Hello everyone, today I would like to ask each and every one of you for your help with a very serious problem facing Esato, the overuse of smileys. This year alone more than twenty thousand smileys* have been used to decorate otherwise dull posts, at the rate we are using smileys they will be extinct before the end of 2005.
The damage this is causing to Esato is beyond measure, there are already some species of smiley on the brink of extinction. Poachers are rounding up hundreds of smileys to sell on the black market where they fetch a good price. According to recent Wild Smiley Foundation (WSF) findings most black market smileys are crammed into posts with as many as twenty other smileys, each fighting for room and attention.
Take the case of Happy Face, a smiley caught in the poacher's nets and sold on to be used as decoration in a post. He had wondered the streets for all of his life, overcoming anti-animation prejudice to find work in a broom factory, that was until the broom factory closed after it was discovered that the brooms contained dangerous levels of mercury, arsenic, bromide, asbestos and some other mildly irritant chemicals with long names. Turning to the bottle he found himself hooked on a eight bottle a day habit, forcing him to sell his meagre posessions to buy more Vimto. Alone and destitute he was forced to find work decorating posts with the biggest smiley factory in town Mr J's Smiley Emporium; paid a shilling a month and given lodgings along with eight hundred other smileys, with only one toilet between them.
It was at this point that Happy Face met and fell in love with Projectile Vomit Face, his beautiful girlfriend. With her help Happy Face managed to kick his habit and they were to be married. Unfortunately our staff weren't informed of this change in circumstance when we found Happy Face and we shot him to put him out of his misery.
With your help we can make sure that no other smiley has to endure what Happy Face endured, with your genorous donations we can make sure that posts have adequate facilities for all their smileys and we will bring down pressure on Esato to ensure that no post has more than five smileys.

I blame @JN for his gross overuse of the worlds smiley resources, resulting in a shortage that could threaten the worlds ecology! I believe we should be represented at the next G8 summit, and ask for a law to be passed regarding the rationing of smileys, and in particular i believe we should have Mr. Blix inspect @JN's property for WSD's. I believe it is imperitive, as aside anything else, all those smileys make his posts impossible to read.

Smilys in a forum are intended to be a substitute for body language and facial expressions we use in ordernary conversations face to face.
If they are used the way thay are intended they are a very handy tool but over use of them will only confuse the readers.

OK, OK, OK, OK - So I'm the 'STAR' of this thread - again
For no particular reason I am just obliged to air my side, and it's as simple as this 
Send @laffen a 'pm' , an open - letter will greatly do as well, to 'delete' all the 'smileys' in it's data base, also, put an end to the use of the 'smileys' here at esato, so that it will just be fair to all 
I am just 'utilizing' some features of esato have, and my humblest apology to whoever it have caused trouble with In fact, I guess that a 'smiley/image' is more suitable to read and view compared to a post with having just a simple text reply on it - of course, admittingly, I've just overused it dudes - well, that's just my style - you just have to bear with it till my last day here at esato No contest !
