How's everyone been? I was off Esato for a bit, but will be here more regularly from now on...
Just a little anecdote...
I was in the waiting room @ a medical clinic this morning and was minding my own business...then I see a woman sitting across me, probably in her mid to late 30's, making a phone call...using a P800! From the looks of it, she didnt seem to be in the best financial situation, yet she's holding a 1000$ phone! I found it quite amusing, wondering if she knew how to used besides making phone calls... I noticed the stylus was missing, I even thought of offering her mine since I have 2 spare ones @ home, but then my name was called lol
Anyways, keep posting, I'll try to get this forum out of the quiet zone

btw..my friend who works at some cell phone store has somehow managed to be getting in a S700...one that SE is letting him try out and show customers..you know..the whole marketing thing..anyways i get to try it out, should be good

Bugger all!! Grrrrr.... Why oh why does my picture messaging not work? I'm at the point where I'm going to have to just give up trying. I've tried getting help in setting it up on various forums (doesn't work), i've gone to Rogers (they sent me to Pacific Mall - they sent me somewhere else, no help), and now I GIVE UP...... the internet browser works fine, but whenever i try and send a picture it moves the picture to the outbox where it stays FOREVER.... Bah humbug! *sob*sob*sob*
(I'm probably just some phone-incompetent-fool) =)

hmm....my guess is...although i might be wrong heh...is that you might have set the profile that it will use as the wrong one...theres a difference between the internet profile and MMS profile

Some loser asking if the P900 had been discontinued, then when he wasnt satisfied with the answers, he'd start insulting other users and say that they were gonna suffer his wrath or something like that...anyways, totally childish people using any excuse to start flame wars...I mean come on, can there be one online community where people don't have to act like they're still in kidergarten? ESATO used to be that kind of place, but now more and more losers are joining...I even "met" some guy who was on here before on another forum, and he left for this very reason...anyways, I'm not gone yet, but I don't give ESATO as much traffic as I used to...It's always nice to see guys like you who still come here cuz they like cell phones

The "guy" I was reffering to is 'fijbert'...but yeah, I mean, my post count went from like 4 to 250 in maybe 2 months and now, well, I don't come on as much anymore...not that I dislike SE, but when you have to try and talk some sense into some guy that's on the other side of the world in an internet café with a t226 and says the little things that ticks off the regulars on this site, I just don't think it's worth it, you know? I'm sure you guys can relate and have seen it happen the same way I did.
I've "met" some great people on here...just to name a few, bobbafett, danberte, you guys, mixin, orangeman/wapchimp, Bianca, and I'm probably forgetting some...unfortunately, as in a lot of different things in life, the bad things often overshadow the good ones...
BUT, if more nice people like you guys come talk to me here, I might just have to drop in more often

hey all....i just went to the sony ericsson booth in erin mills and here all the pics of the s710a that i took....i also found out that i missed the actual s700 by a few hours as some one had brought it in...and the p910 had just been taken away by someone as the booth is closing tmrw

Anyways scots, the biggest market share in canada is still Bell Mobility, and they exploit TDMA technology (check this bobbafett thread: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=60879) actually, you must know it, you were the last one who posted there
Anyhow, for GSM, it is kinda like the states, as Rogers uses the 850Mhz band...and Fido, the 1900...anyways, we're always late on anything new when it comes to GSM, and nicer phones are often too pricy for the average consumer...most handsets are branded and sim-locked...it pretty much sucks dude...

Yes, K700 firmware can be updated at home using dss-20 or dss-25. But if you have customized firmware from your provider, then new version may not be available for it.
The 2 GSM providers have not been amalgamated yet. There is an offer on the table. The purchase, if approved by shareholders and the government(2 agencies: Competition Bureau, Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission), won't be complete for at least 3 months.
