I was wondering whether Floats Mobile Agent worked with the k700i. I currently use it with my T610 but I will be upgrading soon. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work but I just thought I'd ask.
Posted by masseur
yep. I haven't tried it myself but there are a few threads which say it does work though I do vagually recall it might not be 100% compatible with all functionality of FMA
worth a try for yourself anyway

Same as masseur, didn't try yet, but probably will.

I am using FMA with my k700i connected to a PC via IR...not faced any problems yet except FMA is unable to read the custom folders being created on the phone for example if i create a folder named f1 under pictures, FMA will not read the f1 folder and its contents instead it will read only the pictures folder....any solutions for this?

The latest version of FMA is fully compatible with the K700s folder system. Go to the official site and download it:

For those wanting to use FMA, my recommendation would be to:
1. Download the latest version from http://fma.sourceforge.net/
2. Download and Install latest Widcomm drivers (1.4.3.4). They can be downloaded from IBM, MSI and a number of other companies. They are device specific, however, so you will need to patch them if you are not using the drivers for your specific bluetooth dongle. See http://www.jonsguides.com/bluetooth/ for more information.
2b. If you are using Windows XP SP2, follow the instructions I gave in the following thread to get the Widcomm drivers working. Don't use the native WXP SP2 drivers as they are rather limited:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=67374#post886429
3. Ensure you create a Shortcut to one of your phone's Serial Ports. Right click on the shortcut and do a manual connect. You should be told what virtual COM port your phone has been assigned to.
4. In Tools / Options in FMA, on the General tab ensure Serial Port is selected and the Port matches the virtual COM port attached to your phone.
5. Go to the Appearance tab and change the Compose Message Transparancy windows to the value 255.
6. Hit connect. You should now be ready to go.
Hope this helps!

Hiya,
i am using FMA with
1. K700i
1. a Belkin F8T001 usb dongle
2. WinXP
with no problems whatsoever.
note: i did try to use the SE software out of curiousity, however, it made my machine hang. all the SW that SE give you with thier phones has been crap in my opinion. Thank the Gods of Tech for FMA! SE should kidnapp him and enslave him to make all thier SW. [sorry but it would be better for the world]

I've used the latest version of FMA to get some vids/music onto my k700i, but the next time i started FMA up, it came up with an error. I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling. No effect. Any suggestions??

in what way is the native sp2 bluetooth limited? i found it to be a lot more reliable than the crappy drivers i got with my blue monkey dongle.

I've tried fma with my k700i (R2A and R2L) over bluetooth and after some problems connecting got it to work. It seems to be working fine though some features seems to be unavailable. I haven't used fma extensively so unfortunatly I can't get in to details on what is working and what is not.

http://www.jonsguides.com/bluetooth/
Has some pulled info re: bluetooth drivers and some guides... anyone have another URL or info that they could share about the widcomm drivers?

Forgot to mention. I am no r2l

SP2 Bluetooth is limited in profiles it supports. For example I can't send files to the computer from my T68i, using SP2 bluetooth. There are lists of profiles that SP2 stack supports and which the Widcomm supports. The last list was a lot longer...

Can anybody say if I can connect to my T630 using the USB Cable DCU-11 and FMA?

That should work.

I have tested floats with my S700 today and most of it works perfectly. There are a few strange bits though. FMA is showing that my battery voltage is 37.86 volts and that the battery temperature is 1135 decrees c! Wow thats hot.

That's a known issue (with the K700/S700 and FMA). SE changed the format in which battery voltage and temperature are sent back to your PC. It has been corrected in the latest version of FMA. (I can verify that it’s been rectified for the K700
FMA relies on bug reports sent by end users. Please report any bugs on the official FMA forum.
Cheers!
