for those who applied for smart/ globe promo and were told to wait a few days for approval.
my questions are:
1. have you claimed your unit yet? which unit?
2. which particular smart/globe center were you able to get your unit?
3. when were you able to get your unit?
4. when did you submit your application?

@steer - What a username mate
Thirdly, as to the duration, I guess it will take weeks to a month for your handset to arrive for claiming

I got my Xda2 from Smart a week after I submitted my application at the Smart Tower. Though it was an individual subscription, it was handled by a Corporate account officer.
I only submitted copies of the ff:
1. Driver's license
2. Credit Card
3. Credit card billing statement (3 months)

Well, I just submitted the ff: credentials when I got my Nokia 7610 handset same day retrieval -a walk-in applicant
1. Billing Statement - Meralco/PLDT
2. Credit Card/Billing statement (c/o my Dad, mine not accepted)
3. Bank Statement/Passbook (with 8 figures on it, of course it's my Dad's too -
that's all . . .

wow, you guys are lucky.... i've also heard that smart alabang has already been releasing units....
damnit..... i'll never go to smart binondo again... that place seem to be last in receiving their allocated units...
i've applied my xda2 way before the promo began and had been approved a week before the promo began and i still have not received my xda2...
i'm beginning to think that the center stinks...

I thought they've had adequate supply of XDA2's.
Don't fret... since you're approved already, you might want to call them up and ask about your application, diba?

still no xda2... this is getting frustrating.....

Switch to Platinum plan: get your xda the next day

you'd get your units faster when you apply at globe, under a week for their promo.
smart..... i've ordered mine way before the promo period, and it has now been a month with no xda2 to show.... i wonder how many years i have to wait.... celphones might be obsolete by the time i get mine.

@steer - I guess you better make a 'personal appearance' at the Business Center where you've applied for a new XDA

actually, i was contemplating on whether to use this xda2 or just sell it and wait for the xda3.
but the xda3 has nothing worth waiting for. i personally feel that the slide out keyboard just adds bulk and wont significantly help me txt while driving. The built it wifi is something to think about but the bottom line is, wifi hasnt blossomed here in the philippines yet.
windows mobile 2003 2nd ed's only advantage is the landscape mode.
So, minus the 3 added specs, you basically just have the xda2 on your hand. I think i'd just skip the xda3 and wait for xda5 just in time when my contract expires.

There is a Wi-Fi solution out there for pocket pcs in an SD card... its probably going to cost you around 7k++.
I agree with the MDA or XDA III, the slide out thingy is not good IMO, with its layout/size of keys.

the 7t wifi comes with 256mb memory combo. good deal?
256mb alone cost 2500, and wifi alone would cost around 3500.

For those who have the XDA2 (or are planning on getting one), I suggest this app to help you text with one hand...
Quickey's layout is similar to the dial pad of celphones.
This will become one of the selectable input methods.
Hope this helps.
