I was wondering if i should wait for the HBH-660 or just get a HBH-600?

The call display feature seems like a good thing to have, but it looks a little inconvienient to use considering its place.

So what do you guys recommend? And does anybody roughly know what the price is gonna be for the HBH-660?

Thanx
Dave

Hej,

really useful this display. It also shows the battery status, which is quite important 2 me.
When I use the HBH and take it out of the shirt pocket its good 2 c
who is calling.

You have a HBH 660?

I just ended up getting the 600.
You guys think i should take it back and wait for the 660?

I dont really see a point for the screen, if i had to look at the headset to see who's calling me, then why dint i just look at the phone instead?

I think i just might keep the 600

I'm waiting for the 660. Not because I need the display, but I'm hoping that the battery like will be better on the 660. If they're about the same, then I'm just gonna opt for the 600. But until the release of the 660, I'm gonna wait.

Anyone know the release date for the 660?

I'm waiting for the HBH660 too - just hope it's not too expensive!

My opinion is that it will be expensive (not too much but certainly more than the rest of the line up) , regarding the battery I think it won't be better than the 600 and it even might be worse (remember the display is going to consume more power), and last I agree with the matter of the display being useless specially if you are going to wear the headset all the time.

At the first glance (seeing it in a photo, on someone's ear), I had the impression that HBH-660 was bigger than HBH-600. But it seems that I was wrong, because it's 72mm long, 7mm shorter than HBH-600.

The display, on the other side, reminds me of the second (color!) display of clamshells (or even of the second integrated camera? why not just use a rotative system, like some Samsung terminals whose numbers I just don't remember now ). It's a feature which can generate controversial discussions, because some will just love it, and some will just say it has no other meaning than showing off.

I just don't think the price difference is right (my last search: HBH-600, 100$, HBH-660, 160$). I guess I would choose HBH-600.

The price you got searching is almost right, the 600 is going for about $90 while the 660 will be around $160 (are you seeing the difference as too much or too little), as for the length both headsets are identical in length at 72 mm.

Samkatta, I guess that the 60-70$ difference for the sake of a display is too much (of course, if there's a, let's say...double battery life, it would worth the money).

As for the 79mm length of HBH-600, it's from http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=789 (they do, however, mention that it's an approximate figure)

It's all getting close to like the earpiece worn in Star Trek... Might just wait to see the UK price before deciding, but I don't need to get mine untl January next year,

HBH-660 started to appear and it is retailing for about 190$

wow it's very expensive if it's true $190. better to buy 600, because for me the display is useless. or perhaps 330 even more interesting in design

I think that HBH-660 is slated for an October release. I guess we'll find out by the end of the week.

If you want access to the display at all times, try this little "onvention" I made:
