Anyone know another site like that Commercial Break & Beats but where the audio is free?

Search google for the song you want.
But don't search for mp3, search for midi:

So you will find a lot of pay-service sites where you
can order midi-ringtones and there you can listen
to downloadable mp3-previews

That's only a tip

How can he search for the song if he doesn't know what it's called?

That's the first step you have to do.

Often you can find some tips on the advertiser's site
(if it has one), otherways you have to search for with
the 'right' words on google. (example: 'theme' )

There you often get links to lyrics where you can found
the artist,perhaps the title itself.

Or if you know a part of the lyrics of the song, search for this.

It's not so easy, but it worked fine so for me in the past
few months.

EDIT: if you also can speek other languages, search for the same word in the other language (so i do)

Sometimes if you e-mail the company, asking nicely, they'll give you the name & artist, i e-mailed Matalan once, because on their Autumn advert, the music was so good! It tuened out to be "windmills of time"
