yesterday i went to phones4u to see how much a 128mb msd would cost for my nec 313. The guy asked me what phone it was for, so i told him. he insisted that the phone does not take mem sticks. after 5 minutes of argueing i pulled out my phone and showed him the cover of the msd slot with the words MEMORY STICK DUO printed on it he said "er, er, er we are out of stock."
so i left walked down the road to dixons and got a 128mb msd for £45.
My point is why do these people talk if they dont know what they talking about? All i wanted was a price, does it matter what phone its for? if im so stupid i dont know if my phone takes msd's then thats my problem!

All of my experiences with Phones4U have been bordered on farcicle. I have found that they can do you some good prices on phones as long as you dont want to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about. I bought a T68 from them about 6 months after they came out and the manager insisted the phone didnt have bluetooth (he admitted that he didnt know what it was). Dont expect any kind of customer service from them as they have been rude to me when I went in with a faulty phone.

Quite commo. They just know how to sell. Period.

My brother works for them they are all pushed for sales none get any training at all they just want your money

These places are all the same, I mean, they send their employees on a training course, right? Do they not teach anything about phones, is it purely on selling? I mean, one day to explain the fundamentals! It would help!

i suppose i should be happy i left without a talk talk contract or an internet isp cd!

Same goes for the customer care of networks.

They are just not getting it, that if they would make you happy you would come back for more. If they think there are enough suckers out there for every day, they are wrong. One day they gonna run out of suckers.

A while ago i went to phones4u (in bluewater) to get my k700, i went in there to get a contract and k700i the guy tired to sell me a £40 a month contact (o2) plus £80 for the k700.
I said to the guy could'nt i have a cheaper contract and he told me yes but that would mean the price of the handset goes up (which i new) so i said ok how much would the handset cost on one of the cheaper contracts and he said the handset would be... about £450!!!
I told the guy that is stupid as (at the time) i could get a sim free k700 for about £280-£300.
After i said that he got all arsey and then just blanked me and went to talk to some other sucker!
So off i went to the link, they were'nt that helpful but had the phone in the magazine and on display, when i asked about it i was told its not been released yet???
Off i went again to the CPW, sore the k700 asked the staff (a very helpful lad) about it, off he went into the back and brought out the phone and sold it to me for £59 on a £13.99 a month contract
So for phones4u i have to say... YOUR CRAP!!!

Just don't get the Phones4U insurance.
Tried to get my girlfriend to pay the excess on a phone that was still under warranty for a warranty repair.
Very clever

I used to work for them. its all sales driven. My advice buying phone from them is to never accept the first offer, and dont take any option extras like insurance or the home phone solutions.

It makes me sick to read some of these posts. Imagine not knowing about the very product you are selling. Customers are going to come away with the wrong handset. What a pile of crap they are. .

I dread to think how badly less informed customers are getting ripped off by these people!
They should make their employees spend some time surfing here to pick up some info

they are crap i think carphone where house is better has anyone else had this problem
they are only trained to sell, they should hire me i know loads about phones

It was thanks to a phones4u staff that i got a T610 and not a crappy Motorola V300 or a crapp Nokia 3200 so im grateful for that
And if it wasnt for him i probably wouldnt have found Esato in the first place

i used to work for phones4u in edinburgh over the xmas period. i do not understand how this shambles of a company is still in business. while i was there for 3 months i recieved a total of 9 days worth of sales training and no actual phone info watsoever. we werent even allowed to see the phones b4 we sold them. i was demo-ing a p900 to a customer once. i spent an hour with him and fair enough he didnt buy but at least he got all the info he wanted. afterwards my manager gave me a bollocking for spending that long with him then he didnt buy. best bit was that customer turned out to be the mystery customer and i got 89%. he wouldnt have bought regardless of how good i was. if ur reading this tam your an idiot.
i used to also get sent to the bank every single weekday morning without fail with 100s of pounds in my pocket. just so they could save a little money on the bank not picking it up. its a terrible company

Our local Phones4poo shop normally has at least 2 of its staff stood outside smoking when I go past. What a good image this portrays.
I was looking for my P800 in p4u one day and the manager served me. I explained that I didnt have the money to buy the phone that day. He still insisted on sitting me down and going through the price plans and costs for the phone. He even went as far as trying to do a credit check to see if I was ok to take out a new contract. At that point I decided to slam on the brakes and bring this episode to an end. He got quite funny about me wasting his time, even though I told him I wasnt buying the phone that day. He then proceeded to tell me that he could only do that deal there and then as he was leaving that branch on that day. I told him that I would think about it and then went to CPW where I got a very good service. Having gone past that shop several times since, the same manager has been in there.
They will Lie, cheat and do anything to swindle money out of you.

I occasionally go to my local Phones4U store for a look only and have seen some strange sights...
3 staff throwing rolled up paper at each other across the shop, and didn't even stop their game while customers were in the shop.
2 staff punching and hitting the N-Gages on display, again didn't stop when I walked in.
Blatantly damaging stock. I went to have a look at a phone case, just a look, and the guy tore open the SE heat sealed wrapper wth scissors to take the case out, to show me. I didn't buy it.

I dont understand

you said if it hadnt been for p4u you wouldnt have got t610 and probably not been here. so thats another thing to blame p4u for.
Posted by Lynx69
Why blame them? It was a good idea to have the T610 because i had tried the other phones i might have gotten and i like this phone best soo its a good thing
