500? If i were you i'd have taken a N95-8gb or HTC TOUCH DIAMOND.
Gola
We're waiting for you to join S60 now. . . . .peer pressure

@HOBBS
The E90 is a Mercedes S class! The first time I played with it and the first time I considered it was January this year. I was blown away by it and hoped SE would bring something as good as that, so I waited and waited, waited some and started praying- to no avail :c. When they announced the X1 I thought maybe I could love the X1's windows os and for a while I convinced myself that I will learn to like it.
Then I started hoping for a UIQ version and that never came. Then the Symbian Foundation completely changed my mind. As for the N95, I hate the standard sliders (N95, W910, Innov8) as opposed to the X1, Touch Pro type of sliders. At least they gave me a R4000 voucher nfor the phone being so cheap.
Don't worry, in 2010 I'll be using the same OS as you, hopefully, seeing that it will encompass SE and Nokia

Ive been playing on this E90 for the past 2hours now, im bored already, Eseries will always be Eseries, its fantastic but i prefer the N95, internaly the N82, N93, N93i,N95-8gb, and E90 are the same thing. I can see why Dogmann shows off about his E90, although its not as amazing as he makes it out to be. Ye Symbian Foundation worries me a bit as well, my next upgrade is in 2010!
Where do you live by the way? I didnt know you were from SA.
Hobbs
Boet be glad you chose the N95-8gb, the E90 is so not for multimedia, well except for videos, but the 2.8inch screen of the N95-2 is good enough, unless you wanted a QWERTY keyboard otherwise your N95-2 is close enough. E90s music player and gallery are so mediocre, and the phone itself just screams out Business!, Boring!, Eseries!!!. Im a bit disappointed actualy, i think i expected more Nseries type of things thrown in as well.

@gucci, 8gig is gr8. Dude why dont u look at a 4gig? I saw them at cna for like 300bucks. Its not to bad,
@gola, i could have put more stuff on it. Right now that 3gigs is just music. I could have put atleast 5 of music. But on i wont listenin 2 the other 2 gigs so its a waste. And on monday i think ill update my firmware. So there is no reall point in tryin 2 fill up the card.

The C905 is not bad at all, i'm afraid it might be too expensive for me
Anyway, what does the n79 have compared to the C905 besides fm transmitter and S60?
Availability dates in SA is also also a factor and i'd rather get a new phone after the final exams, for obvious reasons

By the way if u ever buying yourself a power supply make sure its compatible with your motherboard.I just spent R300 on a Gigabyte Superb 460W and when I tried to install it doesnt fit.24pins it does have and my motherboard 20pins.Hello.Why didnt the damn salesman at ComputerMANIA bother to ask me that very important question.Taking it back this morning.Very disappointed.Was going to spend last night putting my tunes on my phone with all my album art I downloaded.Arsehole.

Nah Gucci I think that was temporary.Where I am its pissing down cats and dogs,hell why not throw in a goat.I love my N95-2 Gucci.Im tending to say that to myself on a daily basis.It truly is a spectacular phone.Think I would have been disappointed with the E90 if I had got one because of the complications of that big screen and getting apps and the like.
@EM Just enjoy your new baby to the fullest.Theres a reason for everything and the decisions we make.
@Wanga Requesting a pic of the filmshoot I set up for you with the stranded ships and shipwrecked sailiors jumping overboard.
Problem solved regarding power supply.They would have replaced it but showed me how to connect it with just leaving four pins hanging over the side.Us non computer type are just so dumb is what I got from the Computer Mania staff.Screw them.I aint avoiding warranty by been a Mc Gyver.And they should have enquired before making a sale I should think.
Gucci by the look of things,you aibnt going to no Robben Island today bud.

Thanks! By the way, I was actually past my upgrade by a year now, waiting for that something special. The iphone? Naaah, it is a nice looking phone with the best touch UI and music player and that's just about it. I still think the E90 was the the one only if it was smaller. Actually the X1 is perfect, well almost, the darn WM on it! Now that I've had time to play with the W890 I will struggle with bigger phones, even the V8 is beginning to look kind of big.
@GUCCI
I'm from Mpumalanga or should I say Mapumalanga

Take the G810!!! That phone is a machine. Its basically a N95-8GB with Optical Zoom, Audio chip, amplifier, 2.6inch screen, newer TI OMAP chipset with graphics acceleration, video accelerator, same battery as N95-8GB, card slot, same S60 platform as N95, loads of RAM, HSDPA, Wifi, great build quality like the G800,etc etc. . .
