What do you think about this (almost finished) game?

GDTR.jad
GDTR.jar

If you have another phone than P900, T610/T630, K700 or Nokia 6610 it would be interesting to hear how well it runs... It is supposed to work on "all" java phones.
Thank you!

Posted by buckle247
hi, it works really well on a k700, very smooth, but it would be better if you could increase screen size for a full screen game.

**EDIT** Game is quite addictive, even though it is fairly simple to look at, am on the hole level, and failed about 10 times now.

I'm not the only one responsible for the game, I'm one of three.

Thank you very much for the feedback!
And good luck on "Hole"...

Many thanks

doesnt seem to work on my t610. firmware is waaay old on it though, maybe thats something to do with it.
after selecting the game, the "JAVA powered" picture appears and just stays there.
should be getting a 6230 soon so il try it out on that phone too.

Posted by Baptiste
Works perfectly on my Z600!
I've finshed all levels available on DEMO-version.
Would love to have the full version. let me know when it's ready

Posted by tors
GaZ,
it might very well be because of the old firmware. I haven't seen the game not starting because of that but that it runs really slow on the older firmwares. Would be interesting to hear how it runs on the Nokia 6230!

Baptiste,
thanks for testing it on the Z600! Good to hear it is playable.

Have a nice day!

great game it runs smoothly on k700, haven't tried it on others....
anyway a great game but i have a suggestion, why don't you make the accelerator key on let say 0 so that you can always press it?

Posted by ZN
cool game!

runs well on my z1010 in fullscreen.

good work!

Posted by buckle247
i'm still playing this loads, just trying to beat my top scores.

Posted by jcwhite_uk
Great game. Works on my T610, but a bit slow.

Posted by synagence
Nice game...works well on my R2l K700i, let us know when you release it fully...excellent work!!!

Posted by ares
Just one word for this game: wow!!! Iīm impressed, the phisics and gameplay are fantastic. Will the final version have sound????

Posted by etaab
What a great game !

The only thing i dont like is the controls. You should make it so that RIGHT is to accelerate, LEFT is to brake, UP is to lean back on the bike, and DOWN is to lean forward.

Maybe also use 2 or 5 as the accelerator too.

btw, is everyone elses game just a wire frame type of thing, as mine doesnt have any textures.

Posted by plasmadog
very nice and simple game.

loaded it onto my t630, works gr8, R4C003 fw.
cheers

@etaab, check this animated gif:

In my k700i, the grafics have the same look...

Posted by tors
Thanks for the feedback!

About the input, I recommend "Keyset 1" for right handed players with a SE phone (They have simoultaneously pressable keys) where "1" is accelerate and "4" is brake. "5" is lean backwards and "6" is lean forwards. Theese may (and should) be combined.

The short answer on sound included in the full version is "No".
The long answer contains many pros and cons and will finally result in "probably in the sequel" or a simple "maybe". No one in the team is specialized in sound engineering. But yes, sound would indeed enhance the gameplay! We'll see what happens.
Many thanks!

Posted by buckle247
How long has it taken you so far to develop the game this far?

I was play ACROSS today, and it runs really bad on XP, it is better to play this on the phone.

Posted by ares
Tor, thankx for the answer!!! Sound would be nice, but itīs a great game even without it.

Btw, i just finished the last track, the wiked Modesty, in 1m21s I found that the best way to play it is using only the joystick, because that way i can quicly accelerate and perform another movement almosy at the same time - to do this in the keyboard is a pain in the a...

Umm stupid question but how do i install this game? If i need to transfer it on my phone, where do i put it and how do i activate it?

Posted by worldmusicuk.com
Nope, my bad. Got it installed. And YEA, one very smooth looking game. Reminds me the days of trailbike on miniclip. Very good game. Nice physics[sp]

Posted by Dragonfly_TP
Okay the wap site worked, but not the download. I see it and it say 59kb. I press download and get the following error: Inpossible to access GravityDefiedDEMO

Posted by joebmc
This game is great, very much like trial bike (online game, found at miniclip.com).

Cant wait till its finished, i take it that this wont be a free game when finished?

Posted by ares
Off course, but this is one those i donīt mind paying for

Posted by joebmc
I too must admit that I would pay for a game like this (obviously the finished version).

Posted by whentheleveebreaks
I too will buy this game. AT first i thought it was a bit poo and finished all the demo level with ease, now all i do is try to get the best times possible on each level and now im really enjoying the game. Whats everyone elses best scores?mine are (on 175cc)
easy -intro 00.05.82
-shorty 00.07.30
-hole 00.16.86

id love to know what times everyone else has got.

I didnt bother putting the medium scores on because they are crap at the moment

Posted by ozzilla
(175c) easy -->
intro: 5.98s
shorty: 6.98s
hole: 15.82s

Posted by joebmc
(175cc) easy
Intro - 5.96
shorty - 7.40
hole - 15.78 (was higher but beat the score on the train home from work )

Posted by SnowBear
On my t610 it just frees'es up at pic 3?

Posted by whentheleveebreaks
00.34.44 on modesty

Posted by tors
Hey, impressive times you guys have!

Hmm, about that T610... It would be interesting to know which firmware version you are running. Have never seen a freeze in that part of the game (Very nice photo). It might have to do with the memory running out on your phone but I'm not sure.
Try choosing "Options" and disable Sprites before starting a track.

Here is a list of firmware versions for the T610 that have been tested:

R1A081 - Java-powered log shows up, game won't start
R1A/R1L013 - Way too slow
R3C00* - Playable but slow

PS.
Looking for someone willing to try out a development version on the P800 (currently not working).

Posted by deepy
hehe wow loving this game.....it reminds me of a game i got reallllly addicted to a few years back called "Action Supercross"....which for some reason was remade by the maker and renamed to "Elasto Mania". If i had to say then i'd say you've based your game on this! and you've made an amazzzzzzzzing job!!! i mean it really is amazing lol

Posted by SnowBear
Elastomania one of my top 3 games in computers and then i see this game !! but i dont work this made me sad .. looks soooo funny !

im running R1L013 on my t610

Posted by MTNT68i
Could you post a some screen shots of the game?

Posted by SnowBear
@MTNT68i talking me ?? and what game elma or this cool java game ?

Posted by ozzilla
with 175 cc i got 22.90s but not without a lot of crashes!

Posted by ares
@MTNT68i, are you too tired to click in page two and see the animated gif??? Why are you asking for screenshots???

Posted by Johnex
I have the game for the computer if you guys are interested.....: http://johnex.se/?area=trial :-)

Posted by otrofox
24.48 on Modesty-175cc (actually pretty lucky)
16.02 on Hole-175cc

The trick is that I'm playing on my K700 (faster than T610)

Posted by Cycovision
Going back to the T610 freezing issue, I've tried the game with R4Cxxx Firmware (which you didn't list as a current tested version) and haven't experienced any freezing. The game seems to run a little slow maybe but that's just the T610 I suppose.

Still one of the best games I've ever played on the T610 though!

Posted by Dragonfly_TP
Hi there,

I finally could download the game. I think there was a proble with the wap gateway? anyway it is too slow on the sharp GX10i to have fun with the game (not as slow as the T610, but still too slow). But the game is good! I will test it later on a K700

Posted by tors
otrofox,
The time elapsed is not real-time, it is the actual physics time so times are comparable between devices.
Of course one can discuss if it is easier or harder to control the bike on a slow/fast device.

Cycovision,
Thanks for testing on the R4C firmware! Good to hear that it runs. Enjoy

Dragonfly_TP,
Sweet that it runs on the Sharp! Was a little worried we had missed something... Thank you very much!
