SMS on K700 problems - Esato archive

Hello Everyone!

My K700 seems to have a problem with receiving text messages.

Sometimes it receives them fine, but most of the time I go through the day without receiving any, then all of a sudden, 5 or 6 come through in one go, usually ones that were replies to messages that I sent the day before.

I sent myself a message yesterday, and didn't receive it until this morning?

I tried to ring O2 customer services, but they tried to fob me off saying it must be a problem with the people that send the messages to me, and that there is nothing wrong with my phone!

Has anyone got any ideas?

I had the same problem with a phone on the Vodafone network a few years ago. Sometimes the message wouldn't deliver at all. I approached Vodafone about this and they put the blame on the other network operators. However, one guy did mention that some mobile phone numbers do have trouble with SMS.
At the end of the day, I don't think a mobile operator will admit liability, they'll always pass the buck some where else.

Your phone should be fine. We had a similar problem when SMS just started to boom here in the Philippines. The providers just upgraded their facilities eventually and everything went back to normal.
