I also rcvd d 2 new mms setngs and its wrkng fine

Posted by berrybianka
@arnold- active na daw e.

Posted by angelikdevil
@berrybianka: try sending "SET MMS" (w/o quotations) or "SET GPRS"(without quotations) only. Lose the "T68".

i.e.
SET GPRS don't use SET GPRS T68

Posted by henryj
@Arnoldc Problem is I have installed it already, so how do I get back to the original configuration.

Posted by GOwin
See first post of this thread

Posted by berrybianka
@angelika- i did dat na. Cald dm up n dey had to modify my gprs. :-D tnx @arnld- duding was fast. Tnx to u :-D

Posted by arnoldc
@berry, yup duding should be very well versed on what to do na. nasanay na sa akin.

@henryj, is it ok na? just SET MMS send to 211, and when the config arrives, DON'T install it.

Posted by berrybianka
@arnold- I haven't touched my mms yet since I sent to 211. You mean I'll have that problem also, I mean for new subscribers? How do I set-up my email? Do I just change smtp.globenet.com.ph tp smtp.smart.com.ph?

Posted by kenski
hi guys, any news yet if SMART's GPRS is still free?ther are rumors kasi na it ends today.(tom. me charge na???) : roll

Posted by angelikdevil
La p bawas saken! So cguro free pa.

Posted by arnoldc
@*, hanggat walang announcement publicly ang smart, it remains free. it's that simple.

Posted by 619
inquirer today... page A12... GPRS FREE until Sept 15, 2002

Posted by berrybianka
@arnold- hw do i set-up email sa phone? Wat do i put in outgoing servr and port?

Posted by arnoldc
@619, if i remember is right the Ad yesterday said, "MMS is FREE up to Sep 15." MMS, not GPRS. which means GPRS will not be charged yet. in my old, old, old post i said next year pa ang GPRS charging. i believe it still is true, unless i will get that special message from Smart...

@berry, use your ISP's SMTP server. it should allow anonymous SMTP (which i highly doubt). if not, use HotPOP's SMTP.

Posted by berrybianka
@arnold- what is hotpop? Where could i get hotpops smtp?

Posted by angelikdevil
@arnold: how much wil smart charg 4 MMS? @bianka: hot pop ofers free POP3 email wid cool domain names. www.hotpop.com

Posted by kenski
hello @arnoldc, are you now able to send and download MMS from SMART?coz I can't download one from SMART since I installed their new settings! What should I do?...tnx

Posted by arnoldc
@kenski, no problem with smart's MMS for me.

Posted by 619
ken and others... i would like to suggest that you join the eb and copy the settings of the smart users who will be joining the EB

Posted by kenski
master arnold ty for the reply, anyway if someone out there is experiencing this problem (can't send and recieve MMS from SMART after installing their new configuration.) just delete your SMART MMS profile and try installing a new one by sending SET MMS to 211..It worked for me!hope this helps

Posted by arnoldc
@kenskie, salamat. may post din si angelikdevil on a workaround (several posts prior) which i confirmed to work din.

Posted by angelikdevil
magkano singil ng smart for MMS?

Posted by arnoldc
@angelikdevil, singil? libre pa din ah.

Posted by angelikdevil
@arnold: sori. Wat i meant was kng magkano sisingilin.

Posted by arnoldc
@angelikdevil, yan ang di ko pa alam masikreto ang marketing ng smart (may paraan, pag nalaman ko post ko agad)

Posted by kenski
I just called up Smart sabi nung cs up to Sept. 15 na lang daw free for both GPRS and MMS!Kabwisit! master Arnolc any comment?

Posted by angelikdevil
hey!

lahat ba kayo may signal pa ng GPRS? kabuwisit! simula kahapon no access ako palagi? Is it because of the rain? help nman o!

Posted by berrybianka
@angelik: had gprs signal yday until this morning but when i left the house nawala na. until now no signal. no use to reboot the phone din

Posted by berrybianka
@arnold-i just set-up my palm Vx for gprs. pero wrong APN lumalabas sa phone when i connect. pero if you look at the palm parang may connection naman but when you try it it's not working. i followed the set-up at mapalad. i used din the SMART PC profile when i connected.

Posted by casperr
Guln naman nila, sabi ko na nga bat kapag nagcharge ang globe sa gprs susunod agad ang smart e

Posted by angelikdevil
Meron n uli me sgnal GPRS. Maybe dahil lng s ulan kya nawala sgnal. Wala p rn b may idea kng magkan0 ssngilin ng smart for MMS? Thanks!

Posted by arnoldc
@berry, check what CID your SmartPC data account has. for example, it has CID=3, then the number to dial is *99***3#

if you followed mapalad instructions as it is, mali yung number to dial nila.

Posted by berrybianka
@arnld-kaya naman pala!:-D super thanks

Posted by arnoldc
Send GPRS ON to 293, cross your fingers if pre-paid... i wish you all luck!

Posted by angelikdevil
I cant access pop3 s fon ko using smart gprs n even mms config. Laging canot connect 2 servr. May filter b ang smart?

Posted by angelikdevil
@arnold:
if i send 'gprs on', will i be billed when i use gprs? thanks.

----------------------------------------------

i think i've just answered my question. I can now only connect to select wapsites! yehey!? Dati i can connect to a lot of sites but when i tried sending gprs on to 293, ung ibang sites na lagi ko pinupuntahan e ayaw na mag connect.

is there a way to turn of gprs? i tried sending gprs off to 293 but lang reply e.

I requested an MMS from Smart 234 but can't retrieve the MMS that they sent. There's a message that goes "Network Communication Error or check your settings" whenever I try to download the MMS. I tried sending an MMS to myself and I can view it naman.

Pls. help me on my MMS settings.

My SmartGPRS is working fine, though. TIA!

Posted by arnoldc
@angelikdevil, put in the DNS IP address as i mentioned in this post. that should solve the problem.

Posted by gtjr
I called *888 its confirmed smart gprs is 50 centavos per kilobyte downlod

Posted by deepsweech
kainis dito sa GH talaga bang walang GPRS signal and Smart dito??? i transferred from Globe kse and globe gprs works fine here. kala ko fone ko ang problem then i tried switching sim with my officemate using GLobe/t68mci nagwork yung gprs nya sa fone ko then yung fone nya using sim ko no GPRS signal so that means sim ko nga. Then tried calling SMART activated na raw and i did all na the config.. bat kaya?

Posted by jocer
@deepsweech
pre mag globe ka na ........ bagal smart diyan
and di pa marunong sumagot ang customer service
paiba iba ang sagot nakakalito
btw prepaid ka ba o postpaid?

Posted by deepsweech
@jocer postpaid po ako formerly G-Mix ako saglobe i transferred sa smart kse cheaper then suddenly they start charging GPRS!!! #$@#$ funny!

@* is there any problem about SMART GPRS today? kse invalid APN daw... so Im using SMART MMS profile and its working naman sofar ... whats the problem with the GPRS profile? i got the GPRS profile from OTA config. is there any changes in the GPRS OTA?

Posted by arnoldc
@deep, i had a gprs session kanina, la naman problema.

Posted by deepsweech
@boss arnold

'called smart csr yesterday and they said there is something wrong with my GPRS account. now its working fine! my only problem now is my pop/smtp im stuck with "finding server" thing my setting was previously working with the Globe Sim, boss arnold! anyone help hehehe.

Posted by deepsweech
@jocer smart is more cheaper than globe, ive compared it. but the only bad news about smart is as you know theyre charging for the GPRS. But! there's no 3K download barrier for WAP =)

Posted by kieboy
@deep - if your MMS and Wap is working fine, then there should be no problem in accessing your email. Just have it connect to smart pc and dont forget to edit the account and put the DNS setting 202.57.96.3. Be sure also that the email settings are correct.

Arnold, i just bought my girlfriend a t68i phone (2 weeks ago). we tried OTA pero ala pa rin siya GPRS signal. Did all the work arounds pero ganun pa rin. Called up smart and advised us to try to connect lang daw, pero ala pa rin. She's on prepaid btw.

Funny thing is, im on prepaid and im using a t65 pero ok GPRS ko.

Any comment? advice? violent reactn?

Thanks!

Posted by arnoldc
@angelikdevil, that's weird. last week my cousin bought a T68, and we were surprised to see the GPRS indicator displayed on his phone using the Smart SIM. so we assumed, all postpaid are now pre-activated with GPRS.

Call *888 again, and tell them to double check everything. If that does not work give me a call.

I didn't read well... you said she's on pre-paid. Argh! I can't help you on that.
