yes and yes but it comes with some

Posted by andie
cool, i have applied for one. i just wanted to listen to my music 'on the go'

Posted by nhs03
i really wouldn't consider it an MP3 player, the phone doesn't have that much memory to hold many songs, and as they already mentioned it does come w/headphones. want an MP3 player? get an IPOD (if ur in the states)

Posted by Atlis
You can store songs on MS - and IPOD is also available in Europe yet...

Oh guys, which 700i are you speaking of .... S or K

Posted by wapchimp

@andie - I hope you could have just waited for the SE S700 one mate, it's better than the K700/i - I guess

dont buy a ipod!!!

get a mp3 converter and make ur mp3s lower quality and u can fit about 20 songs on

iPod's are brilliant, especially the 4th gen' If you want an MP3 player iPod is perfect, simply amazing!

Posted by Jim
Yeah I love the battery warranty .... forget ipod

Posted by mmsman
any mp3 player is better than k700 in terms of: ta da (drum roll) playing mp3's, lol
anyway even the s700 only has normal duos so i guess it isn't that useful, if you really wan't a small phone with mp3 i guess you should check 6230, i think it has stereo sound....

the K700i should definately not be considered as an mp3 player especially with it's low memory capacity (42mb with no other files). Lowering compression really detriorates sound and with the earphones that come with the phone, it's just a pain and insult to music. Only a dedicated mp3 player can be considered at the moment, as phones just aren't up there yet... and the only mp3 player really worth considering is the iPod.

get an iRiver!

6230 Don't do stereo!

Posted by joebmc
Yes get an iRiver (kicks ipods arse)

Posted by sitalchauhan
i have 2 friends, one with an iPod and one with an iRiver. I prefer the iRiver by a large margin. Not many people have hear of the iriver and it is much better than the iPod. It has many more features and supports more codecs, but it is bigger than the iPod. However, it comes with a free remote control with a large screen on it that you can control everything with it, so u just keep the iriver in ur pocket and use the control to change songs etc.
I might be getting an iriver soon hopefully ...

hang a minute.... does the k700 have stereo sound??

Posted by milmino
yes it does

Your better off getting the brand new sony mp3 player. It holds 13,000 songs, on just 20gb!Unlike i-pod which only holds 5,000!And it has 30 hours of battery life!AND it works out much cheaper. :0

yeah. if you really want an mp3 player that badly get an ipod mini! it works as a file manager too! just drag and drop. always drop........

@andie: Welcome to Esato!

No, both the SE K700 and the SE S700 are phones , but they are both phones with somewhat limited MP3 capabilities .

i think the s700i is a fine mp3 player...

1 128 stick holds about 40 songs that's plenty for the average trip to work... bus to school etc..etc...

that's plenty..all you poeple with 3000 songs in your ipod..do you ever get a chance to listen to them all??

i had one put about 300 songs in.. that's about it...

s700 is a better all-in-one solution for me... i just throw other songs in at the end of the night..with a cardreader

Posted by clank
Yup if you want a proper mp3 player get a iriver ihp120...same size and audio quality as an ipod along with a heap of other features to kick the ipod's ass.

Posted by Raaab
second up here for saying that the s700i is fine for playing mp3's. it aint no ipod/iriver beater, but it'll hold a couple of albums and play em fine in stereo. No problems with mine. Seems a nice touch to have on a phone.

If you're referring to K700i, then it has a small internal memory to be a real mp3 player and it doesn't have expansion option. It supports stereo but if you want to listen to high quality stereo music you can only keep about 8-10 songs. The stereo earphones that comes with it doesn't sound good enough IMO if you want to listen to good music, the sad part is that you can't use just any good quality stereo headphone/earphone as it uses a different plug.

The S700i however has practically the same features except that the camera is 1.3MP and the memory can be increased using MS Duo.

Posted by p900 lover
what ever we are talking about be it K or S its not a good mp3 player, i have a p900 at the mo and yes i do have about 30 songs on it but i want more plus the ipos looks sooo good.

Posted by blackspot
yeah, more is always better. The media player could also use some playlist management features.

Posted by DragonEye
just groups the songs in folders .. easy as pie.. but a mark to play function would be good...

i have both they sound the same to me

@omnislash, what kind of head-to-head comparison did you make?

Posted by DeLa
I think the MP3-player in the K700 produces acceptable sound quality with of course the included headset. The capacity is not enough for more than a handful of songs. Also putting music on and off again takes ome time. Therefore a real MP3-player like an Ipod is a different kind of device where you put everything you have on. You can't compare the two.

But don't forget the radio. I have had quite some portable radio's, including a Sony with RDS, and not one of them beats the reception capabilities of the K700. Even in a train it has good reception. It is as good as a car radio. Unfortunaltely you can't store station names but that is a minor glitch.

the mp3 player on the k700i has excellent sound quality... try throwing a high bitrate mp3 on, and you'll understand.. the space is a limit, but 128kbps is enough to pack 6-7 on and listen to them when you can't use the radio (or pack a cool ringtone).

Before you guys go ipod crazy check out not only iriver but also sony, samsung, rio, and more. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

No its a piece of junk

About memory capacity of k700, I think that you do not know this :

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/1021.htm&view_all=1

It is usable with k700 and the MMC arrives to 1Gb.

The only problem is how fast the battery goes off ...

Posted by blackspot
yeah, that's really interesting.
