Can not disconnect from internet

Hi, after many hours struggling to get my P900 gprs data account to work correctly and setting up my pop3 email account and agilemessenger I am now unable to stop my phone from constantly trying to connect to the internet. My pop3 account is not scheduled to download (I want to manually get & send) so I don't think that is making it connect. Everytime it does connect it says that it sends and recieves 2 - 5 kb which I am worried will add up. Also, I am unable to recieve calls when it is connected. I am pretty sure this is a stupid setting that I missed but any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using cingular as my provider if that matters.
