Im on Voda and I pay something like £2.35 for 1mb of GPRS - quite costly now that PUSH 2 TALK is available anyone know of cost on other PAYASUGO providers

O2 Online PAYG
Costs me just 1p per connection, the rest is free up to 1GB!! (With certain Proxy Settings)

MikLSP is this 1p for every kb or just to connect

That's only for phones that can use proxies though. Shouldn't even cost you a penny to connect. O2 do a 5mb bolt on for 4 quid, that's pretty reasonable.

1p to connect.
Yes it does need a phone that can use different Proxy Setup e.g. P-Series, K/S700.

Don't know why it costs 1p but it does

I use it through a computer and it doesn't take a penny each connection. I get the odd penny lost every other week though. It might be the way your phone connects or something?

Posted by MikLSP
Perhaps. I just noticed my balance seemed to be randomly losing 1p several times a day & I thought it was SMS related but O2 told me it is for connecting to the internet.
Now I just leave GPRS permanently connected

As long as you get your pennies worth :-D

Oh I certainly do! And a few thousand other pennies worth too!!!

Tesco sim card=free gprs had mine over 2months now it uses o2 as its server

I didn't know Tesco made their own SIMs. So do they just "piggy-back" on the O2 Network?

I, too, have a TESCO SIM. I've downloaded over 19MB over 8 months and have not paid a penny for any of it.

What address & port is that using?
