Hi Guys! I finally loaded my Glo today. They sucked up N390! But, my GPRS is still out! I don't get it. That must mean GPRS is still down in Abuja or something. @Aya MTN means MILK THOSE NIGERIANS... haven't you heard?

@bennie. Welcome back. U missed about 20 posts I guess, so start playing catch-up. What fone do u use & what was d prob? I once put my glo sim in a nokia 6800 - and d connection kept breaking. I put it back in my p800, and it glo-ed. Could be dat particular 6800 waz faulty.

@Aya: thanks, i use a samsung E715, since d day i tried downloadin an app. the fone started freezing. The thin is every glo sim is configured wit d particula make of fon used to rqst for gprs. Cos wn i tried my sim on my sis's E700 it wrkd. But on my 6100 it didnt connect. But my pal who uses a 7650, his sim wrkd on it.

Bought a Glo prepaid line 3 days back but my K500 can't get connected to wap services. Experienced same problem with my K700 days after buyind contract line, the excuse then was no such model has been connected to the network. Same story again, guys @ Adeola Odeku office said something about the system not recognising model; advised me to be patient. Rather weird,isn'n it?

@bennie. Dat cant be 100% true: I have used my sim to browse successfully on a samsung x100, siemens m55, telme t910 & t919, SE p900 & t230, & sagem myx6, besides my p800.I put in d settings 4 every single one of them.
@brym! Datz what they tell u to cover up their ignorance. The fone will browse if they know how to put in d settings. If there's a chance we can meet, I can take a shot.
I once sent a phone to mtn 4 wap config. They said server was down so it cant be done. I took the phone, fixed in d settings & was browsing within minutes! Crass ignorance. Makes u wonder whatz d citeria 4 their employment.

Sorry, I re-read ur post. Frankly, I dont know why dat happened on ur 6100. What I do know is, ur sim is activated for GPRS data. Once activated, it should work on ANY phone dat has been properly cnfigured. Thatz a technological fact.
In d case of my xperience with d 6800, it did connect, but d connection kept timing out so frequently dat I quit..

@ihe. If u had been disconnected due to no credit, after loading credit, simply restart your phone and gprs will become active again. Thatz my experience.

@ihe. In my case, as long as I have credit (no matter how small), I browse without problems. But whenever I finish d credit, gprs becomes "unattached". After reloading, I actually have to restart my phone to get active gprs service back.
EDIT: I noticed that this is post number 666 on this thread. What are d chances that if the anti-christ (or another Hitla) were to come from Naija, it would be me? Scary? No. Funny? Definitely

@momo. Welcome aboard. U wont be able to use ur p900's email client with glo's gprs wap account. U need a gprs internet account (which is available only on glo contract plan). But u can access your mails via d browser as I do. Do u use a free email like yahoo, or a POP3 mail account, so I can post d info & links u need.

@bennie. To further bttress the point about SIMs with GPRS activated on one phone working on other brands, I configured a nokia 3510i for GPRS WAP today, then inserted a SIM that had been activated on a moto c336, and we browsed flawlessly on the 3510i. That same SIM also browsed GPRS WAP on a Telme T910 today.

After almost 3 weeks break I'm back on mobile internet. Just slotted in my glo sim to k500 and the gprs signal came up,finally finally. Any other tips to reduce cost, 've disabled pix n images on phone settings. On glo free browsing era, data counter of my lost phone clocked over 222MB. Do you Remember what yours was b4 glo commenced billing?

U tried! 222mb?! I say U tried!! Unfortunately, I do not remember mine. Plus d fact dat my browsing was spread in between over 6 different phones. Keeping records was near impossible for me.
