Sorry, but how do mean giving connections free?
Posted by zuhib
Actually in pakistan there is no such system like people taking phone on contract it is just like u purchase phones from the market and can subscribe to any service provider
Posted by BobaFett
I see. How many providers u have and how is the service of them?
Posted by zuhib
@bobaffet. We have 5 service providers here and all of them have excellent services. calls within the country r free but they do charge calls within the city too much competition i suppose

Our country isn't giving free connections tomorow :-(

they r charging 5 rupees per mega byte for gprs. Then i guess we have the most cheap service provider in the world
Posted by Ayush
For me it's 99 rupees pm for unlimited usage :-D

Is there cdma there in pakistan?
Posted by brix25
I think Pakistan uses GSM. In South Africa whe have 3 providers, 18 million cellphone users, and you can get a connection(on PAYG) for about a $1.50.
Posted by zuhib
Actually we have 3 GSM and 2 AMPS service providers in Pakistan

Amp?!
Posted by zuhib
Analogue Mobile Phone Service. It doesnt uses SIM remember the old nokia 6120
Posted by whizkidd
CDMA too doesn't use sim as far as know.
Posted by shyam335
I heard some cdma networks in china uses something similar to sim .
Posted by whizkidd
But there are sim card slots in cdma phones doesn't they?
Posted by hunting hawk
Thats an offer u cant refuse coz pakistan rarely gives free stuff

Telecommunication is really going cheap like calls from land line phone in PK are free after 12:00 AM. A service provider from norway won the licence to start in pakistan but was later rejected bcuz it didnt had the sum of $18million for the licence. There is too much competition over here

amps is way way older than cdma.
