No, from service point, but I think they did this through the web.
Guy from service point said that they recieved this firmware today.

Ok.. just wondering anyone upgraded it via SE web site? please reply.. thanks!

@rewind, r2aa fw should have a phonebook search function (search a contact by its whole name, like t6xx series) can you try this out and confirm it to us?
Posted by 2samek
Yeah, I agree, why don't we with old batteries don't get new one for free? I mean, this REALLY sucks!
And for God's sake, for gsm in this class not to have a search function in phonebook, c'mon, oldest nokias had that ages ago! And it's not that big a deal to make it....

Posted by Sir-SonyEricsson-man
still what i told earlier this day.. IT WILL still take a few days before its out on the web..
Posted by Rewind
Now u can search names in phonebook, max 5 characters.
Posted by kenski
@rewind, If its no trouble can you post some pics please!
Posted by sahran
during the conversion can you play any audio file from sounds folder or media player .
thanks

(c)redit goes to http://www.mobilmania.cz/Bleskovky/AR.asp?ARI=108363
but there is a proble, once you typed let's say "jonh", you cannot erase the "nh" and write "hn" to complete it to "john", you have to wait until the grey box disappears (ca 5 seconds) and then you have do it over.
quite cumbersome, but maybe after another 10 years we will see some real intelligent search function in SE phones
SE simply sucks when it comes to basic phone features (the worst addressbook on the market, very crippled search function, very poor calendar..). SE phones are just toys for people with max 10 contacts
Posted by Sir-SonyEricsson-man
but for putting in this function or the first time its really ok.. SE can fiks that in a late software
Posted by kenski
Wow! real proof finally.
upload it to the online service! Posted by Merkur
The R2AA003 software update not only brings us the updated phonebook feature, which in my opinion will probably be refined in the future, but also for those weho use language packs EU3 and EU4 this update adds the menu language Icelandic to the phone.
A challenge for any savy mobile user!
Posted by JethroUK
....i find the current addressbook letter search is fine for me........i'm waiting for update Z9ZZ999 which includes what it should've in the first place:
msgs stored in "sent" order (not rec'd order, prolly 700i biggest bug)
sleep mode (extending battery life 33%, which the 700 desperately NEEDS more than any other mobile)
calender which supports recurring appointments (like proper mobiles do)
softkey access to speaker phone during call (it's buried so far down the menu it's totally unusable 'in call' feature for me)
custom melody for any and all sounds
auto keypad locking from any menu (only locks from desktop, another bug)
option to switch off tone ramping completely (i currently loose as many calls as i get to answer in time)
volume control that controls any/all sound output
depatch with the screen saver (which has absolutely no use what so ever)
i bought the 700i because of S/E build quality (which is good) - it looked like everything i ever wanted in a mobile - but alas it's just a toy & i find it unusable as a professional tool
my wish list:
intelligent menu (learns from use), where last used task is automatically promoted to the top of the menu, so to do whatever you did last is just press, press, press (all phone will have this soon)
virtual keyboard/mouse & projector (all mobiles will have this too)

If you really wanted k700 for professional use you should know it DOES accept recurring events, you just have to use Outlook and sinc it after...thats what i do, works perfectly
Posted by aquila2

well, but many ppl just NEED to insert recurring events while on go! plus you cannot edit the ones you already instered.
k700i is NOT a phone for a professional ..
Posted by kenski
sori to say but I can edit events that i've inserted already! somethings wrong with ur phone mate

Are you saying your ringtone volume starts low and ramps up? coz mine doesn't. Using an mp3, and its damn loud from beginning to end.
Posted by kenski
Yup I second that and you can disable increasing ring as i think everyone with k700i can

Total Server is currently "offline" (I don't know hoe to call it)... You can view the directories in Download Area, but can not reach the files. I guess you can still flash the phone if you downloaded software before. I can not try as I have only DSS25...
Regarding DSS25: is there a way to force another driver (like SE Fighter USB cable driver... I am not expert and don't know if I tell nonsense here) instead of DSS25 and than try to update firmware through Total Server???
Take care

Hello,
There is a new version of TS (1.28) and ?new? revisions of R2AA firmware RE29 (whatever). It seems that there are two ways to flash your phone now.
1. To keep all user data and loose T9 languages except English
2. To delete user data and have all the T9 languages.
I am not sure about that, because still no info on http://www.totalserver.net. And I can not try it for now...
Files for flashing S700i are uploaded.
Still no DSS support... Keep up the good work M. Live and let die.
Take care

Has anybody use Totalserve on their K700 from UK O2 network?
If so, was it easy as it looks pretty complicated to me.
Posted by Sir-SonyEricsson-man
i think this has nothing to do with the original Update service from SE. And if you use it you will lose your waranty

TOTAL MultiServer v1.28 Released !
Hi there to all,
Now you can upload Language Packs (with T9 Dictionary Included) in your desired Language to your K700/K700i/F500i/K500 phones WITHOUT LOSE the User datas inside the customer phones... MMS, SMS, Phonebook, Ringtones, Pictures, etc...
When we released the Language Changing for K700/F500i/K700i/K500 phones we had 2 choices:
1.- KEEP USER DATA and not upload T9 Dictionaries (Except English that always was there)
2.- KILL USER DATA and Upload all T9 for the Language Pack languages.
We decided to KEEP User Data and non-English T9 losing option because If you lose USER DATA is not reversible anymore, but now you still be able to Upload the right Language and therefore you will have the right T9 dictionaries included in the Language Pack in these already flashed phones.
We didnt want to see the customers face after you at your service center removed all their USER DATA by Language Changing. But if at any time customer complaint about T9 missing in the new installed Language Pack you can contact us and you will be able to Upload T9 Dictionaries.
With other servers you lose USER DATA after DEFAULT Language Changing/Uploading, with TOTAL MultiServer all USER DATA will remain untouched after Language Changing.
We only uses DEFAULT Languages for Repair Phones. We dont charge this operation and therefore no credit will be deducted.
end of quote.
For more info press ? in TS1.28 near the drop down list where you choose the phone.
Take care

Anyone understand exactly how u go about doin this
http://www.totalserver.net/k700x.htm#decustom
is it saying load firmware then language or both at the same time. The english isn't that good
Also used multiserver to update to R2A but had error message, used sony online update in recovery mode and it put R2L firmware.
Flashed R2L language and customisation files back to phone which works now but online update says no release for my operator (which should be unbranded)
does this mean there is no new firmware to update or i have created some kind of monster hybrid phone that is not updatable!!!
anyone have any ideas?

There has been a lot of discusson about this in this thread
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=70831
so if you scroll through last few pages maybe you can find some help. I know how confusing that thread looks right now, but...
I can only tell you to open TS 1.28 program, choose your phone from drop down list and press ? near that drop down list. Follow THAT INSTRUCTIONS!
Be sure you have fully charged battery... and working COM port of course.
Hope this helps if you need anything more please ask

Posted by funkee_phantom
not quite what i was asking, more how to use the new 1.28 version cos the decustomise repair instructions have changed!
unsure if flash both files together under default tab or seperately
Posted by vee
@ funkee_phantom
that's why I have told you to open the program, choose the phone you want to decustomize and press the ? button... there are exact instructions how to decustomize
Velimir
Posted by funkee_phantom
instructions yes but althought they have been written by manuel from Fawlty Towers.

Why are you updating trough totalserver? Because you have unlocked and unbranded phones?
R2AA is out on EMMAII anyway. And can´t you people wait about one week and flash it then? You know you´re taking a risk every time you flash the phone?
Posted by 2samek
yeah, I think we all know that by flashing U'r phone U can make it a piece of junk buuuuuut I think it's worth taking a risk
Hvala Bogu za marOOna!

Hi all, does the r2aa from totalserver have the phonebook search facility?
Posted by mwarner
@kenski
Yes - please look at the K700 / K500 Firmware overview thread for more information.
Posted by JAGUY85
Would be nice if SE finally added the ability to check contacts for either sending a message or deleting. Is there any phone by any manufacturer that allows you to checkmark contacts to either send a message, send to other device or delete? Thought I heard motorola V600 has this not sure. Please confirm. (Don't want to be too off-topic but seeing as it is a feature I hoped for I simply threw my last question in).

@ SEM
whats latest news?
Posted by 2samek
Just wanted to add, some guy at my local newsgroups (Croatia) flashed his K700i via Totalserver (latest version) to R2AA and succesfully removed ALL T-mobile sh*t and was able to ad local T9 and Menu Input language!
He also added that with new firmware he is able to do a 4 letter search in phonebook, menus are again (Thank God) fast, one second delay when establishing call is gone (well, he says it's reduced to micro-second), battery is again improved a bit BUT the anoying camera sound is STILL there! All in all, better this than nothing
