Strange but true, the other day i had connected my phone to the PC, and was transferring all my Symbian installation files to a flash drive when bingo, the PC's antivirus app started screeching blue bloody murder. There, nestled inside an ancient Simworks Symbian Antivirus installation file was a virus... It was quarantined and deleted so fast i barely noticed it in the first place, but it goes to show how these things slip in unnoticed. Up until then, none of the Symbian antivirus apps i'd run on the phone had detected it...

What do you mean by auto screen rotate Guc?
If I slide the music player keys slide my phone flips into landscape mode and I can go through the menu's as normal..Obviously if I need to type something
then I have to slide the keypad slide which takes it back to normal.
Concerning YouTube,Im not a fan so I cant be bothered. As you said, there are third party apps that cover that arena.
Loving S60 Kingdom again. You must remember my last S60 phones were the 6600 and 6680 (great phone) and so much has happened in that time.So My eyes are been opened wider everyday to its new possibilities.
Farewell lovely UIQ3,we'll meet again in the near future Im sure.

hmmm. . . . You realy are not aware of what that monster is capable of. Thats not Auto Screen Rotation. Auto Rotation uses the phone's Accelerometer to rotate the screen to the way you're holding it, a lot like the iPhone, so instead of opening the media keys you simply just hold your N95 in Landscape and the screen will automaticaly rotate to landscape and when you hold it up right it will go back to Portrait. When you're at Pro go to the SymbianOS9 group i said you must join and find Rotateme, then you will not even have to update your N95 for ASR. Theres also an app called NokMote which allows you to control your N95 without touching the buttons, all you do is simply lean it to the right if you wana navigate to the right, lean it to the left if you wana go that way etc. . . Some cool stuff out there.
Oh ye i suggest searching for the: Hack No PC thread at Prodigits. When in the S60 Forum scroll down to Pinned Topics in there you will find it, it takes likes 5mins and you will have hacked your phone and able to install unsigned apps.

Ja Gucci,UIQ has stunted my cell growth lol I was always used to having a bare cupboard, now my cup runneth over and Im a bit overwhelmed with all these options. You want a certain app but now theres 2,3,4 different versions to choose from ect Once my brain has refreshed and Im not so tired I will do my homework and catch up with the ways of the folk of S60dom.

I detest Heathrow Airport; in fact most airports. Maybe Oliver Tambo International is still the worst.. agh, I'm just a tired, synical wanqa at the moment.
Said 'bye to those friends from East London, and with them is my sister's new Nokia 6500 Slide and another new Nokia 6131 for the old lady, to replace the one that was zokked from one of the PostNet branches in EL.
They really smaak the Dark Side's offerings.
Right, back to esato.
@ tranced:
That's really sad news about your P990. Have the police managed to track it down yet?
@ Gucci:
I'm quite wowed by the new
C905; albeit not a smartphone.
Still, i can't see myself without a touchscreen interface on my main phone, so let's see what the 5800 Tube delivers...

Just looking at that lineup Wangs for Madiba's birthday bash doesnt excite me at all.Johnny Clegg live, vomit,Annie Lennox-passed her sell by date ect The only interesting artist there is,is a drug-fuelled insane nutjob who goes by the name of Amy that Id bother seeing just because shes a nutjob and nutjobs like nutjobs lol

So far Gucci nothing exciting as yet has been installed on my phone.Just got Operamini 4.1,Gmail,Activity Monitor,Core Player,BBirthday,BestSafe,FSCaller,MWeather,XPlore and Screenshot.

Hey Wangs Im listening to Guns and Roses Use Your Illusion II and just thinking why the hell didnt Axl Rose just stay on drugs (since I mentioned drug fuelled nutjob pop/rock stars) and keep churning out all those great rock songs.(not the kind of thing you wish on a rock star cause in most cases they die) Dont Cry,November Rain (lovely rock ballads) and messed up tunes like Garden Of Eden (love the music vid of that song) Those were the days man Rock On!!!!

@ tranced:
Yeah, hope you get a positive answer tomorrow, mate.
@ Siosal:
Thanks, boet. Great to see you in this forum again.
@ Hobbster:
WRT the concert, yeah it may not be the mother of all line-ups, but it'll be a mother of a concert for sure. It's going to be huge. Madiba is such a cult hero here; people will come in their thousands just to get a glimpse of the great man.
If anything, some of those artists were very prominent through 'the struggle'/ 80's and thus it's great that they've committed to this; a long way from the 'Free Nelson Mandela' concert of back then when the very same Simple Minds and The Eurythmics (i.e. Annie Lennox & Dave Stewart) etc were in their heyday.
As regards Blomme en Kanone, ya Use Your Illusion I and II was pretty much their musical swan song (albums), IMHO. The 2 ballads you mentioned bring back a lot of memories. The guys in my platoon when I was in the army in Oudtshoorn used to request November Rain so many bloody times on a TV phone-in show, on the occasions that we had a chance to watch a bit of TV.
Always think of 'You Could Be Mine' when I think of those 2 albums too, not because I enjoyed Axl's whiny delivery in the song, but because it was so prominent in the Terminator 2 soundtrack.
Some of their earlier iconic stuff like Sweet Chil' o' Mine, Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, Patience and Used To Love Her are simply timeless...

Yeah Wangs.I think (in my personal capacity) that Mr Mandela's legacy has kinda died.I speak for myself here. Its lost its glow.A new era is apon South Africa.Who knows what the hell we have in stall for us.But hey Im optimistic and hopeful that in Mr Zuma (a criminal or not) change is gong to happen and a good thing that is.Anything different to what we have now in a positive light Im happy. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer,Not cool.Rock the boat Mr Zuma.Rock the FCUKING boat I say lol

I love the way when you connect via USB to your PC on the N95,you are given 4 choices:
PC Suite
Data transfer
Image Print and Media Player
I havent even bothered installing PC Suite.I just use the data transfer option which gives me access to my Mass memory.
Easy simple.

Just installed Shozu onto my phone so I'll soon be uploading pics Ive taken with the N95.Still cant upload from my bosses pc.Have to clear caches and shite and dont want to mess with her pc.Shozu rocks man.Time to start testing. When I figure out which blog i'll be uploading to from the Shozu application i will share the address with you guys.Decided I wont be blogging this phone. To time consuming and there is already so much blogs out there by more dedicated users that I decided its pointless.

Now you know why i left my N81 Blog. There are hundreds of Blogs on these phones and dedicated sites. Especialy on the N95, N95-8GB, N82 and N81. Im even part of a strictly N81 Forum called N81Street with quite a lot of users. So hows your multimedia monster so far? You tried surfing Esato and other sites with the built-in Web browser? It's slowly driving me away from Opera Mini.

Taken with k810(Sory for poor quality forgot to clean the lens)
Check out this pic I snagged a while ago, made a mistake with focusing the cam on the fence, but it came out quite cool
Posted by amawanqa
Damn, nice pics, JC! That last one did actually come out very arty/cool, both with the fence and those lion cub (?) eyes on the other side of the fence..

Posted by amawanqa
@ JC,
Ya the pic came out OK I guess; just difficult to manage light settings with predominantly white backgrounds, due to the amount of light that gets reflected etc.
Posted by JC08
@ ama, I think in that pic the white background actually focus the attention on the bike and mrs ama

Yeah true; which indeed is a good thing..
In other news, the
W760 is now out here; initial price is £179.99 (approx R2700).

Posted by JC08
@ ama I think thats a good price or what do you think? Have you seen the latest photos taken with g900?
Posted by amawanqa
@ gola:
Dang, that's one serious telescope that the dude must've used, compared to the one I used with the N73 and P1i moon pics.
Still, the detail that was picked up through the telescope aperture is impressive. Wow.
I found it very tricky to get a decent shot that didn't over-expose, due to the amount of light from the moon in such clear conditions, coming through the aperture. A pretty darn good effort, methinks.
Posted by amawanqa
@ JC:
Some of the latest pics in the
G900 thread look very impressive; as the one guy mentioned, possibly better contrast than the K850i in most situations (unless your name's plankgatan, LOL), but then again there's one or two new users that seem to be battling to emulate some of the better pics using the default settings...
I'll keep checking out that thread to see what the average pics uploaded look like. Fortunately it doesn't seem to suffer the same level of tinting hassles like the P1i.
About the W760, I guess for the launch price, it's not too bad. It's priced the same as the Nokia 6500 Slide. But I'd rather have the Nokia's auto-focus, Carl Zeiss lens cam and HSCSD ability, than the Motion Sensor feature of the W760, but hey, that's just my specs preferences.
As it is at the moment, I think it's still too much for what it offers. When it (eventually) drops to around £100- £130 here, it would seem far more realistic IMHO.

@ ama where's that been taken? Is the bike supposed to look pink or is it actually red?

Ama
So it is achievable with a telescope, wow, i was just guessing. Yeah it's a pretty good photo!
JC
Nice fence photo man
Posted by amawanqa
@ JC:
It was a hurried pic, as the poor skaapies took one look at me and were then quickly on their way; I guess I can't blame them too much.
The pics were taken near Folkstone, along the Kent coast.
It is indeed a red bike; this one has much better resolution and colour (unedited) and was taken moments beforte the other one, before I stood back to take the whole-bike pic:
