I have a k700i, and was shocked when, I got bluejacked by a nokia 6600!
My BT was set to invisible ( i.e. they shouldnt have found me). And they could send me files and everything. It downloaded to my phone without asking me if i wanted to accept it!
How can i stop this. This is just wrong, its ok for SE to BlueJack nokia phones, but the otherway is just wrong!
Please help me sort this out.

As u all know, all big stories come with a conspiracy theory!I know,u say u just wanna point out,not to make anotha theory but..most of these talks mean hypotetic theories..which is just the same. The facts remain and history show us that most of the theories will crumble if media or the law will give em attention.

he posted that in th e9/11 conspiracy thread and was probably an accident this time.

There r special programs to overide ur settings. Keep it on off.

BT off is safe sex on cell phones, otherwise you can get bluejacked, hacked or infected.

BT was set to hide.
It is not a conspiracy.
What happened to the messages like, Do you want to recieve...? and what happened to pairing?
I was always asked with my T610

As 701 said the nokia guy must be using sman or something to over ride settings.

Maybe he used some app for bluejacking.

ive got plenty of them
there should be some setting to manually accept it

Ive tested pretty much all the bluejacking apps there are, and none of them are capable of overiding the settings you have on your phone.
If someone is able to send things to your phone without you asking, you've either paired with their phone OR the files that got sent without permission were phonebook contacts that had attachments, such as images or sounds.
The only other explanation would be that the device that did bluejack you was a laptop pc, and you were bluesnarfed, not bluejacked. But then, thats not very likely to happen.
How do you know it was a Nokia 6600 ? the 6600 cannot bluesnarf..
yet.

as i then searched for devices and found a 6600!
Posted by etaab
Only because you found a 6600, it doesnt mean it was that phone.
It could have been any phone with its Bluetooth set to undiscoverable.

my classmate just got bluejacked with a virus that destroyed her phone o.s. who the hell made this? bastard!
also, on a lighter note: what do you call when you want someone to send data to you via b.t? tooth me your info? you know like when you use your Ir, "beam me your info". any answers?

Out of topic: When I am bluejacking, I need to shearch and send a contact with text, right??? But when I do that I can't exit till the guy (or girl
Posted by etaab
Try bluejacking a SE phone.. they accept on their own.
I wish i got $1 everytime i had to say the above sentence.

Thanx, but what if there is really pretty girl wich have some nokia, and if it is set to silent, so she don't hear it? And I really like her... Then what?
Posted by etaab
Then she wont get the message.
There is a trick i use though. When you try to send something to a Nokia and it waits for the owner to say yes, it makes no noise and doesnt vibrate.
But, if you attempt to pair with the Nokia, enter a passkey, then click ok, it will alert the Nokia owner by making a noise or vibrating.
THEN, when their attention is drawn to the phone, cancel the pairing, and try to send them a contact again while they're looking at the phones screen. It doesnt work every time, but it does work sometimes !

Turn off bluetooth

This is just funny and stupid. You are acting like you have been raped. And you think its ok to bluejack nokia, but when someone bluejacks you its not ok? Grow up man.

@ Eulogy
WOAH. Calm yourself.
The point of this thread was that everyone with SE goes on about their bluetooth being good, and these "poor blokia" users with there bluetooth on.
I was just making the point that the SE bluetooth was not so secure.
I was making a "grown up" point!
Posted by Eulogy
What i saw was whining. Thats my opinion. And its not new to most people that bluetooth on SE is not that secure. Check out the list of phones that can be bluesnarfed. What do you see? Most of them are phones from SE.
Posted by etaab
Really...
http://www.thebunker.net/release-bluestumbler.htm
From that table, it would appear that Nokia phones are far more at risk than SE phones...
The SE phones listed may be vulnerable when their Bluetooth is visible..
But the Nokia phones are vulnerable even when their Bluetooth is set to invisible !
So really.. you're talking bullsh@t !

So you can just sent files to a bleutooth user without him having his bt on ?
Posted by etaab
No, even bluesnarfing relies on Bluetooth being on.
