Well of course the service menu still works >*<<*<*

Is it possible to turn on backlight when the clock is on?

Posted by darrengf
I have been reading all the reviews for the last 2 months or so for the k700 and its won me over, although i have t610 / t68i so it didnt take much to convince me.

One question i have to ask. The SMS tone. Can this be changed to anything you want, or do you still have to rubbish preset ones like the t610?

otherwise i cant wait for mine. thats when orange brings it out. (28th June is the latest date?)

Great reveiews too, well done

The SMS tones are the same as for the T610 and you can only use them, not any other sounds.

Like in T610!

Posted by AntonisCy
is there a way to pause the tone while someone is calling , without rejecting the call ?

Posted by masseur
yes, just the same as previous phones

press the volume switch on the side and it will stop both the vibrate and the ringtone but it will not reject the call

You can also use the C button.

I found a bug on k700i. It is not possible to delete a member of a group (Phonebook / Options / Groups). If you accidentally add somebody, you can only delete the whole group and create it again. Silly.

BTW does anybody know how to copy a game from a phone to my PC?

Posted by meeezz
Everthing about this K700i is almost perfect, they have upgraded the caller list showing date and time of callers, speed dialing, creating folders to store your pictures... etc, better screen resolutions with camera settings, backlighting, faster steps in sending sms, the only setback is the sms tone... still gotta stick to the default ones! anyway I am still proud to own this phone.

A 2-day user here, having read the manual twice and spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to find this out:

Is there a trick to attaching the wrist strap that came with the phone? It's too funny, I cannot see anywhere to loop it through... [Edit: Bah! I didn't think the answer would be in the user review thread.. here's the picture http://www.esato.com/board/img.php?id=5370 ]

I'd also prefer to be able to switch off the photo sound other than using the meeting profile. I use the outdoor profile due to the nature of work (noisy, not so much outdoors!) and would prefer to edit that.

Thanks!

Just a little note, on my K700, when you turn the phone on to silent, the camera shutter sound goes silent. No need for the meeting profile.

Mines a UK K700.

That's strange because all the K700 I have tried can only mute the camera sound by using the meeting profile!

Anyway, remember that the meeting profile can always be altered to fit your needs. I, for example, renamed it to "Mute" and changed all other settings to be silent. That profile now not only mutes the camera, it mutes the phone completely. Then I renamed another profile to "Meeting" and configured that as the original meeting profile was. So now when I want to make the phone totally silent (even when taking pictures) I choose the profile "Mute".

Strangely, even though on silent my K700 doesnt make the camera shutter sound when you take a picture, the games still make sounds, especially the tennis game which has music. Odd.

Posted by GothTeddy
try just setting ringer volune to 0...

regardless of silent mode, setting the ringer to 0 mutes the shutter.

Pressing # and * at the same time brings up the screensaver.
Pressing 7 and 9 brings up 9p for some odd reason.

Just a small tip here: from the standby screen, if you hold down one of the letter keys then the phonebook will open at the first entry of that letter. i.e. on mine if I hold down the number 7 key the phonebook opens at a friend of mine called "Paul .....".
Sorry if this is an old one, this is the first SE phone I have owned, last phone was a Sony Z5 (yes it is bloody old).

just a question is the clock screensaver available on this phone as it was really usefull on my T300

Posted by masseur
I'm not sure how many times I have written this in the last 2 weeks but...

settings, display, light, automatic

Posted by craggsy
yer thanks i was out walkin the dog and i was fidling about and got it

I got a uk k700 but no strap??? My P900 one has saved the phone many a time... Just managed to grab the strap before it fell off my lap...
I've checked thro the box and there's nothing? Anyone know where i can get one??
Burgaz

Posted by etaab
Just buy a strap from your local camera shop, or down your local market where theres always a mobile phone stall that has England straps for about 50p or £2 for neckstraps.

This message was posted from a T610

How do you use this to unlock you phone?

Posted by GodsGift
Hey guys am I the only stooopid one who can't work out where the strap attaches on the K700i ????

there is no loop as such for it to go round ?

Posted by masseur
I posted this in my review thread

look at the bottom of the phone and you see two little holes

then take the back cover off and see where those two holes are and wrap the strap around that

Posted by GodsGift
Gosh darn. I saw that in the review aswell !!!

D'oh !

Posted by ZerO
I would strongly recomend against puting the strap as it is quite lose. Mine had a tendency to just rip out

Posted by Chloura
I've just noticed a random menu on the K700i.

If you press # and then the CAMERA button, you get a little sub-menu that lets you Save, Hide or Show Number.

Hm.

When in the Media Player you can whilst playing a movie or mp3 press
"1" for time remaining and "2" for time currently played...

Have a nice day!

To read txt files in the k700:

1 - send the txt file to your k700

2 - it will be place in the "others" folder

3 - if you click "open", naturally it won“t

4 - click in send + by mms

5 - it will open all the txt file in a mms window - now you can read the text!!!!

Thankx to calvin_wat from http://www.todox700.com for the trick

when i hold # and press the camera button, it goes silent mode

the # key has a little lock...but hitting the old combo to lock keys on my T610 don't lock the keys

Download your language manual from SE homepage support section !
Keylock... you can set it to automatic, or if you prefere set it manually... press * and then right soft menu key e.g. button on right side on the joystick. To unlock same ritual is needed.

Does anyone know how to turn on the backlight with out using the camera?????

Posted by joebmc
No need to hold down # and press the camera button, just hold down the # key or c key!

Posted by scotsboyuk
@joebmc

The idea behind pressing # and then the camera button was that it would bring up a menu, not turn on silent mode.

Pressing * usually works for me.

Posted by SONY-E FREAK
how do you type in the service code >*<<*<*
as the keyboard on the telefoon doesn't have any < >

@ ettab : Are you saying that if you press * the backlight (flash of the camera) works? Maybe my mistake... It is not the backlight in the LCD screen it's the flash camera light. Is there a way or shortcut to that??!!!!
