i have read loads of posts about unbranding/unlocking the k700i but i am still unclear on something

i had a vodaphone k700i which i got unlocked - before i had it unlocked it would let me do a bluetooth search but when i went to send something it would just say "connecting" all the time and the only way to get rid of this would be to take the battery out

i was told an online update from the se site would sort this

so i bought a dss 20 and tried the update - it asked me to turn the phone on and put it in he sync station

then this error message appears

"there are currently no devices supported for your operator"

or something along those lines

so my question is

do i have to get the phone unbranded and then do the update, even though it is already unlocked

cheers

Yes, you need to get it Unbranded using Total Multiserver. And that should do the trick. Use the T28 Cable to do this

There has been some lengthy discussions on it in the General Part of the forum here

This should help

I presume you have the t28 cable that you unlocked your phone with and you can use it again to debrand.

Did you use totalmultiserver last time?

Also, WHen its debranded you should be able to use the sync station to update the f/w

no i dont have a t28 cable i got it unlocked at a local shop

have just rung them and they said they can unbrand for either £15-£20

so i might just pop down there or buy a credit from faceoffmobiles and t28 off ebay

thanks for clearing that up

once its sorted my mum can have the k700i and im getting a new phone

all ive had is problem after problem with the k700i
