All standard features like mms ,gprs etc. he also want a good looking phone ,thats why i cant blindly recommend 230.he dont want camera .

Of the given choices: M55, though iīd consider S55 instead. They may not be SE phones but they play in another league than the SE T230 feature and performance wise, just a fact.
EDIT: I have yet to see a Siemens A or C model impress me.. i guess the T230 falls somewhere between Siemens A and C, and theyīre all decent value for money, but generally boring

Yeah,they are in another league,but there is a huge gap in price between 230 and 610 here,there is no intermediate solution from se in this range.so the only se i can say is 230, Thats y

I agree 100% @bart that 230 is a quality phone with good features,but he also want good looks and design,im not telling 230 design is bad,but some simens has weird but good looking designs ,thats y.as i said earlier i cant bridge the gap between 230 and 610 here...

S55 is awfull, it really is.
T68i yeah great phone. i know there still selling them at expansys. they still take new stock of that phone once in a while.
siemens has got some nice phones, design is personal.
but don't be tempted by a ST55 or a C60
the buttons are bad. on the C60 they sometimes get stuck (alot of complains from custumors).
So a T230
or a T68i
nothing else mate
in the end he'll fall in love with the design anyway

From the phones mentioned, I would definitely choose the SE T230, as I know a couple of people that are very satisfied with it.
However, I don't have any personal hands-on experience with the other phones.

I would recommend a T230 cause thats a lot of phone for what you pay. It has great features and is easily the best deal in its class. The minus points are the absence of ir and the screen whaci is a nightmare in sunlight. Siemens phones kinda look flashy and over exaggerated dumb design.

t230. tried and tested, all round features.
maybe he should try the lg or benq ones.
benq has a good cheap phones, and i like the samsung n100 (i'm not sure if this is the model number... the ad in which purab from channel v is in)
oh, yeah saw this offer at metro (supermarket) in bangalore, u can get a philips flip monochrome display and a philips colour phone with cam for like 12,000 bucks. i think its a super deal.
maybe he should just get a feel of all the phones and see what he likes best, cos even though we might reccomend a phone, its up to him to buy what he's comfortable with. most phones these days, on the whole come with same features.

there is no need to test the other smaller brands. as long as we are happy with the famous brands theres no need.
LG has got a nice menu thx to ericsson liccense, but the phones can be alot better.

yeah but again, there is a price/features comparison.
if u want a cheap phone with no frills and no features.. buy a benq or lg or whatever.
but, if u want a well crafted and neatly balanced phone with great quality, buy se!!
as simple as that.

I didnīt mention other phones than those listed as choices, but yes, a t68(i) would also fit the bill.
Oh, and Bart, have you actually owned a S55? I have and still do. Only serious bug i have had since feb. -03 is the "DRIVE ERROR" where the adress book becomes unaccessible, but that was way back when. Have upgraded the phone myself three times since then (you know, Siemens has an online update service that works!) *are you listening, SE staff?*
IMO S55 is a t68i on steroids! Itīs nothing fancy today, but bear in mind that it was cutting edge when presented! And if you have the choice between a year+ old BMW or a new Seat at the same price, the choice is not hard for me anyway!

Don't like it in comparison to s55.The s55 had a flash on the attacheable cam(worked reasonable in dark too),and the mmf tones sound,and still sound excellent.T68i ok,much much prefer 55.I miss mine,in a funny kind of way.

go for the m55 great little phone easy to use or fpr the same money you could get a nokia 5100 same sort of features plus you can drop it dropped mine off my house still works fine

The s55 had bt,it had profiles and the siemens after care, was infinitely better than se.Ringtones superior to t68,excellent batt life,and nice filesystem.Had a t68,the s55 was far superior.

Well,im a bit confused.if he buys any simens he cant get any accessories here easily such as hands free , data cable and so on. But regarding se,accessories are available,but for 230 which data cable to buy , after market cables are very cheap here,t28 or t39/t68 ? Most of them sell t28 cables!
