Its amazing how many S60/Nseries Blog/Web sites there are out there, ive bookmarked so many, my favourites being:
WOM World
Darla Mack
AAS
and Talk About Nseries.
Darla Mack is a great one, the blog is named after its creator who's a woman who loves S60 phones, NOKIA even gave her a Pink N95 when the N95-1 was released as a gift.
Her posts realy make for a good read. Sucks ive finished my data bundle, i wanted to listen to that N78 vs. N82 Podcast

Yey

I missed the awards ! ! !

Congratualtion Wanqs ...

I love S60 Gucci. There is so much of everything. You are constantly been kept on your toes and if you dont keep your eyes open you can be left behind.I went from a 6680 where I pretty much knew everything there was to know about S60 to UIQ3 for just over a year, and when I returned, the amount of things that had changed within that year was extremely overwhelming.Im still trying to get to grips with everything there is on offer.

Same here, really overwellemd by how much there is for it. Im waiting for the Skyfire web browser to be available now, should be a nice web browser going by how much hype there is around it lol.

Posted by HOBBS
The AAS guy who reviewed the Skyfire browser said it was faster than Operamini,so Im also keen to check it out.Hopefully its a nice competitor cause variety is always good.By the way,Darla Mack has a nice blog. Its bookmarked and I will pop in there regularly to hear her thoughts. Thanks 4 the heads up.

Wow, that's a beautiful phone, bro!!! As has been mentioned, ipmart is the place to be. I'd also suggest getting an account at Prodigits, visiting the S60 forum and then joining Jscott's wapgroup. Whichever S60 app you're hunting, that's where it'll be, all in one convenient location

Posted by GUCCI.011
Yep,i prefer Prodigits. Its a Wap site in XHTML, very low on data consumption yet has everything and a very active S60forum. Its the only reason i use Opera8.65 lol.

Why didnt you guys warn me, so much to explore and I have no time at all atm! Some early impressions on n78, great battery life, quite stable, gr8 sound quality, fm transmitter works a treat, keypad a bit crammed for my big fingers, but furthur I have little 2 no probs with it atm! Im very happy bout my choice!

So long, East London. See you in an hour & a half, Jo'burg...

I agree with Gucci, ipmart is great from a desktop browser, but it's a bit heavy going if you're browsing via a mobile device, whereas Pro is a walk in the park via your phone.

Wanqa, have a fab time in Jozi, boet Happy landings, and remember to keep the windows cranked up, and all forms of temptation like phones and the like securely hidden from view. Not that i need to tell you these things... lol

Posted by HOBBS
I like the sound of that FM Transmitter.I want one too lol

Enjoy Jozi Wangs.Im just glad to be out of there.Ek Haaaaat dae plek lol

Posted by amawanqa
@ Kryptik & Hobbster: Thanks guys. Quite a nice, mild evening in Jozi. HUGE Nokia E51 ad in the domestic flights terminal. Loads of roadworks on the highways here, as extra lanes are being built in preparation for 2010. Can't say I like Jo'burg either; another rat-race with no sea and the walled-in suburbs to help protect the inhabitants and their possessions are far from inviting... Oh well, good friends live in Jozi and that's why we're here.

Joburg isn't quite as bad as we sometimes think, by and large it's only a handful of miscreants who give a place a bad name. I once picked up a bad case of amnesia there... and other things i can't remember

Wanqa
Welcome to Gangsters Paradise boet! as you get here im leaving for CPT tomorrow lol
Where are you staying?
Kryptik
Very true,lol
Gola
Nice one bro,pic of the day! any idea of to whom the Lambo belongs to? Mr. L .Jackson maybe?

Posted by gola
Welcome Wanqs, hope you enjoy your stay
GUCCI, lol, i don't have a clue. It was on the N12 leaving JHB, i don't know where to. I forgot to look at the number plate of the truck 'cos i was too excited trying to take pics I actually asked my sister to slow down on the double lane as we passed it, so that caused a bit of traffic, but that didn't stop the rest of the other cars' occupants from doing the same thing

Posted by HOBBS
WOM World is another good site. Thanks Gucciman.Keep the good ones coming.

I need to get my hands on an I-phone so I can decide for myself if this hype is valid or not.Everywhere you go now when browsing you either get I-phone lovers marvelling at the evolution of the mobile phone to 'everyone else saying' its not all that.I got to see for myself.

Hey,who knows,I have another contract expiring in 7 months.I might just be one of those people walking around with the I-phone 3G-2 32GB version. You never know.

Posted by HOBBS
Just been looking at some Xperia images on Google and I cant help thinking how different Sony Ericssons reputation would be if they could have released that beauty around the same time of the N95-8gb,E90,I-phone,HTC Touch,TYTNII ect ect Its looks fantastic.

Posted by GUCCI.011
Gola
cant blame you or them, its not everyday that you see a Lambo on its way to delivery, or atleast thats what it looks like.
Hobbs
Ye WOM World is great, they seem to have something new nearly everyday. Im also getting sick of this iPhone hype, even in strictly symbian forums, you can't get away from it. Thats true, Xperia is a beauty and with one amazing spec sheet, one thing SE have always been good at is showing that even if a phone is highly functional it can still look beautiful eg. P910, P990, P1, W960, M600. I realy hope SE dont mess it up, im hoping to get one in like. . . .a years time lol!
My Dad got an E90! Retiring his E61 and gave the TyTN to my lil 12yearold bro since his W300 was attacked by a friends dog! LOL

Posted by HOBBS
Wow Gucci.Your family have some really cool phones there bud.Ask your father if he'd like to swop with me lol Maybe you should throw your N81 at the neighbours dog and hope he chomps it and then your dad can give you he's E90 and get a N96.

Posted by GUCCI.011

Ye, IN MY DREAMS that would happen!

Forgot to mention my Grandma just joined the S60 wagon, she got a E51 lol i was showing her to do all the basics because unfortunetly thats all its going to be doing. Atleast i can say my dad's E90 will be used heavily for Web browsing, E-Mails, pictures, document reading/editing, a little music and then the basics.
All
One more sleep and il be on the blue train, two more sleeps and i'll be in Cape Town, Cant wait!!

Nice one GUCCI, enjoy the trip man

Wow, I just finished reading the film edition of the book titled "Faith like potatoes" by Angus Buchan, The story of a farmer who risked everything for God

Beautiful book i must say.
It's amazing how a whole lot of profound miracles happened to this simple man all because of his faith, to think that the whole world is not being told is saddening.
I guess that's why he wrote this book and a movie was released. The first edition was published several years ago.
I don't want to spoil it for you guys and tell you the story, but I do urge you to have a look at it. I feel like it's one of those books everyone should read, i mean i bearly read books.

Mini review
Now I have to watch the movie!

Thanx bro.
Wanqa
Thats great boet, did you see all those huge 1acre garden houses in Midrand in the estates? You were near by me,my dads house is in Bedfordview. Thanx boet will do.

Posted by Kryptik
That's an excellent book, Gola, quite profound in fact.

Gucci, nice going there buddy, the Symbian revolution rolls on in your family! It's quite amazing how quickly people become accustomed to the versatility of a Symbian handset once they start playing around on it. I set up gmail and some IM apps on my old 6630 so that my mom could keep in touch with my sister by some means other than telephone calls, and things have now reached the stage where she wants me to set up Fring for her as well, so that she can receive Skype calls, lol. Ja nee, technology catches up with all of us eventually...

Have a great weekend, folks

That is very true, my mum has now set up e-mail, and even uses the Web browser to check news etc. . .on her htc s710.
All
Now on board and slowly making our way to Kimberley, and theres full signal, i want to upload some shots i took of my suite, this thing is literaly a moving hotel, in each suite you have two couches, a desk, a TV with VCR/DVD player, the 1st channel on the TV is a front camera view of the track we're traveling on so if you see danger approaching you can uhmm. . . .plan ahead , a butler who serves ONLY you, a bathroom with the usual, and all other things you find in a normal hotel room. Thank goodness i brought sum DVDs, il be watching 300 and Knocked Up tonight LOL.

Posted by amawanqa
Gucci, you lucky bugger, LOL.
Look forward to checking out all the K850i pics later.

@ gola:
Ya the mrs was watching the DVD version of Faith Like Potatoes a few weeks back. Isn't the main actor in that also acting as Hansie in the forthcoming 'Hansie' movie?

Also finally got round to watching Tsotsi on the plane to CT..

EDIT: @ Gucci, Ya we drove past Bedfordview, but I didn't see those 1-acre mansions on the route we took.

@ PK: Hi mate. I use a few good travel agents in the UK who usually get me excellent prices when I visit my native SA. I have all their details saved on my PC in the UK. I'll be returning to the UK on Tuesday, so I'll PM you all the details etc on either Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. :-)

Posted by amawanqa
No worries, mate. We're in Jo'burg at the moment. BTW, we'll be in your neck of the woods on 20th December; Blackburn Rovers have a home match, we've got a very good contact at Ewood Park and we'll be staying over in Blackburn for a night or two.

GUCCI, LG is shaping up to be one heck of a competition that's for sure. Have you arrived yet?
HEY Peterkay-Don't forget to bring all your protos

Posted by GUCCI.011

Ya thats true, those video specs are even better than the N95's. As far as i know LG is now in 3rd place in terms of marketshare very close behind SAMSUNG, whilest SE is in 5th, LG has realy proven to be a good competitor, i think NOKIA should actualy be worried about both LG and SAMSUNG catching up.
Its now 3:20am lol, we are in the Eastern Cape as far as i can tell. Earlier between 9 and 12 mid-night we were in a part of the Northern Cape where there was absolutely no signal, i slept from 9 till 10mins ago i woke up lol. We only arrive in Cape Town like after 11am. So still got a long way to go. Ive now got EDGE so web browsing is sweet and will keep me occupied till breakfast lol!
PK
Bring me a C905 proto plz! lol

@ PK:
Definitely the August Summer holidays, mate. The weather's brilliant, SA schools are not on holiday at the same time, etc.
Yup, it ain't the cheapest destination to fly to; it's an 11-odd hour flight.

Close call there hey, i had installed a font that had been uploaded by one of the users of the Pro S60 Forum. When booting up phone it would get stuck on the NOKIA white screen then crash, had to remove my mem card and soft format my phone memory. Ive stopped downloading Fonts since then lol.
Im in your hood now boet, we staying at Atlantic Beach Golf Estate or something like that, just outside Blaauwberg, busy making our way there now, we were greeted by rainy weather lol.
Gota love Cape Town.
