i will sell mine for sure. but i'll be getting it by december
cant get the enough money for its release. so i will sell mine and will save some money hence i'll have enough to get it

Ya, I've never bought a phone as soon as it is launched because of the crazy prices and very limited 'deals' with the networks.
I've also been pretty patient and waited a good few months before doing something like that, otherwise it's an obvious case of throwing good money away.
Both my P900 and P1i were out for several months (after which prices dropped) before I purchased them.
Posted by tranced
i see. i wont never buy a phone as soon as it gets out. i wait till prices drop a bit.
well, gotta go matey.
take care, have a nice weekend

Yeah, I gotta get going soon too; we're off to friends for our usual Saturday night barbecue, but the weather's threatening to spoil our plans tonight...
Anyway, thanks, you have a great weekend too, mate.

Wow, no sooner do the Orange network get the W380i in both colours...and they're out of stock already!
Fair enough, they may have had only limited initial batches, but still...

Theres no way on an upgrade will I not get a HSDPA phone. That would be ludicrous given that I use my phone mainly for browsing. How often do I use my camera. Not very much so a 3.2mp should be a sufficient step up.Ive browsed on a 1.8mbps second connection and its a damn pleasant experience.Click, second, page is loaded. My cup of tea. That Indonesia Blog is definitely the coolest UIQ3 blog Ive ever come across. That man is King when it comes to making the most out of your phone.Hes made me think twice about this upgrade and that maybe theres still a lot of juice left in this outdated P990i dinosaur yet.Its about making the most of what you have before prematurely progressing onto the next best thing.Just got back from my gramps's 80th birthday bash.Had a jol.120 family and extended family strong. Was a pretty interesting evening.
Posted by amawanqa
Ya, HSDPA certainly has its place. Fortunately both at home and at work there's unlimited broadband browsing.
Wi-fi is patchy to say the least, and data rates here make browsing a rather expensive (ludicrous) affair, unless one either opts for the £1-a-day unlimited surfing or £7.50 a month (approx R110) on top of the tariff or calltime for monthly unlimited phone browsing with the likes of T-Mobile, O2 or whoever.
Either way, I'd be dof to use it with what I have around me. Only if we're out n' about would it come into its own, but if I'm kuiering by friends, I'm not going to bury myself in cellphone browsing instead of socialising.
Irrespective which way one looks at it, it would've been nice to have the option; it is a pity that it is missing, but for the foreseeable future, it'll certainly not be a pivotal factor when deciding my next handset.

@ tranced,
That's unacceptably poor service, mate. Is there no way you can take it to another phone repair/service centre?
That's as bad service as what Jmash has experienced with his P1i in SA. Honestly, form my ivory tower, I don't know how some of these repair places get away with being so tardy and delivering such pathetic service.
It's just unacceptable in anyone's language.
Posted by jmash
Still nothing positive on my P1 fellaz. It has been 3 weeks.already and still get the same response that the phone is still awaiting to be checked. That's really crap service. How can they have it for 3 weeks and haven't 1 look at it.
Posted by GUCCI.011
@ Jmash
Eish sorry to hear that, like Wanqa said its pathetic service! A friend of mine sent in his Samsung D900i for repairs because the Charger/Headset port stopped working two weeks ago and he's had the same response.
@ Hobbs
Yep my next phone has also got to have HSDPA, I don't understand why NOKIA left it out on the N81. My only problem with high data speed is that after a while of surfing with 3G or HSDPA the phone starts to get quite warm and a bit uncomfortable.
Going to be playing on an N82 tomorrow!!, thats if my buddy with the N95-8gb remembers to bring it.

@ tranced,
Fingers crossed that they've fixed it properly. Hopefully it's also not picked up any additional marks or scratches while it's been there, i.e. that they've taken very good care of it.
When I took the N73 in for a firmware update by the official Nokia service centre in central London, I politely forewarned the guy that the phone has strong sentimental value (LOL) and that I'd be expecting to see it in exactly the same cared-for condition as when I left it there.
A few hours later (they were very busy), I collected the N73 and the exterior was indeed exactly how I left it, with the new firmware installed.

Well guys, for now the SA thread is the 6th biggest thread ever on esato!
http://www.esato.com/board/stats.php
The Slovak, Indian, UK, Philippine and (soon to be) Dominican threads lead the way, plus the non-regional chat thread.
Still, for a relatively small, dedicated band of cellphone technology geekstas from SA, it's certainly not too shabby, hey?
Well done to one an' all!

I'm due an upgrade this week but I'm holding out...dunno what for but I've decided to take my time.
Have to add that my second N70 has been a trooper...its been lobbed about like a molotov cocktail and received heavy knocks.
Mostly I use it to check my mail- while I'm in bed- and checking on RSS feeds for some of my favourite sites like huffingtonpost.com.
So when I finally decide, it might be the P1 or W960...its definitely going to be an

@Kryps-I finished the writing box (writing slope) on the 3rd of this month.Thats when he's birthday was.It was painstakingly painstakingly painstaking.Didnt take photo's unfortunitely because I was in such a rush and fuss to get it to him for his birthday that I totally forgot. It turned out pretty good.Looks beautiful.Ive given it another lease of life.Restoration is not for the faint-hearted.Glad I did it though.I saved a writing box that I had found in his garage dying a slow death that is worth a good couple of bob and is quite old.He just didnt know what a little treasure he had.He was over the moon.

Very true, should've obviously stipulated that the contributions from those outside the SA borders (and without SA links) have been a huge and significant factor as well; it also highlights the friendly, approachable and congenial vibe that we have in here.
@ Mario, LMAO; as relentless as I am (LOL), it'd take a few Wanqa clones to pull that off, 'bud'.

Ya, the parkas helped with the short distance from the tube station to our car; brollies were out of the question with the wind we are currently experiencing. Some of the pot plants on the stoep have taken a pounding too; I'll have to re-pot them properly again..
