Hi Abubakar, hope you're doing well buddy. I agree, it can be a tricky thing, waiting too long, yet it's not without merit , especially where maybe studies, family commitments etc are concerned.

macro b&w P1i pic, using the new firmware:

Some changes to the cam since the update; seems far less prone to the dreaded green tint (obviously not evident in the above pic, LOL ), but I haven't taken too many low-lit pics yet to see how much of a difference there is.
Don't like some of the new cam setting 'menu' looks, and the scrollwheel now readily activates the zoom instead of the light setting, but these are minor irritations.
If there's an improvement to cam performance, which I'll be able to ascertain as I try the new cam f/w more and more, then I'm a happy camper.

Is the Wangs getting really excited? He's coming home (sounds of welcoming trumpets and bugels sound across the African plain.) "The King returns,The King returns" spreads from mouth to ear and the people of the Rainbow nation smile The children will sleep peaceful tonight.

RIGHT YOU ARE BOET!
I'm getting married in january,I would have loved to do it earlier but eish life's responsibilties etc would not allow it...

n95 pic macro mode.
I went hunting this weekend....shot five blesbok, was a rush lol and before hobbs calls me a murderer they were bred specifically for hunting on the reserve from a rapidly mutiplying herd.

Posted by HOBBS
Bred specifically for hunting.Wangs am i just been pathetic or does that just sound insane.Falcon as sung in that natural born killers soundtrack song-'You made my shitlist.'

@abu: im not 100% good regard the economy and my studies are not going to finish till ~3 years. my gf is studying medicine and you know that it isnt easy. things are getting a bit tough at my end, so i dont think it's a good idea atm.

we're just thinking about buying a car with our savings...

morning guys

@ Hobbster:
Ya we finished packing and weighing the luggage last night.; it's vrek-warm here today and I'm scheming how am I going to wear my jacket stuffed with small heavy pressies n' souvenirs tomorrow if the weather's like this? Sigh, all in the name of keeping to the 20kg-odd of luggage weight, hey?
LOL, I must look like one of those dodgy watch dealers that you see in the movies..

It still hasn't really hit home yet; methinks once we're in CT, I'll feel that our holiday really has started. Yeah, can't wait indeed, boet.

WRT hunting, my brother is so seriously into hunting. Before the law changed he and my late uncle had a whole arsenal of weaponry. He's still got his 30.06 hunting rifle for hunting, plus his Colt .45, Martini Henry rifle from the Boer War etc.
Let's just say we don't exactly see eye to eye on a lot of things...

Hi everyone, for those of ya'll who remember me. It's been a while since my last confession (post)...

I come seeking advice and guidance from the wiser ones. It's that time of the the year when I'm due for an upgrade at MTN. I currently have and love my W810i, and its still working perfectly, so I'll keep it as a backup.

What is the latest and greatest SE on the market? I'm clueless when it comes to these things. I just know that my next phone must also be a SE.

Any tips or suggestions from the audience?

Posted by tranced
what options do you have as an upgrade?

Posted by GUCCI.011
Medusa
I suggest looking at the G900 and K850.
Got my K850 on saturday and it has latest fw, im loving this lil device, its like an overpowered K750/W810, ive been using it as my main phone since yesterday.

Posted by medusa
Hi Tranced, Gucci.

@ Tranced, will have to go and see what they have and what I can get. Their website is not that great as they only show specials.

@ qucci, i like the G900. Will go after work to see what phones they have.

Thanks!

Theres a 5mp LG that I hear is quite good.lol

LOL Wanqa, maybe you should try to strap on an extra two or three made-in-Utopia Rolexes

Wrt hunting, i've gone on the odd hunt or two, but what really turns me off is the unethical type of hunter. They're the type who'd give any hobby/sport a bad name: indiscriminate shooting, needless wounding of animals, mixing liquor and firearms, littering all over the veld, etc. The worst is that many farmers are turning to game ranching because of economic circumstances, and some of them don't really care which type of hunter they allow on their properties, as long as the moola is right. Some of the game ranches here don't allow the killing of animals at all; instead, they allow hunters to dart certain animals which need to be tranquilized for either quarantine or medical purposes, as was recently done with a white rhino just up the road from us.

Medusa, at least you've the wisdom to ask about which phone to get next, unlike the mother of your nephew. Your sister sometimes makes me wonder whether she wasn't adopted Got herself the N73 a few months ago, doesn't understand much about the phone and doesn't want me to tweak it for her either Yesterday she complained about how slow it's become. I had a look, and discovered that she has nearly every photo, video and sound clip on the phone's memory instead of the memory card... and you know how snappy-happy she can be....

any boet around?

Posted by Falcon786
You know what guys as long as we do things civilised we dont have to go all touchy and hobbs saying ppl are on the shitlist etc.everything has it's time and place.when we go hunting we dont let the animal suffer and we dont kill and leave it.suprisingly we eat it so it's the same principal as you eating chicken or mutton or beef.actually it's hypocritical to look down on a hunter if you eat meat.but like kryptik said it's when ppl get out of hand that's when hunting is bad...heard of these american tourists etc that hunt leopards etc just as trophies now that's plain sick i'm suprised governments allow such needless killing of endangered animals.oh well money talks...

Posted by tranced
i know what you mean. why dont animals kill ppl and keep them as trophies as well?

hunting is what we used to do in the paaaaaaaaaaaaaaast. there wasnt another way. now we have farms and those things.

Posted by amawanqa
@ tranced:
LOL, how's your Monday been, boet?

Posted by HOBBS
You right Falcon but next time try not to get a rush when you shoot an animal. thats what pissed me off. go hunting by all means but dont share it here, for my sake please. i will always react even if its hypocritical that i eat meat.no hard feelings bro.

Posted by tranced
@amawanqa: mine's been fine so far. havent been any busy as i was thinking. and yours?

meat = flesh?

flesh = meat?

Posted by Kryptik

Just got back from saying goodbye and dropping the house keys off with those close friends of ours. They'll be watering the plants, checking on everything etc.

@ tranced:
Yeah it's been OK, just sorted out the last few things today before we fly off to South Africa tomorrow.

@ Kryptik:
LOL, thanks boet. All important, that one, especially since it's a gas stove with the electric oven to contend with here..

All packed n' ready to rock n' roll. Will check in (play on words here) to this forum tomorrow morning before leaving for the airport.
Cape Town's calling!Woohooo! One more sleep!
Dang, and then one 'sleep' on the plane. Eish, I never manage to get any decent sleep on international flights...

Greetings from a blustery n' drizzly Cape Town, y'all!

Da Wanqsta's in da house, LOL.

@ Kryptik:
LMAO, seems those two sloshed Brit lasses tried that, in the name of getting some fresh air.. Sigh, one of those truth-is-stranger-than-fiction scenarios, hey? Incredible.

@ Hobbster:
Eish, CT International seems to be a serious 'Extreme Makeover Airport Edition' at the mo..

The P1i's cam has already been in action today, taking pics along Melkbosstrand and Blaauwberg etc.
