I get your drift.Like d nija who spends N70k on a phone and does nothing but make calls. Me, functionality is king. I cant go for anything less than a smartphone. Its my office.I dont care 4 brands either (though I am sceptical of moto cos of battery life).

Posted by areaboy
Naturally i really don't like american products. They ave a large market @ home, so they hardly think b4 makin products, their cars r fuel hungry&moto is empty. About sagem, they ave started refocusin. Wit dere all new 607 puegeot sweet car &new sagem. overall there r not diff. 4m northern African. Germany - rugged, Nokia &SE r one of d best. But if not 4 sony in E life, it only b Nokia rulin d fone world. Generally everytin in life has ad & disad my conclusion.

Posted by OluYom
I dont see glo (or any network in nija) making any significant money from MMS. Its so... unexciting... There is no real need 2 send mms on a regular basis. Once they start charging, I predict WAP will rule. WAP offers more interactivity, like this forum..., checking mail.., getting news. Will send all d mms I can b4 nov 1st. After dat, its not worth my money.

Posted by areaboy
But appreciation/embraceing of new product (like Gprs) is very poor, well it's not only in 9ja, but all over d world, take 4 instant 3G fones in England, it is better, so dey say, but d consumers r skeptical bout it. Baba iyabo, has a nice economic plan 4 9ja, but he his goin about it d wrong way, not explainin his thinkin 2 d public enough. Take 4 instance Mtn once dey bring out a product. Dey will run commercials 4 weeks on endin. bcause dey know who dey want 2 reach Nigerian(special sets of people). Well let's wait & see how our dear country will do in democracy. According 2 Fela demo-stration-of-crazy(democracy)

Posted by OluYom
D Europeans r sceptical bcos 3G is not living up 2 xpectatns.Take Glo GPRS here too, its not delivering the promise of 40kbps we hear about. Many times, its less than 8kbps, little different from d speed I get when I connect with my MTN dialup.D only difference here it seems is dat GPRS offers posibilities of much lower costs.

Posted by Demmy
Not even with d off n on status of glo gprs conectivity.

Posted by OluYom
Search me o! Its not so encouraging @ d moment.D other day when I most needed it, it was off for hours on end.At least MTN/Vmobile dial up works almost consistently.Hopefully, they"ll be teething problems and b resolved soon.

Good to see this thread growing day by day. :-D greetings from India!

Posted by deeone
whizkidd thanks 4 visiting our thread. @everyone haven't had gprs 4 15hrs on end. Hope glo will resolve dis prob. Anyway thank God its back. I see I've missed a lot.

Posted by OluYom
Guys, I have given up on MMS. Its worse than WAP. Every1 I send 2 cant retrieve it mostly; plus it times out so often that it tends 2 hang my set when tryn 2 send or receive.Sorry guys, but I just wont bother with glo mms till they get their acts 2gether.

Posted by deeone
where are u guys?

Posted by OluYom
@deeone: Beats me. Any issue 2 discuss 2nite?

Posted by deeone
not really. just came back from our meeting and thought I should visit d forum b4 sleeping.

Posted by OluYom
1st thing I did this morning was check my balance & browsed a little. Checking it again after some 27kb of data showed that glo gprs wap is still FREE. Who's complaining? Hmn?

Posted by areaboy
I'm complainin. Hi guys i nearly die in d hold up 2day. I spent 2hrs 4m Maryland to Ojota. Can u imagine. Assumin a tortoise & i started a race home. I very sure it would ave gotten home b4 me. It was terrible. D cause of d hold up? A construction work @ old toll gate end. eyin guys o terrible. Yterday was Sunday it was not done then, dey choose Monday (workin day) d perfect day 4 them. Nigerian factor/way.

Posted by OluYom
My wife got home so late... What is wrong with d thinking faculties of those who take decisions regarding public affairs? D country seems to b generally "led" by morons.

Posted by OluYom
I still maintain dat nija ppl only love 2 show off with their phones. Glo has 1.8m subscribers & is running FREE (F R E E) gprs services at d moment, but how many of those 1.8 million human beings put it 2 use? I meet 'enlightened' ppl on d glo network who have no idea what WAP is, or dat they can actually browse FREE.Yet glo shouts it in d papers,on TV,everywhere, everyday. Haba!

Posted by areaboy
U guys it wasn't easy. Through out yester night i was pushin with my wife. Pushin wat u guys might ask? My car? Pushin My furniture? Nop. We were pushin! pushin!! pushin!!!, my! my!! my!!! Why r u all so eager 2 know? Let's talk about somethin else. Abi? But if u r curious 2 know what my wife pushed. She pushed 2 life a bouncing baby girl (my first born) i was dere throughout everythin. Men hin no dey easy. That explains my long absence. I'm over joyous. My joy couldn't b contained. Simple put i was happy. We thank God.

Posted by OluYom
Will be interesting to see what u guys all look like. Ha! Meanwhile, what is happening with NEPA? Or is it just my area alone dat has been blacklisted?

Posted by deeone
@aya its not only your area. I'm sitting @ d balcony just 4 some cool breeze. I watch how I use my gen these days. I"m sure you catch my drift.

Posted by Demmy
Baba iyabo said a gen is a luxury likewise owning more than one car...Leadership by example doesn't apply.

Posted by OluYom
@deeone: rich ppl like u who own gens are d ones dat inspire Baba Iyabo to talk d way he does.Me, I no get gen o!

Hi

I usually try not to interfear too much in local topics, but I could't help myself here.

When this topic first was opened I had my doubts that it would last for more than a few days, but I must say I'm happy to see that I was wrong!
The first propper African topic at Esato that has survived!

One question though; Is there only three people in Nigeria?
I mean, spread the word about Esato! Not only for this topic but for the whole forum. You guys would be able to feed a lot in to a serious amount of topics here. I can see on your post counts that you are sort of "hiding" in this topic.

I'm sure there is a few Nigerians around the world who could be an asset to this specifric topic as well.

Roll the topic on guys!

Posted by OluYom
@tranquil: U just watch our steam.D word is spreading already.Nigerians always show up.After they do, they steal the show :)

Abeg i still dey? Make una no vex? Na my baby take my time. I see our thread bcome more popular by d day. Wel done guys. @aya u said u can't afford a gen set. I would advise u 2 plug ur fone 2 ur change over box once nepa cuts power. Because d price of ur fone fit buy 4 gen sets.

Posted by OluYom
