I think it looks good... Since it is only 83 grams, it must be pretty small!

It looks quite good to me too. Simple, and not "overdone" as the 7210. But the 7210 is a nice of its kind too

The design is very classy, and the silver case makes it professional. Though there are obviously changeable covers.
'hope it won't only be available in Asia...

Looks very nice!

Available throughout Europe and APAC 3Q02
Can't wait to get my hands on it!
The high-res pics on Nokia site are quite good! This is definitely a good-looking phone.

The Nokia 6610 has 4096 colour (128x128), colour screen, 84 grams, MMS, Java (downloadable games + applications), lack of bluetooth, and NO attachable camera (ugly bums can't even copy T68 )

The initial price without subsidy is at €450 - a not so good news for Nokia fans

no thanks. anything but a nokia, nokia phone repair rate is 8-10% while it's competitors is only 3%. nokia's build quality has diminished considerably due to mass production. their phones really sucks now. waste of my money and i like the sagem my x-5 better.

Well, repair rate for T68m is 100%... to get MMS at least

Not including those who have replaced their T68 phones x times. That's no repair, just replacement...

Anyway, there is a public for each and every phone. So all will sell. Some better than others. As usual, may the best phones win!

And 6610 looks much better than the sagem (personal opinion). And has a much better screen etc. The sagem is ok, but there is something wrong with the design. It looks too wide somehow.

Thats not necessarily true! I know loads of people who wont part with there Nokia, because they dont know what the new phone will be like! They know that a Nokia is a Nokia as boring as they are, but its what they like!

I personally hated Nokia's menu system and just cudnt wait to get away from it! Icons like T68 is the way forward

There is still no guarantee that N6610 will not hang, fail, malfunction like my N6510 did!!!! Or like my old N7110 did!!! Or like my friend's N8310!!!

Agree with the icons. But not on a small phone. No point having lilliputian icons. Menus à la Nokia are quite handy for small devices.
I guess that's one of the reasons why they have released different platforms, one for each size, each having its specificities.

This is the problem that all Nokia phone have. They try and rush the new phones on the market without testing them first

Its a nice looking phone,..although it still lacks Voice-commands, email and bluetooth

New Color Business Nokia - the 6610
Monday June 17, 2002.

The Business version of the 7210, the new 6610
In Singapore yesterday, Nokia released details on what will be it´s fourth phone with a color display, the new 6610. The 6610 has the same basic feature set as the more wild looking 7210 that it announced some time ago.

This is the second high end phone in a row that Nokia has introduced that supports Tri-band GSM. Perhaps Nokia has finally caught on. Sadly, the phone does not have built-in bluetooth and the manufacturer has no current plans for making a bluetooth accessory available.

The device is expected to be made available in the 3rd quarter of this year for a price of about 450? without a contract. There appear to be no plans to release this phone in the North American market.

Here is a list of the phone´s main features:

GSM 900/1800/1900
Dimensions: 71cc, 84g
Messaging: SMS, MMS
Pre-Installed Java Applications: Converter, Portfolio Manager
Pre-installed Java games: Puzzle Chess and Bounce
3 Xpress-on(TM) Inbox covers: Black, White and Grey
3 Xpress-on(TM) accessory covers: Burgundy, Dark Blue and Green
Stopwatch
Countdown timer
Integrated handsfree speaker making it possible to listen to the radio without a headset and conduct a conference call
Preinstalled polyphonic ring tones
Pop-Port interface connector including: digital accessory identification, stereo audio, data connectivity and power output for accessory
Digital clock screensaver
Enhanced calendar
Wallpaper
User changeable color schemes for the display
PC Suite
Talktime: up to 2-5 hrs, standby time: up to 150-300 hrs
Connectivity: Infrared
WAP 1.2.1
GPRS (Multislot class 6, Maximum 3 + 1 receive, 2 + 2 send)
HSCSD
