Thanx guys, it was a lekker day indeed
Since the weekend i'd been forced to wear a sandal, but yesterday morning the bandages came off and i was able to wear boots again, thank goodness! Yeah, one year older, dunno about wiser though. Next year is a biggie, or so i've been told, four decades on the planet. Doesn't feel any different now though, so we'll have to see what the year ahead holds. Lol, maybe i ought to start checking out the hospital supply stores, maybe lay-buy/bye a wheelchair or a walker

I ain't posting much in here anymore
but I have to tell you this. Over the years (11+) I have seen lots of 'personalities' while on non official visits in my home town where I work as a cop (patrolling/window shopping 
) German politicians, rugby players and yes the by now F1 legend Michael etc etc. Would you believe me, about a week or so ago I could have greeted a 'real' king, but I did not because I did not recognised him at all He walked out of the Billabong factory shop while I went in to investigate a 'afirmative shopping spree' as we call it locally. And no, the King was'nt a suspect.

Ive just been on www.gumtree.co.za site in the telecom/phone section in the swapmeet and have contacted 3 Nokia E61i user who are interested in swapping their phones.A P990i for a E61i.I think thats a pretty fair swap,dont you? The two phones are pretty much on par with each other.I think they get the better deal personally because of the touchscreen and camera capabilities of the P990i but I quite like the idea of that 16 million colour landscape screen.hold thumbs.

@ GUCCI I was just browsing and came across 1 brand new E61i to swap and 2 1 month old E61i's to swap.To good to miss that opportunitely I say.The E61 was my 1st choice before I got my P990i but it didnt have a camera and radio so I gave it a miss.The upgraded E61i solved that problem but by that time it was to late.Dont think anything will come of it though.They all seem to be Nokia fundi's and if they know nothing about the P990i they'll google it and get all that negative stuff out there.Also in there swap list was phones like N81,N73 ME and N95.I also also saw a almost brand new Nokia 6600 selling for R699 and was very tempted,just because that was one solid smartphone in my opinion.I had one 4 about 3 months before i stupidly sold it for a Nokia 6680.

Ya, it's been quite a lekker day here, although the wind's keeping the temperatures lower than predicted.
Also braaing tonight, i.e. the usual Saturday night ritual. Boerewors, sosaties, roosterbrood...and the potato salad's ready in the kitchen. Nca.
Haven't done much today. Got a local financial adviser in this morning to organise us better, separate life insurance deals (it pays to do one's 'homework'..), bought the boerewors, faffed around the house, downloaded some music from mp3fiesta and that's about it.
Really chilled-out; just what I need after a hectic week at work.

TeenInvader,what contract package are you on?A good yardstick for me is a Vodacom Top Up 135.Yes,in most cases you'll have to pay in a bit extra for the phone you want but you are limited to that 135 and then have the choice to recharge once reached.I use my phone for mostly internet and sms's so 135 plus maybe a 29.00 topup near the end of the month is quite sufficient.

I agree with Hobbs, for me the R135 contract would be quite sufficient as well, since i mostly use my airtime for gprs, and hardly make calls. Even sms usage is minimal (besides, mtn and vodacom so generously allow us to send sms from their sites, lol) It's really about how heavy one's usage is, i suppose.

Just took a mate to a PC market in Stratford, east London.
£200 (approx R2900) got us a brand new tower/base unit consisting of 160 gigs hard drive, 1 gig RAM, Intel Dual Core 1.8 Ghz processor, Gigabyte S2 series motherboard, and Windowski XP Prof plus Officeski etc etc.

well i had 135 but ended up paying the average of 1K ... and whole thought of being locked in just kills me ...
Another thing that makes it hard to control my account is the billing system they use...
calls for this month get bill at the end of the following month ... so if you control you usage this month you'll only feel the releif end if next month ...
Now i have a talk 120 iinly a year old ... i'm not renewing it at the end of the deal too ... maybe i'll change my mind ...

Any paticular reason you chose that horrid package other than you like making calls on your phone?
At the end of the month you are going to be billed for sms's sent and data used.Insane.I stay far away from free minutes and sms packages.They are designed to rip holes in your pockets.
Why not go for a Family Top Up 315.Same price but at least you have some control.Like once you reach 315 you stop and suffer till the end of the month.That makes sense to me.

Im on a Talk120 contract with 500MB Data Bundle and have over 630mins available, think its a good deal especialy now that my minutes have accumilated i call for "free" any time and so far haven't had to pay in for my upgrades
