why do you al call them tricks and tips while it is rather obvious they are shortcomings on the part of the manufacturer????

Posted by energetic
Because some of them are not mentioned in their product's manual.

Posted by masseur
not always true, for example there are alot of shortcut keys for camera functions to save you going through the menus

I am not sure what you're getting at? Some tricks are 'designed' by users to make life easier on us, the users, but many of them are existing short cuts designed by the manufacturer to make life easier for us, the users

Dont you think then someone should petition SE to include most of them in the manuals..
Of course not all Like service menus as this will void warranty

Posted by Vlammetje
eh? I'm not quit following

Posted by MikLSP
I don't know of any way u can void your warranty from the service menu.

Un;less he's talking about unlocking the phone but that does not really count as 'tip or trick' anymore does it?

Thread starter (i 4got your name),make us clear what you mean.

Yeah where's this thread headed?

Change the title, it's misleading

Posted by BobaFett
I think a trick is a way which isnt known for the public. We all know, how to make a call ( or the most of us ;-) ) so its a known step. But the hidden menu, call listing etc are a bit tricky, not really known.

Please change the title. It's really misleading. I thought i learn here some new tricks, but when I readed your post, then I realised it's just crap.

What phone are you using

I have used Siemens, Motorola, Nokia, XDA and SE.

Listen dear @mosesgath, 99 % of those you see landing in your thread, landed misguided by your title. If you did it by purpose (hope not), it's mean and at least I, am very unhappy about it. In your place I would change the title and drop a short "oops" :-l

@mosesgath

I am somewhat unclear as to why you have started this thread as there doesn't seem to be any form of coherent logic supporting it. I would agree with those who have asked you to change the title of the thread as it is misleading.
I would venture that this thread is exactly the sort of tosh we can do without and which has caused so much debate of late. If you have a genuine question then perhaps you could state it in a way that everyone can understand, even if your English isn't that good you could phrase it better, and if it comes down to it you could always just post in your native language (if it isn't English) and I'm sure some kind fellow will translate for you.
