I have upgraded my t68m 3 weeks ago. After the upgrade I recognize a very disturbing thing with GPRS. The GPRS connection when I use the WAP often die. After that, when I want to disconnect from the network I push NO for a long time, the mobile ask to live the GPRS open, I push NO. But the small earth icon remain in the screen. I try to disconnect another once (push long NO, mobile ask push NO), but disconnection isn't works. The earth remain. When I try to reconnect, the mobile say GPRS Fail. After some minutes the mobile automaticly disconnecting from network, and I able to reonnect if I want.
The other bug: the GPRS connection succes rate about 50%. About every second connection attempt isn't successful. The connecting window remain in screen, and nothing else.
Is anybody recognised this faults with new software? Is there any solution for this faults? I was trying the master reset, but isn't help. Any other idea??? Waht coud I do???????

Hi,I also experience the GPRS-bug that you are referring to. However, I have a T68i and the error came when I upgraded from R2B014 to R2B025. The \"GPRS failed\" message usually comes when I havent used the phone for a few hours. But of course it could be my operator that has messed up. I an using Telia. Has anyone else noticed GPRS problems with Telia lately? -jas

My phone suffers from the same problem sometimes, T68 upraded to i, on Orange. Never did it before the upgrade.

What software versions do you guys have?

R2B025

Am facing the same problem too and i bet that everyone has it but only those who use wap a lot will encounter this. Maybe the newer version now will solve this problem.

So maybe they have introduced a bug in R2B025 that wasn't there in the in R2B014? -Jas

I use r2b 025 too. I am sure the problem is phone software related cos I work for a mobile operator and I know the network didn't change. before the MMS upgrade the GPRS was very stable. :(

My problems almost never occur when I have already started using GPRS. My problems occur when I want to start using wap when I haven't been doing it for a while. Turning the phone off and on again usually helps, but this takes too long. This is very irritating since it is usually when I want to check the subway time-table and I am on the run --- I don't then have time to turn my phone off and on.

Hehe well i just disconnect, wait for it to disconnect completely, then connect again and it works fine.

Our 4 upgraded t68 has that problem. Our t68i with R2A014 never have that problem. Tried testin it side by side including my t39 and only the units with R2B025 has gprs problem; this happens when the gprs signal is weak; i hav posted ths situation right aftr the upgrade

@cadcad:

Yes, I have tried that too, sometimes that is quicker. But usually I am so frustrated so I want to "do something about it", and then the powercycling feel more satisfying.

Anyway: I guess we can now conclude that a bug has been introduced in R2B025 that wasn't there in R2B014. Or are there any people out there who WAP a lot over GPRS on R2B025 and does'nt have these problems?

My problems occur about once a day.

By the way:

I have a T68i, shouldn't I have R2A025 and not R2B025?

Confused.

By the way: CyTech just told us in another thread that the new software (R2E004 or something) might solve the gprs bug.

I hear that the new software r2e... or something out, but as I hear this software is for t68i not for upgraded t68m. Has anybody successfully uploaded the new software into a t68m -> t68i phone or it isn't possible? Has anybody experience with new soft?

Weak gprs signal will cause that gprs hanging. R2A014- Old sw but gprs stable. R2B025- Buggy new sw, includes sms-id problem

I just upgraded to R2E006, and it seems that GPRS works better than on R2B025. This is what I have found out myself by just trying the different versions: (Might be wrong)

On R2B025, GPRS hung when the signal strength was weak, and then it took forever to go back on again. (The easiest way was to turn the phone off and on again, but it was probably as quick to just wait.)

On R2E006, GPRS also has problems (the "Connecting" phase takes a long time), but it automatically resets itself fairly quickly. This is much better.

I have the feeling that the old R2A014 (that was before R2B025, the one the T68i is shipped with) is even better than R2E006, but it is hard to tell. At least I would be hesitant to upgrade if I had the R2A014 software.

Hmm... I have the same problem with Comviq and R2B025... Guess upgrading to R2E006 as soon as possible is the only choice right now... Hopefully this bug will be fixed in the next sw... (I doubt it though, I've had GPRS problems since I got my T68 in October, and I've went trough every sw that has been released for T68m... The best sw for GPRS I've had this far was R2D014...)

the fastest GPRS response i got came from my R2B T68m. i am now on the T68m-MMS. the gprs signal is so selective with respect to location, and the response is definitely slower... the lights turn off before it could load the page....

@ BlurryEye:I really recommend upgrading to R2E006. It is much better than R2B025 for gprs.

I'll do that as soon as I can. At least it can't get worse...

Hi, Yep my T68m with R2D was upgraded yesterday to T68i R2E.

So it is being done (at least down this end of the world).

Cheers Mike

I have the same problem to. I have t68mi with R2B025, with netcom.

I experienced the same problems after the R2B upgrade. Sent the phone off for R2E. Hope this helps

please note that some upgrades are used to fix problems with the operator, and as such is not applicable to all. example, R2B025 works perfectly with Smart (Philippines) but sucks when connecting to Globe (Philippines). my suggestion is if the current version works for you, don't upgrade it.

Posted by MFB
ArnoldC,What's the current upgrade version available at Smartnet?

Posted by jas
Well, I would upgraded to R2E006 anyway. It has some other nice features, such as making it easier to write isn't and can't. -Jas

i too had my share of problem/s regarding gprs connection, im a Globe subscriber, so what sw can you recommend for my t68mc (already upgraded to t68i) to solve the problem. Thanks !
