I get 'server not found error' every time i try and access my yahoo pop3 email account via my SE T630
BT tech support give me a scripted response about e-mail not being currently supported - but surely if the phone supports it and you can access the internet via GPRS then that's all you need?
Appreciate if anyone can help me set this up

For pop3 i believe you have to use a dial up connection. Someone correct me if im wrong.
Have a look at the following thread:
Please help: 'server cannot be found'

of course you don't have to have a dial up connection though that will also work.
when using GPRS then 99.999% of the time when you get this error message its because you are using a GPRS wap data account rather than a GPRS internet data account and these are two separate things.
you generally cannot access POP3 using wap

Thats sorta what i thought but i wasnt sure
Damn i thought i beat you for once
Thanks for clearing that up.

Thanks for that.
I have just e-mailed bt mobile to see if they can enable data apn on my account.

Here is the response:
"BT Mobile does not currently support GPRS only WAP at this present time. The email service is also not currently available."
Seeing as Bt Mobile are using the t-mobile network, does anyone know a way around this?

Any developments?
I've just signed up with BT Mobile and I can certainly access the internet via GPRS. Don't know if that means I can access email, but will try and see what happens.

BT Mobile certainly does support GPRS/WAP. The settings are on the Carphonewarehouse website. Works fine for me (on a T610).
Problem is nobody can tell me how much I will be charged at the end of a month. Well that is if you have difficulty believing 10p a minute or 40p per download!
Is my imagination or is BTM CS staffed by the folks who didn't make the grade at BT Openworld

i called bt today to port my old number to my new phone and asked about gprs, they said they only do wap at the moment but planned to introduce gprs for the internet on mobile in the next few months, yet i have already set it up on my phone using the carphonewarehouse site info and the phone wizard(k700i). it taked a little while to load the first page but then it is very quick.
i dont understand why bt are saying it isn't set up yet

@bizz
Where on the CPW website did you get the settings? Did you use the MMS settings?
