Welcome back, Wanqa. We ordered the cheery weather especially for your arrival
Thanx for the tip, Hobbs, i'm browsing Mobile9 right now, they have some pretty neat black and brushed metal themes
I'm finally starting to get used to the N73's keypad... it's been quite a mission, kept hitting the red key and exiting applications whilst typing, until i installed a very handy little app called by the astoundingly descriptive name of NoRedKeyClose
Do any of you guys use Fring? Set up my Skype account the other day, and remembered that Fring supports Skype, amongst others

I SAW THE N96 TODAY AT SCHOOL, ONE OF THE STUDENTS HAD IT

@ wanqa, welkom terug in Suid-Afrika!
@ gola, how on earth did he get it?

Welcome back Wanqa!!:-)
Hobbs
Its great, ive been using it as my main phone this week, it amazes how much the SE UI has improved, a lot of 's60 like' apps like MobyExplorer which is a lot like X-Plore, MobilePDF, and DocViewer which are like Adobe PDF and Quickoffice. And im loving all the litte cool things SE have put in, like when booting up the phone theres a nice lil vibration followed by a Blue ring of light around the D-pad,and around the camera lense, same thing happens when booting the camera and the nice sound of the automatic camera lense opening and shutting as wel as the little 'pop' sound the Xenon flash makes when shooting a pic,HSDPA via OperaMini is insanely fast i wonder how much better it is for those paying extra for 3.6mbps, 1.8mbps is already more than fast enough, and let me not even start on the amazing screen and flash themes.
Gola.
WOW i wonder how he got it. You must try get your hands on it bro
JC and Gola
What website do you get your phone's apps from? I found this: http://user.wap3.org it has a few nice ones.

true true.
but it is not so common seeing a student with an ultimate phone

Don't be so sure. Theres around 4people at my school with an N95-8GB, 3 with N82, and quite a lot with N95s,including primary school kids, ive seen a few kids in the primary school with SE K800s and a grade8 with an i-Mate Jamin and another with a SE P990, I blame MTN and their great pricing of phones.

but n96 was announced these days(recently), wasnt it?
Posted by gola
Yip, definitely sure, it's not the n81 ether and those no way i can mistake that humongous 2,8" screen and the two way direction slide thingy...I was about one and half metres away, it was truly a sight ladies and gentlemen.

Thanks for all the (prodigal?) welcomes, guys.
@ gola:
Hmm, perhaps the oke's dad/relative is a beta tester for one of the networks, like celltech is.
Either he then took the handset on the quiet or his dad/relative breached some serious levels of work conditions there by allowing him to show it off. (the former possibility sounds more plausible though, but I'm simply speculating of course).
Just a thought..

@ Hobbster:
Let me know what's your M.O. for the next week boet, if you can, as the in-laws have a whole buncha stuff planned out right up until we leave for East London next Thursday. We're already gonna be away the whole weekend to some resort near the gateway of the Cederberge, i.e. Citrusdal, plus there's the boat trip from Cape Point to the V&A Waterfront planned, then off to Paarl and Stellenbosch etc etc.
@ JC:
Will be posting the memory card off to you tomorrow, boet.

We might be leaving over the weekend Wangs if we can finish off some loose ends here first but I'll let you know if things change.Sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you bro.Hopefully this weather will turn soon and you can get some Cape Town sun.Hope you had a fab day today and just relaxed.
Just downloaded Nokia's Internet Radio to see whats its all about.Logged on through my Wlan connection to UK 1fm Trance and listened to about 35 seconds of that station.(awesome station by the way) Exited the app and then checked my LOG and to my suprise it had used 2.8mb's of data. Now that my friend makes listening to Internet radio an impossibility unless you have an unlimited data plan
Posted by JC08
@ ama thanks mate, will let you know when it arrives!

@Gucci OK dude, there are blogs out there covering the 'N95 8gb' but you wont find it using those words in your Google search toolbar. The key is to type in 'N-series blog' and there are blogs galore covering all models but most importantly my phone.Boy,do I miss my P1iblog and TheEvangelist.

Eish, what's with all the torrential downpours here in the Mother City?LOL.
Posted by HOBBS
Na.Not me Im afraid Kyle. But enjoy.
@Wangs- Its been like this for a couple of weeks now. This is nothing bud.2 weeks ago you would have cried, packed your bags and gone back home lol Hope you having a fantassssssstic day.
Wish I wasnt so up to my neck in work and had some free time to play
If you have a newspaper around, have a good look at the Property pages (which is normally a third of the newspaper) this weekend and tell me what you think of some of the prices these house are going for.Its a real education of what your home country is becoming.Rich getting richer, poor getting poorer.Hey Im sure if you had to sell your house back home and save a bit more you could most probably return and buy one of the above mentioned properties after doing the conversion. For instance I was born in Newlands Cape Town and you hardly find a house here anymore under 2 million even if its a semi detached two bedroom without much of a garden.Dont even get me started on the apartment prices.Dont know why Im talking about property to you, sometimes I just type without thought (which is what I think we should do more often, even if we step on each others toes every now and then)
Any way,get out and about as much as you can and make the most of the sights and sounds of the fairer Cape even if the weather is not allowing it.

@Wanga See buddy,Hobbs knows where the action is.Sea Drama.I'd thought you'd like like,so I staged the whole thing.Cost me an arm an a leg on actors and props it did, especially at such short notice.I thought its raining so consistently and Wangs is most probably stuck in-doors,what could I do to entertain him and thats when I came up with 'Sea Drama' Hope you enjoyed the show. lol
Congratulation Kryptoniteandday.

@gucci. Yeah those bro's were gud. I didnt see the rollerbladin last year. Im not sure if its still going. The skate boardin is gud. Specially the mega ramp. Its l8r insane. Did u see jake brown's wipe out last year? Fell 50feet to the flat. The doctor said 4 most ppl the chance of survivin a 30foot fall is like 60 percent. But a 45-50 foot fall. 9 out of 10 ppl wud survive it. He basically got up and walked away like 5 mins after. He only fractured his wrist. Some internal injuries. I cnt remember wat they were

Have you seen DogTown Kyle? Its about skateboarding and the guys who made it happen back in the day.Nice movie. Also saw the documentary a week ago called DogTown. It was nice seen the documentary after seen the movie.

Wow, that one trawler probably did first report problems with the engine conking out, around Melkbos. The strong current eventually beached the thing all-too-close to the first beached trawler.
The maddest part of the whole thing ws when they started jumping off the ship, once it grounded itself. To my horror and amazement, some of the sailors were dof enough to jump off into the sea BETWEEN the ship and oncoming waves on the starboard side of the ship, not the port side which was closer to the beach! The result? Some awful-looking body-slams into the ship's hull as the waves promptly took the 2 or 3 wallies who jumped off on the 'wrong side', and re-united them with this ship in a rather unceremonious way...
Fortunately, they were all seemingly in one piece... and thank God the paramedics were there already; being slammed into the propellor coulda been a whole lot nastier, even if the engine was kaput...
Will try post some pics, but I'm having hassles with the father-in-law's browser on this laptop. Will post them when we get back to the 'Yhu Kei' if I can't get round the browser settings. I did try the imageshack route, clicked the resizing option and the picture still came out full-size on esato. I promptly deleted that post, before laffen starts spitting snakes about bandwidth n' stuff, LOL. One way or another, I'll get 'em posted.
In 2 days in SA, I've already managed to take some really bril cellphone pics. bring it on!

Had a lekker meal at the Santa Ana Spur by the V&A Waterfront tonight, Hobbster.
Walked into a takkie shop there called Athletes Foot (LOL). A dude there commented on the West Ham united shirt i was wearing. We got talking. Ends up he used to attend the school just down the road from where I currently teach in the UK and he knew the area so well; he even asked me about the head teacher at his former primary school, who I knew as well. Small(er) world, hey?
Ya, and just in case I still wasn't sure I was actually in SA, I noticed a shop downstairs called 'Naartjie'.. LOL.
@ Unkl Kryptik:
Congrats, boet!
No major medical costs to endure for them as well, sigh.. the good ol' NHS. Ya, tax may be 17.5 % here, but then one doesn't pay to see the quack, there's no school fees required for state schools etc.

Imagine the pics you could have taken if one of the above mentioned 'Wallies' had got caught up in amongst the propeller blades. That would have been something hey.lol
Sounds like you having fun Wangs.Where you going to be tomorrow? Let me know and I can maybe stage another drama for you.Maybe a mountaintop suicide jump,a shark mauling,a city centre shootout,a helicopter plunging into the sea.Any request? Just let me know so I can book the actors and props again.lol

LMAO @ Hobbster. Saw one of the cops there with a P1i too. Damn internet is playing up here now, so it's back to the P1i. Tomorrow we're off to some hot springs resort near Citrusdal. Will be there until Sunday night. Dunno what kind of reception there'll be up there though...

Cool bro. Dam it i just tried to update my N81's FW, yet it still says V11 is the latest, agh anyway V11 is still fine.
Thanx guys @ Hobbs and JC
Using my N81 again reminds me why i like smartphones so much more than java ones, was great to use the K850 as my main phone though but the N81 is now my main phone again, K850 will always be close by for pic taking and listening to music via loudspeaker though.
