Fortunately or unfortunately, posts 2 esato can neither b censored nor stopped. So everyone is free.

What was Ihe's award again? I suggest the Jerry Gana award for eloquence. Hi everyone, I just finished a tedious issue that just had to be written. Just read the MTN bashing....meanwhile ALL of U still have MTN! Strange ain't it? And about the Customer Care foibles, well give those Guys a break, the last training they had was in 2001 when GSM just started o!
Posted by OluYom
@coola: Which "all of " still have MTN? I dropped their line in accordance with my new year resolutions Good riddance! Bah!
Posted by ihejirika
@coola,I'll readily agree 2 it if someone say tht MTN is using juju.Times wthout number,I'v considered disposng d line wthout bringg myself 2 it.Maybe its bcos it is my 1st love.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: There is no juju. Too many Nigerians are often too lazy to do the logical thing when its staring them in the face. Why should I continue to service 2 lines? Why should I spend money on a network that continues to display disregard for me? Bye to MTNN for good. I have only Glo now. Do the right thing. Nuff said.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,ths might not sound logical 2 u but d Nigerian Telecom market is still very dynamic.I sold my 1st MTN line & had 2 acquire a 2nd one when they introduced d very product tht led me 2 another network.I'm being cautious ths time.
Posted by OluYom
Telecoms markets are dynamic in most places. Its a matter of taking a decision you can live with. For me, I found it wasteful carrying 2 GSM lines around. I simply determined what is more important to me and took a decision. I can live without the other line. My personal balance sheet will also reflect a savings of thousands of naira by Dec 2005.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,2day I keep 3 lines.Talk about taking decisions I can live wth?If its along d line of saving my pocket,I'll do away wth my glo line immediately.Different logics 4 different folks.Right?
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: Nope. Same logic, different decision. Logic is universal. The results of acting on logic will not necessarily be the same. I respect your choice of keeping 3 lines, but I still wonder why you do it :-)
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,Well! Keeping them is logical 2 me.D telecom mkt is very dynamic.I didnt set out 2 get 3 lines but acquired them one after d other 4 different results.I think it is also logical 2 b sure b4 gettg rid of anyone of them.
Posted by OluYom
The more you look, the less you see. How true is that?
Posted by ihejirika
What I find illogical is why most Nigerians keep alluding all negative things 2 themselves. They keep lookg at themselves & keep seeing less but whenever they look across d fence they see more.
Posted by OluYom
The real problem, dear friend, is that people like that have an identity crisis. They neither know who they are, nor know what they have.
Posted by ihejirika
Aya wrote;"Too many Nigerians are often too lazy to do the logical thing when its staring them in the face..." Dear friend,I honestly think tht if ths statemnt can not b defendd, thn too many Nigerians deserve an apology.I'll appreciat it.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: Wise men have said that the grass looks greener on the other side. So wise men do the logical thing: they take a closer look at the grass on their side. Many Nigerians are too lazy to take that closer look. It takes diligence & discipline to look within & discover the treasures within. That's my apologetics.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,I can figure out ur logic.I find it illogical if wise men shld throw their babies wth d bath water.Ther r many more Nigerians who diligently look within & r making good use of d treasures they find.
Posted by ihejirika
Nytshift??I'm going to bed now.I miss u guvnor.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,I also find it illogical if Nigerian wisemen shld look more & see less beyond d greener grass on d othr side 2 figure out tht too many ppl r also too lazy 2 take closer look on their own grass & then allude laziness 2 themselves.

Hi! Goodnews: MTEL is to launch its GPRS in March. MMS, Mobile internet, WAP etc... the whole gamut. God has heard our prayers! @Ihe... if U see ur posts from the net, there is a big "NEW POSTER" sign next to it. All your monologue is not appreciated by the Esato wolf???
Posted by coolapostle
I read AYA's interview the other day. Made me proud man! But... about all those phones U have used. How long do U usually use a phone? Maybe Angelgirl's elusive Father Christmas....let me stop here
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: You are getting me confused now
While MTel looks like the least likely network to take on GPRS. But, any competition on that platform is very welcome. Up MTel! MTN & Vee, over to you....

@coola,may God bless Mtel plans.I got used 2 living wth esato wolf. However,I'll check out d newbie thing. @Aya,ther r issues tht r left hanging.Begging 4 more apologetics.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,for avoidance of doubt,I feel tht Apologetics shld b applied 2 defend d real motive behind shortchanging d actions or inactions of Nigerian wisemen 4 tht of Nigerian stupid men.If not Apologetics, then an apology.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: Could you kindly post in simple English. Really, you sound like Rev. Chris Okotie & I am finding it difficult getting the jist of your posts. I no sabi gramma!
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,its an honorable thing 2 render apology when one is wrong. If I were u,I'll rather discus issues & not personalities.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: There are few people on this planet as ready with an apology anytime as I am. But I don't see any point you have made courtesy of big gramma
My point again in simpler english: A majority of Nigerians are intellectually lazy. Rather than identify potentials & solve problems, they blame everone else & look at the grass on the other side. But a lizard in Lagos is a lizard (not an alligator) in Paris. Many times, such people are part of the problems they blame on others.

@Aya,I welcome constructive criticisms.I agree tht ther r lazy Nigerians(tht they r in majority is left 4 u 2 prove)Wisemen r men who hav good sense & can decide on right actions.I reject any statemnt tht allude laziness 2 wise Nigerians.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe. That you have agreed to the fact that intellectual laziness exists among Nigerians is good. We have a common ground to start from.
Now, that it is in the majority is clearly evident, because the fruits of wisdom are always clear for all to see. The majority of Nigerians work day & night, year after year, with nothing to show for it.
A man whose salary is less than N5,000 a month has spawned 7 children. He has no functional savings account (or culture). He uses his muscles but not his head.
Someone will argue that its because of our economy (blame-shifting again), but I know a few who started poor but by reason of wisdom have built stable lives for themselves. My dad is a living example. And I know of others who started out comfortable but do not have a place to lay their heads today.
But you raised an issue which I must touch. A man cannot be wise and lazy at the same time. If he is lazy, then he is a foolish man. Every intellectually lazy Nigerian is a member of the commity of foolish men. No apologies about that

@Aya,tht d poor carpentr in d streets of Lagos suffer against all odds 2 see his son thr" formal educatn & his son who turn out a brick layer & train his sister in nursg sch"l r unwise/lazy & r not applyg their head is wht I disagree wth.

Hello. two people from nigeria wants to buy my phone I posted on ebay.. they're paying thru bidpay and the other one thru western union.. I don't know if they are scammers or is ebay really that big in nigeria?

Hi guys wats up, did i hear someone mention my elusive Father Xmas?
Well this is New Year, but i wouldnt mind a belated Xmas Gift!
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,in simplified English, ths carpenters son got a 1st class degree in University but due 2 circumstances beyond his control, ended up a brick layer from wch he also sufferd 2 train his sister.I dont see ths family as too lazy/unwise.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: Struggling & sweating are not the same as being intellectually smart. People can use their muscles a lot & not use their heads much. @alfaromeo777: I really have no facts on your question, but I do see quite some ads in the dailies touting shopping/selling on ebay.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,If this poor family who r strugglg & sweatg so hard 2 beat their presnt condition & r gettg so little 4 it r accused of being too lazy, intellectually stupid & not usg their heads,I thnk tht they deserve an apology & not blame.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: Has it occurred to you that the reason many stay poor is that they do not harness the creative potentials in themselves? The average poor person who wants to do business starts selling what everyone else on that very street is already selling. That is no being smart. They may not be poor by choice, but many times, they stay poor by ommission. A little exercise of the head would yield better results, IMHO.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,this carpenter's son doesn't intend 2 stay poor.Thtz why he exercised his head & took to brick laying wch is d creative potential in him.He didnt squander his money,he spent it traing his sister.I think you insult his intelligence.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: Good. This guy is not a pix of d majority then, bcos d majority spend their scarce funds on owambe, beer, women, aso-ebi & d sort, rather than invest in their future & d lives of others. D example u have given represents d minority. D state of our society 2day is proof enough. Apologies to dis carpenter's son, but dat doesn't blow a hole in my assertion dat d majority don't think productively.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,ths man represents d common man in ur street(ur Dad)who in d face of harsh conditions successfully walkd out of poverty whn lucky & when not lucky remain poor in d same street.Re-examine ur assertions less u b accused of ingratitude.
Posted by OluYom
@ihe: I do not believe in luck. I believe that both opportunities & troubles come to every man. God gives rain & sunshine to both good & evil men. Some are prepared & so use opportunities to move forward. Others are not (or do not recognise these opportunities) & so stay down. Some let troubles keep them down; others use them as stepping stones.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,give one Nigerian tht spends all his time partyg & I'll give u hundred tht r as wise/hardworkg/using their heads/not lazy as ur Dad.They may not b as successful as ur Dad but some wher between d line 2 d carpenter's family.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,find tht Nigerian quick.I'm running out of patience.I completed my list of hundred Nigerians last nyt.
Posted by ihejirika
@Aya,are u there?
Posted by ihejirika
Someone shld make a phonecall to Aya's best friend whom he married(African queen, intellectually vibrant, lucky wth Aya-one of d 1st Nigerians tht made my list)to do her usual devotion of waking Nigeria's great Aya from sleep.
Posted by ihejirika
Its around mid day.Since ther is no feedback,I'm beginning 2 contemplete whether Aya took our African queen on holiday to Hawaii.Does anyone know d phone code for getting Hawaii?

i read thru all the big grammer between @Ihe and @Aya... i found the "source" to be AYA's comment on all of us that still have our MTN lines when he had dropped his. meanwhile, @Ihe didn't help matters with his complex talk. so guys....simplify... so that i can join in o! basically, i agree with @ihe on some points especially on WHO can be classified as "intelectually lazy"... except if @AYA meant something else!
Posted by OluYom
Hello guys. Been driving for more than 4 hours. Went to Abeokuta & got back recently. @coola: The problem is not whether anyone keeps or drops a line. The issue is, do whatever you think is justifiable in your situation. But the results of your actions will tell whether or not you did the right thing. Can u help us with a definition of intellectual (or is it mental) laziness, pls. @ihe: I have my list ready. Whatever u say, most Nigerians cannot be that smart if most of them have nothing to show as proof of their wisdom. Or are we gong to attribute everyting to witches & wizards?
