@all talking bout the efcc registration, remember we talked bout this issue sometime back. Truth is they can never catch the real yahoo guys that way and it's just about absurd that we have to tender our details @every cafe we visit.
To me it doesn't make any sense and I beg for a contrary view.

Glo CC told me that Free Midnight Calls were only available on EasyTalk IF you spend N1,000 /month. Nothing for Classic Plus subs no matter how much they spend. As u can guess, I have since moved to Easy Talk. It costs around N380 to migrate.
Jonah Jang won the PDP guber race for Plateau. I hear he was not Mantu's candidate. He better be careful who he chooses as Deputy Gov.
I am sure all the hotels in Abuja will be booooooked because of the PDP Convention 2moro. Anyone wants to hazard a guess as to who will win? I don't see a clear winner on the first voting round.

Obasanjo has chosen to repeat his 1979 errors by imposing a barely known, certainly uninspiring, lackluster and possibly reluctant presidential aspirant on the PDP; Another Shagari in the making?! I just hope the opposition will give us a good combination of president and vice to rescue us from this Obasanjo's peculiar malady.

If Yar' adua is shagari then who is Dikko?

And Jonathan Badluck for God's sake? I see grand mischief in the horizon! The only way these two can win in 2007 is by unprecedented massive rigging. I cant place my hand on it but I perceive a strong odour of mischief. God save us!

The fact that it was by Time and produced by Prince? No, I checked my mental brympedia for that. I only googled hours later to confirm date of release.
I'm quite familiar with the old school cos I was an 'in crowd' DJ back in the days.

@brym: That sounds like a challenge! I too was a jump-up DJ. Our skills must be matched in an old-school face-off!

Hello, is anyone here? All gone for the Xmas break already? or are the ol' school posts disturbing the flow of political discussions?
Ok, back to mainstream...
Well, to date we now have 6 presidential candidates: Yar'Adua,Atiku, Buhari, Okotie, Utomi & Kalu. Truly who's ur choice and why?
Posted by abubakar
Let me put my 2 cents in. From that line up i'd vote Buhari cos of his past performance and "the devil you know" reasoning. The problem is, i used that same line of reasoning in 1999 voting in obj and was seriously disappointed. I dont know anything about yaradua's accomplishments while gov. I would prefer a gov with a little cred behind him. The rest are jokers. Pat doesnt have pres muster yet. He might've been a good vp though. After 8 yrs if he isnt impeached or thrown out of the party, he could then run
Posted by coolapostle
Of the pack, I think Orji will do well. The other good candidates are in the PDP like Muazu, Makarfi and Duke. Too bad they have been scared into dropping the ball.
But I think Yar'adua will be rigged in. I just pray he rebels against OBJ in the shortest time possible.
Ribadu will be removed by OBJ soon so that EFCC will not send him back to jail after ATK's revelations.
Merry Christmas y'all. No New year resolution for me in 2007. Off to my home town 2moro.

What has happened to the Naija thread? I love politics and all but this pre-occupation with the succession race is driving me off the wall. Do you guys still have issues with your networks? When will 3G/HSDPA services be introduced? Please keep this South African brother informed on the sleeping giant of Africa.
Posted by abubakar
@coola: orji? Ur decision is based on....? I think obj will leave efcc as is, with his boys embedded. If he disbands it, what is to stop the next admin setting up another version without any obj sympathizers?
@brix: true 3g services might not come till 2008. There is no momentum at all that way. Even simple 1G services, WASP apps like news, weather & sports, downloads etc were not packaged in an appealling way.

Whats happening to mtn's network? it has not been steady this past few days, cant even send an mms or post a reply on esato with it, Happy hr calls from 23 dec to 2 jan will be charged. Hope calls will not drop during d festive period.

@angel: MTN's problem seems to be nation wide. I've seem the same in Abj and M'guri these past few week.
Back on the political scene, is the Yaradua choice going to back fire? I'm not seeing any zeal of grassroot support anywhere.

Sorry bro, but it seems the giant is slumbering.
Celtel seems to be the most likely to launch 3G services first. They are currently sorting out bandwidth and frequency issues with NCC.
@All: Merry Christmas and a prosperous year 2007.
Frankly, I can't seem to take a pick from the lot of presidential aspirants, I do not think I will vote when the time comes. None of these six guys appeal to me.

@Abu: since you've put it so nicely, I'd vote for Yar'Adua, because at least we'll have some peace in the Niger Delta with a Bayelsan as VP.
......I hope.
@Angel: Its really sad that MTN chose this period to mess up, but it seems to be a Lagos problem, cos I received an mms from a friend in Delta state, but cant download it.

CONSPIRACY THEORIST!!!
I hear Yaradua isnt in good health and he'll hand over to his VP after a few months. How true is it? Stay tuned....

I dont think Yaradua will be stupid enough to do that, he would have committed suicide, cos I'm sure he will be stoned to death in the north like an apostate!
But I think Buhari is the better option considering that Obj will burn Nigeria first rather than allow Atiku to be president.
This OBJ has become the greatest insult Nigeria has ever had. The man is making Abacha to look like a saint, all his loots and assassinations notwithstanding.
And has anybody been listening to Gani Fawehinmi lately? It is like the man has started smoking pots! How low can somebody get in his blind support for a kinsman? Gani is taking parapo (ethnicity) to a ridiculous extent.

all:merry xmas to you.
adrusa;I had to show face today bcos of your last post.It seems I disagree with ur views.I am not a politician, but I trust Yaradua/Goodluck more than any of the rest.& I'll vote for them.Gani is merely expressing his own "informed"opinion.À?À?À?

@all I didnt know we have a pack of policians in da house.
Compliments all the same.

@adrus: i dont know about ur "stoning" comment, but he has nothing to lose if he is actually unwell. PDP should have gone for Maikarfi or Muazu who actually have more grassroot support. For real, apart from his family lineage, who outside Katsina knows anything about him? I'll have to agree that Buhari seems to be a better choice. Lets just note this page and look back by nov 2007.

Informed!? Dont be ridiculous! Gani's recent opinions on recent events from Oyo to Plateau to PTDF have been anything but informed! You need to check them up again. The last thing I heard him saying about Plateau was that the impeachment was constitutional. Now the just justices of the NJC have shown how uninformed Gani's opinion had been by suspending the state's belligerent CJ.
And goodluck to you if you think the choice of an unknown, chronically ill Yaradua and the local oil thug who became a deputy governor is the best the Nigerian state can have. You need to go and find out about their antecedents (if you can find any).
If all that we have now are all that we will get, then BUHARI is it for me. He is about the only contestant now with some credibility. Most of the really good ones are rank outsiders in the race.

don't be surprised that yar'adua will outlive goodluck.
@All... The fact that goodluck has been chosen to be the no 2 man does not mean a sh*t to the restive youths of this niger-delta . The v.p is not a solution.
secondly, no party (on earth )can unseat pdp for the post of the presidency cos they have perfected the act of rigging.
Posted by ambyzown
Its so sad that in a country of over 150million citizens blessed with so many intelligent people, the best we have to offer are retired and recycled military officers. In the alternative, we settle for unknown people imposed upon us by some senile individual.
Posted by uchrik
One by one,
On PTDF,Gani called for the impeachment of both Obj & Atiku.Where is the parapo sentiment in that.
On Plateau state,I neva heard Gani say Dariye's impeachment is lawful. But then,I dont see what he stands to gain for his tribe nor for Obj by saying so.If he said so,then its more of a question of what the constitution says than that of how the NJC feels.

Another pipeline explosions in Lagos?! Is there anything about OBJ's tenure that made human (nigerian's) lives so cheap to dispense with? Major air disasters, massive pipeline explosions, unprecedented waves of unresolved political assasinations, Ikeja bomb blasts and the canals, violent, unchecked armed robberies, Odi, e.t.c.?! More Nigerians have died violently in many more ways in the last 8 years more than any other period since independence. Except may be for the period of the civil war.
As a mark of honour and respect for all those who died needlessly and violently during his tenure, I think OBJ should spent his retirement in a cemetry! Any seconder?!
Posted by 2tek
talking about violent deaths i was nearly in one. i had a mad car crash on my way to abeokuta via the sango road on xmas eve, one truck broke down on the road and it spilled diesel all over the road
i was coming in at say 110/120 km per hr, which in my own opinion was adequate speed for that road. when my car got on the diesel i skidded like i was on ice and bamm, i hit the the culvert, the car flipped a couple of times and i got out of the car with the smallest of all scratches, its a miracle, i'm still in a state of shock, i took pictures of the car and cant still
believe i got out of it alive.
i wasnt the only one involved cos like 10mins after my crash one bmw also lost control and hit the culvert but it didnt somersault like mine, german ingenuity. the guy that got out was shocked also but when he got out and saw my car already totalled he knew he got a better deal.
i know that there is a God and he has got serious love for me. Never doubted him once but he keeps surprising me.
perhaps i will post a pic of the crash
