The design is butt ugly IMO. The ugliness has something to do with the placement of the keys, I think. especially the one with the blue casing. But I'm guessing it's an intentional move by Nokia. I meant the ugly design. A strategy which has long been working for them.
It looks worse than 7610. It's features are inferior to the 6630. Still no IR. Is nokia completely ridding all their phones of IR ?

@701 you are right there mate, another old phone in a new but ugly case. I really cant get their keypad designs (I owned a 3650 before and sold it within a month) it's not economic and gives you the feeling your trying to learn new technology

Do you put as much consideration to looks when you buy your home phone, because that's on show all the time and never hidden away, whereas your mobile is destined to spend most of its life hidden away in your pocket. I must admit im none too impressed with the look, or, indeed, Nokia's marketing angle, but to be honest its the best Nokia i've seen for a while, even if it is just the best bits pilfered from other models.

I support SE too, but it has come to my attention that most SE fans will diss other brands especially nokia, no matter what.
You have to remember SE:Nokia is like MAC:Windows, although the mac is better at a higher price, Windows can still offer good stuff.
SO consider the product before dissing it.
Its a not bad product and the 8mb internal and 64 external, thats not a bad thing atleast they offer external cough:k700:cough. Although I love SE, they get screwed by products like this, smart phones which are cheaper than SE's normal phones.
Eg. 6600 Killed the K700 although it was released much earlier its still preferd by the ignorant massed.
This will kill the S700, same camera, smart phone and same price. OUCH
i love SE and i always prefer them over NOKIA, but this is a good phone.
Its a nice housing dont pretend its ugly cause its nokia, cause its very similar to SE Candy Bar designs so dont convince ureselves that its ugly. It has very good specs so dont convince ureselves its crap. It has a fair price so dont convince ureselves otherwise.
SE fans need to learn to stop being biased and face facts.

Then I consider Nokia to be the PC and SE to be a MAC since Nokia was the ruler for a couple of years ago. Now I see more Macintosh computers and more SE phones.

But u cant insult this phone because its better than any similar SE products, due to the fact that there are no Similar SE products.
Nokia make the best smart phones
SE make the best touch-screen smart phones,
and thats why neither compete with eachother in each field

this is how business work they are out to make money
se are also a business out to make money the p series isnt hugely differnet the t series wasnt and they will do more of this. one phone cant suit every person, the 7610 is aimed at the younger 18-30 market and this is aimed at the business man.
yes its just about the same phone but so what would we complain at se for doing it and selling more phones i doubt it people would applaud them for it

all that fuzz for nothing. i know its nokia but i think we all expected a more advanced phone. its just another one of those. this one fits in between the 7610 and 6630.
and again no irda, some people still use that old technology.
the mobile market is becomming boring, no special phones, no inovation. just same old stuff again and again.

nokia will "repackage" the symbian platform many times to come. each handset will cater to different taste. just throw in different 3rd party software and u hv a different handsets.
thats the nature of a symbian O/S phone. you can just add-on functionality without redesigning the hardware.
so tomorrow Nokia can repackage symbian into a swivel like S700 and the S700 would look very out of date.
nothing beats the flexibility/capability of an O/S phone.

I dont like the look of it, but i think the spec aint bad at all. I dont like the look of a lot of nokias at the moment, i think their design department should get a right good kicking. A phone should either look like a phone, or be something radical, not pseudo-1920's style guff.
Also their keypads. What are they playing at? It is vital that a keypad is functional and easy to use, so what do nokia do? Dot the keys all over the joint, so you have to think about what you are doing, because the natural keypad layout has been moved here, there, and everywhere!

at least at Nokia you can really find a phone that suits your needs, as for SE there are not many phones, so basically you only have 1 or max. 2 posibilities to choose, which is very bad for SE.
