How do I download jpeg pics to my se t230

I have seen a post like this some times ago, at least the title was relevant but not the post. Let me ask my question now.

On the Sony-Ericsson site, I can save my pictures from my computer (transfer) as you all know, and download it from wap to my phone. My phone accepts jpeg up to 4k color depth. Each time I uploaded pics from my computer to SE website and downloaded it to my phone, it was transformed to gif, and became very ugly(less than 100 colors). I also tried on my provider's mms website and it gave the same result. However, I could download a pre-installed pic(bubbles) from the SE website in jpeg. Should I convert my pics in wallpaper on the website? What should I do to receive pics in jpeg?

Get a data cable and transfer the pics directly from your pc to phone.
