@ Gucci:
Hey, nice pic, boet! That 2mp cam sure captured that outdoor carpark pic well.

Nah, I prefer the white Nissan 1400 bakkie next to it. More practical, cheaper on tyres, insurance etc... LOL, jokes. That's one awesome set of wheels. Sigh, no prizes what rugby team the super-wealthy owner supports. Even the massive yellow brake calipers can be clearly seen behind those mags.
The Italians sure know a thing or two about mechanical exotica.

So true, whether its Cars, Motor Bikes, Fashion etc. . . The Italians definetly rule when it comes to making exotic things!

The mrs was showing me some of the pics that she took with her K550i on Friday night, when we were by Tower Bridge. Dang, I'm very impressed with the pic she took with that 2mp cam. Fair enough, part of the detail on the top of the 'towers' is kinda being swallowed up by the night sky, but it looks like the K550i wasn't nearly as bothered by the spotlights around the bridge like the P1i was, and there's some good detail in there for a night shot:

@ Jojo,
LOL, I bet that left the dude's 'girlfriend' feeling rather 'deflated'...

@ Hobbster,
Yipppeee! Look forward to receiving them.

EDIT: Good ODI win for the Proteas, but eish it must've been difficult in those conditions.

@ Kryptik,
Did you hear about the chaos last week at EL's Frere Hospital when the generators failed during a 4-hour power shedding session? The poor staff in ICU literally had their hands full, to say the least...

http://www.dispatch.co.za/2008/01/15/Easterncape/aalead.html

Posted by Kryptik
Yep, it was mentioned on Algoafm, boet. I can only imagine the panic that staff and patients must have felt!

Whenever there's an outage i can't help but feel sorry for those who are greatly inconvenienced by what's happening. Granted, Eskom publishes their load-shedding schedule, and the radio stations keep listeners informed as to which suburbs are to be "switched off" at certain times, etc., yet it's scant comfort for those whose livelihoods depend on the power being up and running.

Sony Ericsson today published the financial numbers for 2007. 103.4 million units was sold in 2007 compared to 74.8 million in 2006

Does anyone know 2007 sales figures for the other brands? (Nokia...Motorola ect)

Posted by Kryptik
i remember reading somewhere that Nokia had sold just over 100 million units by the end of the second quarter last year, and that their total sales were greater than the combined totals of those manufacturers in 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions.

Posted by HOBBS
WOW!

Posted by JC08
Guys Im a bit pissed right now, Voda said I have to wait a furthur two weeks to get my phone back...

Posted by GUCCI.011
Yep SE sold around 103.4million and Samsung well over 161million units, Nokia im not too sure but what Kryptik said is true and Moto realy not sure, so SE may stay as number 4th out of the 4 major manufacturers THATS IF Moto sold more.
@ JC
Dam that sucks bro, all that for a joystick? Maybe they sent it off to SE who are running short of parts or something??? Just hope you get it back with a joystick that works properly.

So iPhone sales in the first 2 months in the UK total around 190 000(although it's apparently a conservtive figure), a little short of the predicted 200K mark.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/01/21/iphone_targets_missed/

And to think that 500 000 were sold on the first weekend alone in the States when it was initially launched...

It's a rip-off here.

@ JC,
Damn, that's it's taking a month (in total) for them to fix it?!

@ Jojo,
Wow, some spectacular Moto GP crashes in that first link, and some incredible wheelie skills in that second link! .

@ Hobbster,
The Cult's iconic 'Heart Of Soul' and 'Edie' (Ciao Baby) are waiting for you in your inbox. Awesome songs! Enjoy.
Let me know what you think of them. They'll take a while to download(!), but dang, it be worth it.

Just stay away from Leonard Cohen; his music can cause terminal depression... LOL.

@ Jojo,
Sorry, I forgot to answer your question earlier about the Gatwick Express trains. They're not the fastest, but still reach a healthy 160 km/h.

Here's info about them:

So i woke at about 04h30 this morning... Seeing that i was awake i turned off the alarm, then opened some windows... or rather, i THOUGHT i'd turned the alarm off... the siren must've woken everybody in the area, since i could see bedroom lights being turned on all over as i was talking to the armed response people on the telephone whilst explaining what had happened

Posted by JC08

Posted by JC08
Well the problem is I cant keep using my brothers phone, so I need a replacement phone...

Posted by GUCCI.011
@ Krytik
Shame man,Eish what Hobbs said is true though, not many neighbourhoods like that.
@ JC
Like the others said, stick to that Z550, Voda will give you a stupid Motorola C108 or whatever or a Nokia 1100!

If i could offer some advice, register a complaint on www.hellopeter.com The website is unique in that it does its best to ensure that your complaint is heard at the top, or as close to the top as possible. Companies are VERY quick to respond to hellopeter, because they get negative ratings if they don't respond or attend to legitimate grievances. It's also a good place to hand out compliments for good service, etc. I've used it a few times, always with good results.

Fingers crossed for those in the Mother City and beyond; one of the 2 nuclear reactors at Koeberg is now currently shut down for its major service (done every 18 months per reactor, including the generators, turbine etc). This means that for the next 75 days, there's only one reactor operational down there...
