@2tek... Thank God for His infinite mercies. May the good Lord continue to watch over you now and forever.

@2tek: Sorry about the crash, but thank God for mercies like yours. I have learnt to keep off the roads as much as possible during festive seasons, due to unexplained surges in bizarre occurrencies during these periods. My sister too was involved in an auto wreck two days ago. Apparently some fool decided to make a left turn at the Iyana-oworo exit of 3rd mainland bridge, forcing her onto a culvert. Thank God for airbags, she came out unscathed.

2tek We thank God for saving your life. Meanwhile we hope our Govt will one day learn the habit of road maintainance and repair. Even in the chaotic Iraq, not more than 30mins after a major incident like bombing, govt people will be on the road, washing, sweeping, mending and give 2hrs you may not know that something has occurred on that spot.
But in Nigeria, even dead body stays on the road until vultures and other animals finish with them.
If somebody has done something about the fuel (even a man waving a red flag), 2tek would not have had his near death experience. The sad thing is many other people in many other places have not/will not be that lucky.

BARKA DA SALLAH PNF!!
But as no one invited me for xmas, I invite all for Sallah!
Just caught up on the thread so i'll keep it short and simple!
@pxth: would even a pres position settle there niger delta thugs? If they targeted the local leaders who chop the small cash FG gives, they'd make more head
way than perfecting the art of expatriate kidnapping.
@uchrik: is there any politician that one can actually trust to do a good job to a reasonable degree? Obj was my last hope in and see where it got us?

@2tek: thank God for ur survival but dont attribute ur car's demise to jack of german ingenuity! Lots of people dont know how to react to loss of traction at high speeds, resulting in over compensated steering/braking. As a lesson to us all, when going at 100+, take ur foot off the gas when approaching parked vehicles, especially out on the highways.
@all: 2006 sucked for me! Lets pray money gets into circulation 2007 so we can make money the legit way!

I thot PNF would hit page 500 before 2007. Maybe by 2008.

@pxth: I do have a great driving track record. been driving 15yrs and thank God not one accident.
talking about cars, i think i need to change my tires. i keep getting flats almost on a weekly basis now. very annoying.
@amby: i'm really behind on new se phones. what is new?
Posted by Demmy
@abubakar, it's not about the speed at which u'r travelling when there's an oil spill. It's one of the worst things that can happen to a driver. An experience I witnessed sometime ago shows dt 2tek summarised all that happened to the bearest minimum.
This guy was going to deliver a brand new toyota camry to its new owner somwhere in Ogba at about 8pm. unknown to him was that there was an oil spill... he lost absolute control of the car, skided off te road with the 2 tyres on the passengers side in the gutter while still moving only to be stoped by a culvet guard. at the end of the day the two rims were badly damaged while the guard destroyed the bonnet and the engine...the driver jus got out and sat on the ground wishing it was a dream.
@2tek i feel u broda, thank God your life is spared. I believe money will com from where u least expect to replace the car. pls post the pix.

Happy New Year PNF! Wish you all success in your endeavours.
Get the posts coming this year. Peace.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! FRESH SLAB! NEW SCHEMES!
@demm: speed is the major factor! if you start sliding sideways at 90 then hit some traction you are less likely to somersault than if doin 120 at the same point.
whether is oil or ice.

There is this debate about whether Atiku should stay in the US while fighting to retain his seat or come back home. This is the summary of my take on the issue.
We are dealing with a government with no respect for rules, even the one they made. If Atiku returns he will be arrested and they will use all known and many unknown tricks to keep him in jail, no matter what any court says.
The last time somebody returned in circumstances akin to this, the man died in jail and that was only a few years ago.
Atiku will better serve the interest of Nigeria by staying abroad, away from Obasanjo's murderous long hands and throw the muds at them.
The reality of the Nigeria of today is that we are back to Abacha's era, and unless he want to second MKO, Atiku should stay put.
What do you think?

Happy newyear PNFers
One of my new year resolutions is to be more active in PNF (if celtel will let me)
Abu-ya ka ke yi haka? how was the sallah? you did not even save any ram for your fellow PNFers, haba.

Happy New Year folks!
No New Year resolution for me. Same Goals as last year. Why start on new projects when you have not finished last years?
Money: I doubled my 2005 income last year but I was ten times more unhappy and depressed than in 2005. I told my folks that I was the most unhappy "millionaire" in the world. How sad.
Politics: Yeah Atiku should stay put until he wins yet another court case. What was the Court cases scores again? ATK 4 OBJ 0. OBJ never thinks and so he keeps making blunders and losing in court.
Meanwhile, I am not for Atiku as our next Prez sha.
Anyone of u on myspace? I am thinking of spending time there as an replacement to Prodigits. So far, I am impressed by the number of Nigerian babes on the search list.
@Brix: 3G will be licensed sometime this year. You can bet the guys here will be one of the firsts to "trial" it. Maybe our posts will jump again. hehehehehe

ive been following the obansojo/atiku fiasco closely and i serously think atiku should stayin yankee if he values his life.i think the situation in nig is just...i dont even have words to describe it.we have independence ad its still the same mostly undereducated militarymen leading us.our political parties are not even based on different ideologies.its as if the rule is:if u dont win in one form another one!!..they is no light..no water..bad roads..high illitracy...high unemployment.and we'r making billions of dollars a year from oil.i wish the oil would just dissapear self...maybe it will make the leaders get thier acts together
Posted by ambyzown
@mariwun: my sentiments exactly. Frankly I don't give a hoot about what Atiku is facing right now, because he deserves it. But what pisses me off is Obj's blatant disregard for the rule of law, and our cowardly judiciary. Mr. Ojo should be ashamed of himself.
Posted by abubakar
@easy: you havent been thru this thread! despite no xmas invites i invited all!
on this atiku issue, it goes to show how crooked we Nigerians can get. we have extradition treaties with US. if they had something concrete to arrest atiku (without implicating themselves!) they could have done it by now.
coola, are you sure its in cyberspace you want to fine a wifey? a girlfriend or a pen pal mayb

On myspace... the place is kind rowdy. Too many rascals can just ruin your page. I am having a re-think.
Another Bud sent this:
This year, all your enemies shall be harassed like Atiku, restless like Chris Ngige, Confused like Chris Uba, Disorganised like PDP, Resigned like Audu Ogbe, Sacked like Peter Obi, Disappointed like Peter Odili, Betrayed like Charles Taylor, Arrested like Sergeant Rogers, Detained like Al-Mustapha, Disgraced like Tafa Balogun, Die like Abacha, if they refuse to die, will be hanged like Saddam. Meanwhile, all your competitors shall step down for you like they did to Yaradua, You shall be announced like Duke and Tinapa, You will reclaim what the Devil had earlier stolen like Ladoja while Goodluck shall follow you throughout the days of your life like Johnathan in Jesus mighty name. AMEN. Welcome to a Brand New Year.

Some Guys are truly creative... I tell ya.
I just came back from Jalingo. There are 36 Army/Police road blocks between Katsina-Ala and Jalingo! The Army Guys are complete with battle fatigues with water bottles strapped by their sides.
You can't miss the innovative road-blocks too: the logs had tires made from ball-bearings. They roll it on and off. Impressive. The trip takes 8 hours from Abuja with the KatsinaAla-Jalingo stretch a cool 4.5 hours of pot-holes and road-blocks.
I went on Wednesday and returned on Thursday. Something like 1,600km. I am taking three days off to recover.

I will like to assure you that real battles are ongoing on most highways in the north eastern Nigeria, hence the soldiers.
Brutal armed robberies occur on those roads regularly by particularly brutal and merciless hoodlums suspected to be from the Chadian civil wars. I was in Adamawa State many years ago and I know that from Jos onward, those roads are battle grounds between traders and deadly robbers.
I assure you, you are better off with the soldiers. Meanwhile, the presence of the soldiers clearly shows the utter uselessness of Ehindero and his rag-tag militia called the Nigerian Police. They set-up road blocks to collect illegal tolls only. When there is really law enforcement job to do, the soldiers come out.

2tek, sorry o! How were u able to leave unhurt cos i can see the roof caved in? God dey do wonders o! We thank God sha..
Anyone got a used phone for sale? I need a 2nd phone (bluetooth enabled) and would be glad if someone has one for sale here.
Posted by abubakar
@ambyz: saw the iphone on BBC's click. real nice. been waitin for a no-button-large-screen phone. wish SE came out with one similar. i'm not an itune fan though so the iphone's appeal to me is limited.

@2tek- You do have a God who is madly inlove with you. A thousand may dead by your side and ten thousand by your right hand- but you will notn be hurt. Glad to know you are safe. Give us the gist of how it happened.

Meanwhile, the NCC has issued a 5th GSM license to a company from UAE. Mudabal Dev Corp paid 400 million USD for the license and they are to pay up in ful in a few weeks time.
Men, when you have petro-dollars, the "rules" don't apply to you. What do you think their chances are?
Posted by abubakar
@coola: it depends on thier commitment. if they are willing to invest in 3g equipment and give cheap rates for non-voice services they may get a good niche of the market, especially the upper end users. similar to glo's low skimming high penetration marketing plan during thier launch. no company has made getting a 3g phone compelling so far.
@mamba: you're very vague about the phone you want.
Posted by abubakar
@mamba: what do you want with the bluetooth? to use the phone as a modem or for normal pix and ring tone exchange? and what 2nd hand price range are you gunning for? not that i have one for sale, but it'll help you in procuring one.
Posted by mamba
@Abu, I need bluetooth for GPRS modem and file transfer as you rightly said. Also wanted to use a bluetooth handsfree too. I needed a cheap phone that would do almost everything I needed it to do, therefore I decided to opt for the SE k600i. It was so hard to find a second hand one but I finally did. Got it for 13k yesterday at Ladipo.
@Amby, if u are interested in Imate Jam or any windows mobile phone (obviously a better choice than SE M600i) them plenty for that area at a cheap price of 35k. I woulda bought one if I had the money.

@Mamba: I'm very interested. The backup battery of my I-mate Jam is bad and I've looked everywhere for a replacement without success. Where exactly in Ladipo? I hope the phones are in good shape? Pls PM your number so that I can ask 4 directions.
Funny enough I was also considering SE M600 and almost bought it last week but for the many bugs reported in several symbian sites.
Posted by ambyzown
Yea Brym, the M600i is still very buggy but I believe SEUS has a new firmware update that resolves most of the bugs. Plus the rumoured P1000 which most likely will be the M600 successor should be out in a few months.
@mamba: I'm not particularly thrilled by WM devices. I have an iPAQ 3800 series that didn't impress me. But I'll still check Ladipo. Thanks
@coola: like Abu said, if they offer what I want, I'll buy their line. 0809xxxxxxx right?

That's just a pda running on PPC 2002 isn't it? A far cry from pda phone running on WM 2003 or later. Really!
SE and buggy phones:I still don't understand why SE can't get it right the first time. Poor quality control?

The fact remains that WM devices aren't impressive. I don't see what they woulda put in the Jam to make it appeal to me. Still 64Mb ram for a PPC? Plus I don't understand why such a device won't allow you delete files from your memory card and the office applications are shitty.
Maybe I should play around with yours for a while to be convinced.
But they are such ugly devices
Posted by abubakar
could be 0810XXXXXXX
SE phones have just as much bugs as the rest. they are just slower in releasing updates etc.

I am not sure they got a free 3G license o.
