Congrats Wanqa, not too shabby at all!

Hobbs, i'm sure that Wanqa experienced a temporary moment of weakness when he bought the LG... i recall waking up one morning, in years gone by, and later that day discovering an NEC in my pocket, with no recollection of how it got there or how my sim came to be inside the phone... i do recall a blinding light being shone in my eyes and then... nothing.... i woke up dazed in a park miles from home! Strange but true...

Have a brilliant Friday, folks.

LMAO Kryptik.Aliens hey.Wangas force obviously isnt that strong.Me,the force would have stopped such insanity. Its like Coca Cola,Fanta Peach. He bought himself a Fanta Peach lol Wangs, the council orders you to take pic comparisons to justify your actions before any order to expel you can be brought forward. We better hope the P1i comes out on top or you are going to be left out in the cold with the 'common' man.lol

Wanqa
Congrats on the splendid piece of machinery you convinced yourself to buy, not bad at all. I fear we won't be seeing a lot of your 3mp P1i pics in the near future

Congrats boet!! You're not the only one to break your promise to the symbian council, at this time tomorrow i maybe posting pics of my new phone which runs a OS platform thats been competing with Symbian since the word PDA-Smartphone was inveted. . . . .i think.
Hobbs
LMAO!
Kyle
Sup bro? Nah im still on V11 Firmware, will try updating when i have my data bundle next week, amazing how large the N81 FW update change logs are for its FW updates. Have you seen the video of the N81 with the new V20 fw? Transition Menu effects look great, but im still not that excited about it, im just happy they added On Demand Paging and Menu Transitions.

@ Gucci, so its a WinMo phone... Mmm so I reckon its HTC, maybe the HTC Tytn 2?

Posted by gola
Didn't know there is an LG chocolate 3

Posted by kyle_274
@gucci. No man. I hvent seen the videos. My internet connection at home is way 2 slow. Im also gonna upgrade mine Wen i go 2 jhb sometime next month. Iv killed my whole 500mb data bundle in less than a month. Usin just my phone. I dnt knw how i did that. I need like a gig. Maybe even 2. Or unlimited. Lol

Posted by GUCCI.011
JC
wow! No! Not the TyTN-II, i wish it was though but that requires a R2000 pay-in. You're close though, il give you a clue: the previous version of the phone im getting was the direct rival to iPhone.
Kyle
Lol! Same here bro! I do a lot of YouTube streaming with emTube on my phone so thats one of the reasons why my bundle gets "depleted" quickly! otherwise hows your N81?

Posted by JC08
@ Gucci Hehe, now were getting somewhere, then I recon it's the HTC Touch?
@ all Gr8 weekend to y'all

For GUCCI

Steve Litchfield from AAS on the HTC Touch Diamond

"I've shouted down the Diamond before, in Smartphones Show 63, and I'll do it here again. It's a powerful Windows Mobile 6.1 business handheld shackled by a clumsy, slow and inelegant add-on UI and confusing set of text entry mechanisms."

Just some food for thought before you commit treason buddy.

HTC Touch **** ? You're EXTREMELY CLOSE!
Hobbs
Yep,ive read enough reviews about these WM6 AND 6.1 devices and think il be fine, also remember that that's a Symbian Site Forum, they can be biasd just like how some WM Users biasd against Symbian. Thanx a lot though and im not after the Diamond. . . . .i think.

Posted by HOBBS
Thats what he said you would say lol and thats how he opens up the story he published, about it been a symbian site, been biased ect ect

Wheres the Wangsta today? Hiding under a rock I suppose lol

@ gucci, then it must be the Htc touch dual?

Posted by kyle_274
Iv been killin my data bundle by just normal browsin and download stuff. I was shocked wen i got an sms from them sayin i used more than 90% of my bundle. Im still luving it hey. I hve the feelin it cud be alot louder. Even though i only hve the phone at like 2 or 3 bars with headphones. I think the stereo speakers cud hve been much louder. I wish they had implemented tv out. But others wise its a gr8 phone. Im supper happy i went 4 it and not the w910

It's 7 o' clock;.... heeeeere's Wanqa!

LOL I've just got home, with a carload of school files and pressies from the kids as we closed for the academic year today. The only reason I've got all the school admin with is that in the last week of the hols, I submit my application with evidence to move up the pay threshold even further. But for the next 4 weeks I ain't touching a single piece of school paperwork!

Holiday here we come!

Enjoy it, Wanqa, a well-deserved rest after a long slog!

Found anything good yet, Hobbs?

Hobbs
Its his guilty concience talking he knows he's being biasd but i will say WM is slower and more power hungry than Symbian by far, but its also a lot more customizable, never thought i'd want one until my mum got the S710 VOX and a friend got the P3400,both are a lil outdated but they are so much more "open" than my N81.

Wanqa
Dam you are lucky, congrats boet,il be joining you on holiday next week friday.

If Sepultura's album Chaos A.D. established the band as more than just another death metal outfit, Roots expands both its search for identity and its quest for sheer aural destruction. Frontman Max Cavalera explores his past in "Roots, Bloody Roots" and "Endangered Species," and plays with a remote Brazilian tribe on "Rattamahatta". Elsewhere, Sepultura experiments with minor-key dynamics and atonal harmonics, imbuing their wall of noise with an oppressive sense of mystery. They also extend their musical horizons, adding clattering tin drums and what sounds like a jew's-harp to "Breed Apart," and garnishing "Lookaway" with DJ scratching, half-speed vocals, and a gothic, chiming mid-section. --The Hobbsters Album review,NOT

Still on the go Kryps. So much stuuuuuuuffffffffffff.will feedback later when I put it all on my phone.

Sorry for the delayed responses now; the phone's been ringing with extended family finalising things for the holiday etc.

Firstly, thanks guys.

Secondly, I haven't had a chance to really fiddle with the KC550 yet. All these pics of the phone were taken with the P1i.
I took a quick pic in the low-lit lounge last night, and initially, to my utter horror, the tardy viewfinder response and 'noise' in the viewfinder nearly flattened my battery. (Kinda like when I fist had the 2mp Panasonic VS6).
Then I scrolled through the settings and wow, there was the reason: the phone has SIX ISO settings, and a whopping pre-set ISO 800 was causing this. I set it on the very low ISO 80, et voila! What a difference! Phew, a bit of a scare there.

Will upload some KC550 pics tonight, but dunno when I'll have a chance to do a proper comparison due to a very busy schedule before we fly on Tuesday, but I'll try.

No stress Wangs. Its not like we are all sitting here waiting in a LG anticipation frenzy.lol

LMAO.

Hey Hobbster:
That was a quick reference search on my all-time fave metal album, LOL.

Dang, apparently the Table Mountain cable car is not operating for 6 weeks, due to maintenance etc. How dof is that; maintenance in the busiest overseas tourist month.
Bugger; there goes Wanqa's hopes of some nice cellphone pics from atop 'die berg'.

Right, next we'll have to try Cape Point or Robben Island...

Bugger cable cars, Wanqa, have ye heard of this nifty beverage called Red Bull?

Posted by HOBBS
Red Bull. What a rip off.Just buy a Fast Forward choclate bar for R6.00.But beware off the comedown and there is a comedown. They should ban it even if its just because you get left with a blue tongue.

Posted by amawanqa
LMAO, you two.

@ Hobbster:

Damn just downloaded the new retention lists from vodacom, their flippin out of their minds, the n82 went from bout R350 on Top Up 590 from last month to R1000 this month. I really hope that is a mistake...

Posted by HOBBS
JC, i dont know why you bother with going on the internet to check prices. You always get the wrong information.Just walk in-store and inquire or just make a phone call. The N82.Good choice. At least someone has their head screwed on right.

Yeah Wangs. Its been a busy one.Im going to try participate regulary even if I just talk to myself lol

OK time to logoff and eat some kos

later okes

Posted by Kryptik
Ja nee, keep us updated on your meanderings, Wanqa, quite possibly you can meet up with Mario and me when you guys are in this neck of the woods.

LOL Hobbs, i used to sneak onto the Net via my neighbour's WLAN on the iPaq Seek and thee shall find, boet

Posted by GUCCI.011
JC
Yep, the prices went up, ive got that list as well. N82 is still only free on Talk500s which is R800pm, what a rip-off, MTN offer the N95-8GB Free on a Procall120 at 309pm yet on Voda even if you are on a Talk500s at R800pm you pay in R1000,but i guess Voda can afford to do that.
Hobbs
The retentions list is what the guys in vodashop use to check how much pay in they must charge you if the phone you want and contract arent on Special Offer.

Posted by amawanqa
@ Kryptik:
Will do, boet. Unfortunately, we won't be driving to EL from CT like we did last time.
We're flying with 1Time and at R706 each, it was hard to resist..
We'll have a car in EL, though. If we can squeeze PE in, you'll be the first to know.

KC550 night macro pic.
Slightly over-exposed in the immediate foreground due to the flash used so close, but not too shabby so far:

Now to try the different ISO settings and white balance.
