@mariwun & pxth: marry for luv alone?? to me that doesnt work. you can luv someone that doesnt luv u back. Coola, marry someone that understands u, is patient with you and vica versa. You will love her for that and vica versa. If its only luv u want to marry for, your road will be long!

@easy: Support the man!! You go marry someone sister o!!!!!!

Posted by pxthomas
@ABU . . . The institution of marriage is a mystery some people say. You can predict the action of animals but in humans you cannot.
The best i can say is to go with a clean and open heart

Posted by easydee
@pxt and abu- i wish i could, but unfortunately it's the tradition of my people. nothing was inflated. from the no of animals to yams and all other stuffs. the ibo tradition requires you to do that. He's up to the task.
come to think of it- now i know why most ibo men wait till they are really well to do before looking for a wife. You'll hardly see an ibo man getting married without having enough money in his account. thats why some of them get to 35 or 40 to get married(esp those who work day and night to make a living).
The guy marrying my sister is doing three things at a time(mostly it's done one by one or at all at once-depending on ur bank account). in ibo they are called ime ego- bride price, i gbu ewu nna-provision of goats to the brides family and igba nkwu-this is the main traditional marriage. all this three put together costs quite some amount and i''ve not yet gotten to the ghurch wedding. so coola i hope you know all this.

I dont know about other traditions but in my tradition the groom may not be present for the trad marriage if he is faraway and cant make it. like my cousin who got married last month. her groom to be was rounding up his masters overseas and could not make it. so his borther represented him. is this so in other traditions?

Yep. PNF's Most Travelled was in Awka twice this year. April and September I think. U want hotel info...?

And I will be off to my hometown on Tuesday. I have two weeks "Annual Leave" but I was recalled for two days.

U guys wish me luck... I am hoping to conclude my Toasting of one cute hometown chickito. She is currently #1 on the Top 10 of the coveted "Who Wants to be Mrs. Coola" Game Show. Serious! She lives in my neighbourhood and I have a really good feeling about her right now.

My brother! My trip to Awka was for my neighbours traditional wedding. I fear Igbo marriage o.

May I suggest Plateau babes for y'all bachies... I don't know of any tribe that does a "traditional" wedding in my State. Christianity wiped it all away. There is something called a Sendforth for the woman by her ppl but at no cost to u. And one major difference is that the church wedding happens in YOUR hometown not the womans like in many parts of Southern Naija.

And U know my Plateau babes are nice, loving, good cooks, humble, sexy, cute, easy-on-pocket, religious, etc.

Posted by mariwun
isnt being patient and caring part of loving your partner.you cant just marry someone you been on 5 dates with!!!...personally a courting period of at least a year is neccessary so you can know what the person is REALLY like

Posted by pxthomas
@coola...i don't mean anything bad when i mentioned that awka trip oh. Do you remember my comment then about igbo ladies-NO ROMANCE WITHOUT FINANCE.
Good luck on your toasting.

@easydee...what do you by it's tradition? What are the goats and tubers of yams for? To appease the gods i presume. Why can't we make our lives easy by simple ways.
This is how we waste huge sums of money to bury our departed ones also. THESE ACTIONS ARE RETROGRESSIVE.

@mari... A successful marriage does not depend on the lenght of courtship. A lady can hide her true nature from you for 60yrs and vice versa.
we need the presence of God in our life to make it work.
Oh boy do you see some provocative dressing from our girls these days. One is surely doomed if the spirit of God is not in you. Thank goodness my university days were not like what is obtained now. I wouldn't have been able to graduate

@Mari: Caring etc becomes love but love doesnt become caring etc. Lots of people love the people they abuse. Life is funny. I just beleive if you spend enough time caring for someone reciprocately, love must eventually bloom, even when you dont know it. I dont beleive in knowing a girl without having any caring emotions fully developed and the claiming to be in love. Cos you may be in love but you may not be able to truely care when t counts.

@pxth: I disagree with you!! (Coola, arguement fit start becos of your love!!!!) You need to know the girl for some time. Its not to gauge or to know her thoroughly, it just to see if you are compatible. My wife and I dated for 10 yrs (an olympic record!!!) b4 getting married. She still suprises me today. But i still love her (shocks and all!!!)

@easy: If its just goats, yam, cows etc its no prob as it helps feed visitors. Its stuff like expensive needless stuff thats where i draw the line

This I agree. Look at our Parents.... they didn't doall this rig-ma-roling but they turned out ok. All this know-your-wife-for-2-years wahala is an American Counsellor invetiuon that many ppl think its biblical.

I think i should get a woman who is willing to cope with me wahala and is committed to staying in the relationship with me. These things will take us forward when all the love (or LUST?) has ended...as it surely will.

@pxt- My family is a religious one. in my tradition the items are not t appease any god but it's for the bride's family. thats just the way it is. it's like part of your bride price but not exactly.

@ coola- i hope you are not one of those guys who date city girls and have fun. then eventually go to the village to pick a house wife? just asking

@all- i beleive that marriage is a union btw people who genuinely love themselves. i disagree wit what coola said about love fading( or is it dying he said) in a marriage. i know of a couple that have been married for 36 years. when you see them, if not for the age you'll think they are newly weds.

Posted by Demmy
@ all me think it's really good know your wife to be b/4 u know?
@coola, I've got a Kebbi babe that i can issue out to you if you don't mind. she's a pharmacist and dark skinned, pretty busty with fairly big bom...bom.

marriage is between 2 people.so no family member or parents should put a price tag.

Posted by ambyzown
First and foremost, welcome to PNF Afo. But I'd like to disagree with you. In African tradition, the family is very central in decisions concerning matrimony before, during and after the actual ceremonies.
@coola: take it from someone who knows, marry a submissive and humble woman who will put her family first above every other thing.

@pxt: The new opera mini focuses on enhanced security features. The russian hack is an upgrade of the version 2 but isn't as secure as the new version 3. The way I see it, the guys at opera feel that plugging the security loopholes of the older version is more important than fancy features. I foresee a version 3.1 that will allow landscape browsing & support downloads very soon.
And yes, there's an MTN package that offers unlimited gprs 4 N12k/mt

@ifed- if you are still having problemswith your voicemail.here's a simpleway to getting the problem solved. first setup your voicemail and personal greeting by dailing 122 and following the voice prompt. when you are done with that, go to your call diverts and choose when you want your calls to be diverted(if busy,no reply, unavailable or always). then divert the call to this number +2348020100155(thats the default voicemail number for all celtel subscribers.). it's as simple as that. you dont need to call the cc. try it and tellme how it goes.

some people are in love and you will never see it so out in the open. You cant say everyone else that is married for long periods and dont show newly-wed attitudes are just waiting for the grave! Everyone cant expect that from thier marriage!!!Coola meant (and said) Lust dying is inevitable. So true, so true! catch yours while you can!

Hmmm! hehehe! coola...... you didnt give those particular requirements......abi did you PM it to some of us?

@amby: with all the options coming up thru PTOs, dont you think MTNs is too steep? If gprs speeds werent so unpredictable (ecept you cant expect anything better than 56kb/s, if that!!!) it might have been a good deal. Starcomms is offering 24/7 at 10k. And the speed is sure to beat gprs by far.

Yes I agree MTN's charge is steep, but its still better than what the PTO's are offerimg. N15k for unlimited access, but then you are limited to one city. You can't use it outside of Lagos or whichever city u are located, plus it keeps breaking (disconnecting and reconnecting). With gprs, as long as you have your laptop with you, you're on. And the speeds are quite ok when compared with reltel, starcomms, etc

Don't mind me. Get well soon, and no doctor-nurse (or in this case, patient-nurse) relationships please.

Sorry Guys for being off-the-air...

Thanks Demmy... I appreciate your effort... I'd rather concerntrate on the babe at the #1 spot. I hope to see her during the next few days.

Thanks Amby for the advice on a submissive babe. Hard to find... but still available.

I would have prefered to marry one of the "town" babes but for their wahala. They have had their chance. One of them only remembers me when she is having problems. It was a serious turn-off.

This is the real thing...MARRIAGE... not some Romantic Comedy out of Hollywood. I want to get a wife that I can LIVE with.

I REST MY CASE ON THIS MARRIAGE ISSUE FOR NOW.

Anyone wants to join me and mourn the latest Glo backflip? They have cancelled the free midnight calls and hiked the price to the MTN level.

AND DOES ANYONE GET GLO CC? I HAVEN'T SUCCEEDED IN 3 MONTHS!

Posted by ambyzown
@Coola: free midnight calls are now only available to subscribers who use upto N1000 in the preceding month. You sure about the increased tariffs?
@Abu: do the math. If you make upto N10k worth of calls in a month, you're better off with xtravalue

Posted by easydee
hey all, called glo customer care yesterday. although had to wait for 16mins before i was connected and this was done at midnight. not to talk of trying in the day time.

i never knew glo had ended free calls until i exhausted my credit and called them.i felt really bad.

abu- any news on wat mtel's new name will be after the name change. i tink i like transcorp mobile or transtel

Posted by Angelgirl
Amby what is d migratn code 4 xtra value and is there any info about on their website?

This message was posted from a T610

Posted by ambyzown
@angelgirl: you'll need to contact an mtn connect or friendship centre to migrate. Its a contract package remember?

Posted by abubakar
@ amby: I did the math. dont think I spend 10 k on any one line of mine in a month. If i decide to stop using all my other lines including starcomms then it might do but i need my starcomms for my business as i make on-net calls @N2.

@ easy: Nice one. But i doubt with the stigma Celtel is facing they would also change name. Nothng wrong with Mtel since Transcorp isnt a telecomm company to strt with.

@coola: funny enough, i ws complaining the same thing not long ago, but last week i got them with one dail (and 7 mins of being on hold).

Posted by ambyzown
@abu: in my case, only about 4% of my contacts are on land lines within my network, so starcomms wouldn't do me any good. If Celtel could match the tariff offered by MTNxtravalue, I wouldn't think twice about migrating, but as it were, so many people already know me by my Celtel number to switch numbers now.

Posted by abubakar
@amby Dont look at the % of PTO numbers but the amount of PTO calls you make. In my case, my shops, staff, my subdealers and family are all on starcomms so i make at least 20 mins of calls daily with it (N40 only in Maiduguri & Kano, N100 elsewhere) On that bane, Im forced to maitain 4 starcomms phones (2 @ the office, 1 @ the house and my mobile!!! lets not talk of my wife's!!!!) So thats the math!!!!!

Posted by Demmy
@abu that was a carefully thought out plan that's worth emulating

Celtel finally deactivated my gprs this morning. Them don try jo. But that means goodbye to Celtel and Y'hello MTNxtravalue. But I'll wait till January before commiting myself with the hope trav Celtel might repent. I sincerely wish them luck, and hope they get their acts 2gether. Mtel is poised for restructuring under the auspices of Transcorp so Celtel had better watch out.
Compliments of the season to y'all at PNF

What do u mean by "deactivated" and what has that got to do with MTNXtraValue?????

Celtel could just be upgrading for billing or something. When someone as connected as you in Celtel complains, what do the rest of us Cel-commoners do?

Can someone confirm if Glo EasyTalk still allows free midnight calls? If so, it will cost only N399/mo to enjoy free midnight calls instead of the new N1,000 /mo that Classic Plus subs are expected to cough out. Abi? Plus ven cheaper tariffs.

Glo has certainly taken on a troubling MTNistic attitude these days. Scary.

@All I have been in Jos.... the #1 Chick thing didn't work. Too bad. I really liked the babe. TOO BAD.....for her

In other news... Plateau State (or Mantu State, as I like to say these days) lived up to it expectation in the PDP Guber Primaries... it was "inconclusive". They will do it all over again 2moro.

Who won in Ogun state?
