I've actually always been quite fond of the UK for no apparent reason and my few precious visits don't quite explain it. I guess I'm a nutter

But australia does appeal........

Posted by scotsboyuk
@Vlamm

masseur might slap me for saying this, but Australia seems like a sunny version of Britain.

Posted by 50Cent
if i had the chance i would leave UK like a flash... But seeing as i'm stuck here for some time to come...

@kimcheeboi - Well, for a START, the mod's should have given you a nice ITINERARY back then You are very much welcome in my turf - Manila! Where life is so EASY, you can sleep the whole day and don't have to worry much 'bout money, as it comes quite easy, compared when living in the US, wherein you are obliged to have 2 or more jobs in order to survive . . . here no, you just have to have 3 ammunitions and 2 accomplices to rob a small bank!

Posted by scotsboyuk
@50Cent

Where do you live at the moment? America?

Posted by absinthebri
I want to move to Iraq or Afghanistan - I want to live in a free democracy!

Posted by 50Cent
@scotsboyuk

I live in United Kingdom..

Posted by scotsboyuk
@50Cent

Sorry, I misread your other post; I thought you said you wnated to live in the UK.

I quite like Britain; I travel quite often and the thing that never fails to amaze me is how much I miss Blighty when I'm abroad.

Well one of our fellow esatonians, Bjerkebanen, as already moved to Australia, and we almost don't know nothing from him.
hmmm...
Does Australia have internet?

Posted by scotsboyuk
@Krubach

I believe they just got the wheel.

@50Cents

As I said, I wouldn't mind living in japan. There is just something about Japan that appeals to me, I think it is probably the technology, and the food of course.

Oh yeah . . . I haven't heard from him too ! I guess yes, as Australia is noted as one of the country which has 'heavy' internet users, parallel with that of Canada!

@scotsboyuk: I could be going to live (for a year only though) in Japan in 2 years time, I've always wanted to go there, and I've got an oppurtunity to work there.

@kim: I've been to Hong Kong, Thailand, France, USA and i live in the UK, I suggest living in the UK! I love it here

slap? nah I wouldn't do that... run you over with a steam roller.. definitly

have you even been to Australia? well perhaps we shouldn't get into all that. btw Melbourne climate is fairly similar to UK though perhaps it doesn't get quite so cold so you might feel at home there, íts where I was born too!

Posted by *Jojo*
Vlammetje - Well . . . that's 'bout @kimcheeboi's 'recent' disappearing acts at Esato ! His latest was sponsored by . . . himself > North of California I guess . . .

Posted by scotsboyuk
@masseur

Just joshing. I haven't been to Australia, although I do know several people who have. I might get the chance to pop over next year, schedule allowing.

Ups...

Let us continue the pre election discussion here and continue to chit chat about where Kimi ought to move here now that it's in the Garbage.

You monster,

Your garbagerising every thread you see

Kimchee should be the Garbage thread moderator...

You could move to Longyearbyen on Svalbard (Spitsbergen). It is one of the northernmost communities in the world, originally a coal mining town but nowadays tourism and science also is a part of the society.

The nature there is breathtaking, I know, because I have lived there for one year, as a student in Arctic Geology. If you want to see how it looks, go to http://gallis.com/kag/svalbard/ to view some photos I took during my stay there.

One example from my site:

I really long to return there. The best time of the year is the long dark season! 78 degrees north and still an acceptable climate. This should be something different for an American!

Posted by RichLok
!!! Beautiful place!! Looks lovely!

Posted by kristaga
Two more photos to try to convince kimcheeboi:

(notice the seal on the ice)

http://gallis.com/kag/svalbard/

What do you say? In addition I can mention that the islands are duty/tax free, so things like electronical equipment is quite cheap. Also alcohol...

So long as you have a ton of money Kim, New Zealand welcomes your vast amounts of rich american capitolist funding!

Course if you don't.. Australias not too bad either. Thats where we send New Zealanders in need of funds.

Gotta say I'd rather live in Canada or the UK (or europe really) while the US is a nice place to visit.. I was more than happy to leave it after 3 months.

I guess its a bit like anything, somewhere or something else is always ncier than what you have at the time.

Though there's nothing like "coming home."

Posted by *Jojo*
@kristaga - NICE! Can human survive that place mate Looks like Antarctica to me dude . . . As I am more immuned in seeing SOIL rather than - ICE !

Posted by kimcheeboi
@kristaga--beautiful!

i'm actually thinking of going on a world trip next summer

Maybe i could stay at Norway, then go to the UK (and bunk up with mehts and get drunk on bad beer and wine ) and then finish it off with a frankfurt/australia romp!

Posted by methylated_spirit
Yeah, cool, i'll do anything.

Posted by Sammy_boy
@kim - if all else fails, simply jump on the next flight to the UK, and when you reach customs, simply say your seeking 'political asylum' from an undemocratic, autocratic far-right country that tramples on human rights if you don't fit in with their 'moral majority' view of life.

You'll get in no problem!!

Cynical? Moi?

EDIT: Just realised this makes me sound very anti-american - I'm not, I just don't like the current administration and a lot of what they stand for!
