Just heard of another airplane crash at Abuja. Details are still sketchy but I gather its an ADC aircraft with the sultan of sokoto probably on board.

Once again our aviation safety has been called into question. This is a tragedy. In fact it is a bad omen

Sorry to hear about the crash and especially the death of Muhammadu Maccido.

BAD LEADERSHIP! A LEADERSHIP THAT IS MORE INTERESTED IN USING THE POWER OF THE STATE FOR WITCH-HUNTING, RATHER THAN A FOR A SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO CORRUPTION-BURSTING.
Of the last few plane crashes in this country most occurred around the take-off period. Something tells me many of those aircrafts shouldn't have attempted take-offs but for high-level official corruption among aviation inspectors and their bosses. PEOPLE ARE JUST DYING NEEDLESSLY.
May Allah be pleased with the Sultan, overlook his shortcomings and admit him to Al-Janah. May God grant all the bereaved families the fortitude to bear their great losses.

Th problem we have in Naija is things like this come and go and no one even voluntarily resigns from office, talkless of get persecuted. If Criminal charges for Criminal Neglegence were put made on anyone and everyone that that have a hand in these past accidents (from the ground up to the minister) we would not see its reoccurance this quickly. Its when you know you can suffer horribly in a jail cell for the money you have chopped that will make you think twice.

@coola: by the way, i confirmed your N6/min thing with Mtel. It was actually true. They tried to make it per min but failed. they now are doing it so per kb BUT they are not clear how much it is, only that an average hour's usage comes down to N360. I asked if im down loading heavy stuff will itn increase he says yeah. Until i can use it myself, i'll never know for sure.
Posted by ambyzown
Well they've blamed the crash on pilot error and wrong discretion. Of course he's unavailable to defend himself.
If something drastic isn't done about our aviation sector, we'll be discussing another crash before long.

Will God answer such a prayer? I think we need a "national repentance" prayer service with Baba confessing and asking God to forgive us all.
I am not one for conspiracy theories... but notice the Abuja connection to the latest crashes?
ADC: Lag-Abuja-Sokoto
Generals: Abuja-Obudu
SOSOLISO: Abuja-PH
Bellview: Lag-Abuja
Something is up.
@all Personally, I am also in the middle of a serious crisis.
On Sunday evening a drunk Okada rider on high speed knocked my friend down as he was escorting me from a visit to his house. I had my first unforgettable experience of holding an unconscious person and calling on my Lord Jesus repeatedly for help. AND SPEAKING IN TONGUES
We spent yesterday in three different hospitals. Thank God, the dislocated bone and massive bruises are being treated in the National hospital under the National Health Insurance Scheme.... so our costs are greatly reduced. IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME.

Haba Coola!! You are a conspiracy theorist!!! Any how, most flights in nigeria run thru Abuja so it is to be expected!!
Posted by ambyzown
@Abu: Abuja route does not handle half the traffic that Lagos does. how many airlines travel abuja-portharcourt? in Lagos, all the airlines have at least one flight daily. what about benin? enugu? calabar? owerri? no Lagos handles twice the number of flights that abuja does.
can you explain why all these crashes have all occured on weekends & in the 'mber' months?
conspiracy theory? give it a tot

my condolence to your friend coola and to follow Nigerians that lost love ones in the ADC plane crash.
but i would ave easily been queueing up with those that lost their life in the ADC plane crash, cause, men of the underworld visited our premises over the weekend robbed everybody including the Landlord's apartment, injured a co-tenant with their locally man pistol, stole a white BWM car (as get away car, though), why i said this, is that as they were running out off our premises i just got home so assuming i was a minute earlier the might have though i was an armed police officer and difinitely opened fire on me, also God so confussed them, they didnt even visit my flat and throughout my wife and kids where home and never knew what was going on down stairs, so i want u to praise God on my behalf. also MFM prays does work and we are presently on 70days fasting in church.

@areafada: That's one hellava experience, personally I've never experienced crime of the nature where I felt my life or the lives of my family was threatened...I hope that day never comes.
About the airlines...I feel that honestly there doesn't have to be any crashes...if there are measures in place to check airlines it would vastly improve airline safety. I suspect owners of these airlines are cutting corners when it comes to maintenance.

Oga Amby!! No one disputes the volume of lagos flights. What i meant to say was that most flights pass thru abj as mid-stop. Virtually all flights from the North do. Lag is more of a terminal. Any how, there seem to be more incidents on the Lagos end than the abj end. (if you check flight crashes over the past 5 yrs or so).
As for conspiracy theories (of which i am a theorist!!!) i dont see one here. The "mber" months are the months with the worst weather. Raining seasons' last turbulent throws, harmattan's foggy mist leading to poor visibility, etc. No secret there. Next?

@areafa. . .Thanks to Almighty God for his divine protection. No harm will come to you and your family.
@Abu ...Thanks for citing those causes. I don't see any conspiracy theory either

Amen to that Pxthomas also thanks brix25,
some1 just told me this evening that one of the survivals said he/she heard a bang before the plane went down suggesting that maybe a bomb was placed on board of the plane?
conspiracy theory?
Posted by ambyzown
@Abu" Na you sabi
God takes care of his own Areafada and Coola, as long as you put your trust in him. I thank God for his protection over you and yours.
Eye witnesses recount seeing the ill fated ADC plane burst into flames before it crashed, so the survivor's testimony is confirmatory of earlier reports.

pxt if you say so. by the way, I'm in Agbor delta state, and I'm making this post using Celtel free gprs, why you no dey use Celtel na? I had coverage all the way from Lagos down here.
Posted by abubakar
@amby: YES O! Na me sabi. If not me then who? As regards to your gprs in Delta, I keep telling you, you have do-undo connection at Celtel!!!! With all this gist about the plane on fire, if the engine was on fire is one thing, the plane being on fire is another. Anyhow, I didnt see any scorch marks on the peice fuselage that was intact. An engine failure is not too extraordinary. If all engines failled at the same time thats when we know some skullduggery is about. Has any gist from the blackbox been revealed?
@area: that "bang" could be anything. Did he/she say they were flying smoothly then the bang, then loss in altitude? If it was that then there is a slight possibility. But a bang can be the engine failing, a luggage compartment opening or a serving tray falling over. if they said they heard an explosion (which i wouldnt call a bang) that is something else.

I heard that one of survivors said it was not raining.
Anyway... it was also those at the rear of the plane that survived the crash and also the one with the Generals (mostly junior ranking soldiers). Now you know where to sit.
Any comments on the Kogi Governors daughters? ALL THREE SURVIVED!!!!
Posted by abubakar
@coola: It depends on the type of plane and how it crashed o! If you stay at the back or in the cockpit, if its your time, its your time. Safest place to stay is in the airport departure hall!!!

@All...Check out this Java application- REPORO. Got it from getjar.com

@pxt: I have downloaded and used reporo before, but I didn't like the interface of its IM feature, plus the idea of my entire phone book being uploaded and stored on some remote server didn't quite appeal to me. Have you tried mig33? It has a better IM interface with tabbed chatting.

@all, what is going on in Nigeria?
Today oyo state governor is impeached, 2mrw his impeachment is illegal, then the day after he should b re-instated as governor, after that the chief jugde of Nigeria Ojo comes out saying he can't return since the verdict of the court cant be upheld.
Ekiti nothing near to this happened and state of emergency.
ananmbra governor gone through impeachment.
this is a call to any lawyer on PNF pls kindly explain the above listed actions or Abu can u help me?

My brother that just goes to show you the level of decay in our justice system. Where illegality is allowed to continue while the just is asked to wait. God help us in this country.
@coola & pxt: mig33 requires a full internet account to work. Routing thru proxy servers won't work. And remember to select TCP as connection type

God help us in this country??? What make you think that? A lawyer pal first told me about how weak-kneed the Judges in Naija are becoming. He said they prefer to reject complex cases/assignment instead doing the right thing. No wonder OBJ and our FG decide which court orders to obey.
The Judiciary needs to work on itself. Meanwhile, may there be more ppl like Justice Ogebe who gave the ruling on Ladoja.

Area: Im not a lawyer but i think only a witch doctor can make sense of whats going on!!!!
@ALL: what make me really wonder is what does all the 11th hour impeachments mean? after 3/7yrs of eating money with both hands? This poses my next questuoon to all PNF conspiracy theorists (ie virtually all of una!!)
IS THERE ANY "OTHER" OBJECTIVE OF ALL THESE LAST MINUTE CAMPAIGNS AGAINST CORRUPTION?

i hope these politicians are not planning to destroy Nigeria, if they succeed i pity Benin Republic, Cameroun and Ghana. Imagine 180,000,000 Nigerians migrating, we will migrate and overwhelm these countries.
And u know anywhere 9ja's go we carry our wahala with us. i really pity them, we might end up running their countries for them.
