I have a problem here that must have been a problem for a lot of people.
I'm not from the US but I bought a cell phone there, over the internet. A Nokia 3595. It's a dual band cell phone (850/1900).
When it arrived in Brazil, I found out that it doesn't work because in here there is just one GSM band (1800). Is there something I can do to change my cell phone band so it fits Brazil's band?

sorry, I'm afraid the best thing you can do is try to return the phone or sell it online. You will just have to buy a new one.

There is no way at all that I can change it?

Is there any chance that they may add another GSM Band here in Brazil?
There is just 1800 in here. Is there a chance that they may add 850 or 1900?
If no, why not?

No way possible to change the came of a proof mate. As for the network, a new one would have to be built costing some poor sod more than the national debt across there-sorry mate mite as well sell it on! :-(

@lovewalrus-is it possible to be more incoherent?

No way of modifying the phone since the band compatibility is in hardware. Phones are either 850/1900, 900/1800 or 900/1800/1900. Buy a phone which is compatible with your network as the chance of your telco supporting other bands in the future is slim.

Its all pll(phase locked loop) controlled by a 16pin ic,so no is the simple answer.
