@ Hobbster,
Yeah, if the lighting's good, it's certainly in its element with macro shots.

Absolutely stunning.Thats inspired me to go down to the Sea Point Promenade and get some sunset pics.Nice one Wangs.
Posted by amawanqa
Thanks, ya but it's so difficult to fully capture the vibrance and hues of awesome sunrises and sunsets. I mean, one can kinda capture the essence of a stunning sunrise/sunset, but those brilliant cerise n' vermilion nuances never quite seem to manifest to the same extent in pics, compared to experiencing the real thing with the naked eye.
BTW, if you need me to copy n' paste any of your pics from your blog and upload them onto esato, let me know.

Posted by amawanqa
@ Jojo,
I'm heading off to NeverNeverLand now; I've been working quite late most evenings this week and really need to get to bed earlier.
Hope you're having a great 'Fry'day, mate. G'night.
EDIT: PS: The school's an old 3-storey Victorian building with a few modernised annexes. I'll take a few pics of the school soon.

My boss was going to get the T650i but everywhere she goes they only have them in blue and she wants the green and they aint getting the green, just the blue. Its not as beautiful in the blue I have to agree with her but putting colour aside,in the hand its a beauty design wise.
happy friday all.....have fun:)

Well guys, a while ago I told you that load shedding, didnt affect us, but well this week it has hit in full force, the power is off for 2.5 hours up to 3 times a day, its really irritating....
Posted by Kryptik
It's really quite widespread, according to some reports. Fortunately my suburb has only been "browned out" a few times, mostly during the mid-morning hours while we're at work, and then only for a couple of hours. I've come home twice this week to find the radio flashing a time two hours earlier than it should be. What's deplorable is the fact that, when driving at night, one sees government and municipal buildings with all lights ablaze, despite the fact that the only people inside those buildings are rent-a-cops. Bugger those commercials asking us all to save electricity, it doesn't seem to apply to The Man.

Some great pics guys! @ Wanqa, Hobbs, and Kryptik!!
@ JC
Shame bro, we have one 2hour power cut after every two days, so we fine today but tomorrow between 4-6pm we will have a power cut.

@pop - Gooooooooood Evening ! Nice shot mate ! Is that the London Bridge
Posted by amawanqa
@ JK,
Nope, just the standard 'profile' is customisable, and yeah, it does play the entire length of a message alert, if let to its own 'devices'.
@ Jojo,
Nope, that's Tower Bridge staaaanding up!
Posted by GUCCI.011
Wanqa
WOW! Great pic there boet!
Posted by amawanqa
@ Gucci,
LOL yeah, but I did take about 15 pics of Tower Bridge at different ranges and settings until I got a decent enough shot. Wasn't too easy with the spotlights around the bridge blazing way.
Posted by JK
thats not so lekker, the profiles i can deal with, but i alway get sms late at night, from 12 to 2am and for the whole song to play is jus crap, have to put it on silent or edit the song... overall i dig this phone!!

The avatar is an upgrade to my W950 avatar, i just love the way the UIQ3 Walkmans look so far. Check Virgin OR MTN about W960 they may have it, i haven't been to any type of cellshop since i got this or checkd any Voda magazines.

Just my freaking luck!!! Just as i was updating my Blog the power went off and then on 15mins later
Posted by amawanqa
Eish Gucci,
That must be so damn frustrating. I can imagine how miffed I'd be if I was working on something that required a good deal of my time on the PC and then suddenly have no electricity...
It's so easy to sav that one should've saved the changes at random intervals, but that's as bad as someone saying "I told you so..." Agh, happens to the best of us boet. I once was busy with a moerse post on esato and then lost it when the broadband internet connection went AWOL...
Posted by amawanqa
@ Jojo,
Most people, including myself before I first came to the UK 11 years ago, mistake Tower Bridge for London Bridge. The famous nursery rhyme adds to this misconception a lot.
There is indeed a London Bridge, which is the next bridge east of the famous Tower Bridge, along the Thames River.
Tower Bridge is the one everybody instantly recognises, with its 'opening' drawbridge road across it. It is right by the famous Tower Of London fortress.
London Bridge, on the other hand, has been built, dismantled and rebuilt in different guises over the centuries, on the same location.
Many years ago, one of its incarnations was bought by a super-wealthy American, then completely dismantled and shipped to America, where it was completely re-assembled there!
The original London Bridge had houses n' stuff built on it as well, and was the main bridge crossing for many 'commoners' centuries ago. Unfortunately its more restrictive arches didn't allow the river to flow as much as it should've over the Winter periods, which caused the river to occasionally freeze up when temperatures plummeted.
The modern London Bridge is quite a boring looking bridge, compared to its far, far more illustrious neighbour-bridge. It is lit up with all red lights at night.
Here's a pic of London Bridge taken from the floating WW2 warship museum, HMS Belfast, taken with the N73 that I had:
...and at night, the first one here was actually taken from Tower Bridge itself, to show the distance between the two bridges:
..and a close-up of London Bridge at night:

Thats true though i should have, saved at random intervals but since we already had a 2hour power cut during the afternoon i thought i was in the clear and decided to full steam ahead and just "do EVERYTHING now and save later"
Ah well,ye it happens,il live lol, learnt a good lesson though like you did with that post
Great pics there!

Great pics there!
When the 2hour power cut startd today my cousin and I were at Fourways Mall and the ONLY shop with a generator was Woolworths the rest had to sort of kick customers out and close early, its absolutely pathetic!

P1i pics taken today on Wanqa's Travels, of the Gatwick Express train which runs to and fro from London Victoria station to the UK's second biggest airport, ie. Gatwick Airport, which is near Crawley in the county of Surrey. It's a 30 minute direct train ride.

The 2 pics above are slightly over-exposed, but they'll do considering the dark backgrounds on the left.
