Hi guys.. Since the server with the pics to the first guide on how to take the t610 apart crashed, I made a new one.. hope it's good... !!! USE THIS GUIDE ON YOUR OWN RISK. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGED PHONES!!!
1: Remove the battery cover
2: Lift here and here with your fingernails or something that's made out of hard plast.... I don't use metal things because I don't wanna damage the cover:
3: Push the cover away from you:
4: Lift up here carefully till you hear a little click and then simply remove the green part ( antenna), but be careful
5: Remove the 4 torx screws.. For this you'll need an T6 screwdriver:
6: Now use your fingernails or a thin plastic thing and slide it in between the cover and the white part.. Move it all the way up untill the cover goes off.. Be careful and don't stick it to far inside. When the cover is off on one side just take it carefully of:
7: There you go...:

Thanks for that, I'm just about to recieve a T610 that will need either it's screen plugging back in or a replacement one buying, and I'd forgotton how to take the black aerial cover off!
One other thing as well, make sure you don't get any fingermarks on the inside of the front of the facia - or you'll be taking the whole thing apart again to get rid of the offending fingermark!

@sammy: yeah, I know.. got fingermarks on the inside ones and f***ed upp the whole screen

here a little addition to the thread.
I did this on my one month holiday to italy, I had done it loads of times before, but sadly this time the microphone died
Sorry about the size of the picture
Could somebody please confirm that the little rubber thing next to where the sim card goes, on the "skeleton" (white piece) of the phone, is actually the microphone.

wow, this tutorial would have been really useful about 6 or months ago when I wanted ro repair my damaged T616. I never quite figured out how to get that antenna cover off though.

I always thought that little thing was a battery?

dude the pics arnt comin up. my on button is jammed down and i cant get it to turn on

Wow thanks! My mic was f*cked up. The inside was really dusty and after some blowing en pushing with a screwdriver I managed to get rid of most of the dust. Think the dust got between the mic and the two circles thing, so the signal was bad. Now I'm back up!

here's my t610
after high speed encounter with a wall (insides working in a new case)

ncie tututorial, but it's never a good idea to take apart your phone unless you know what ur doing, there are always things attached to the outside cover when it's not supposed to be cahnged

Learnt it alright. But i wish such a situation never arise to me.

baja462, ah try and stop me
I've pulled apart every phone I've ever owned (and quite a few I didn't own). Never had any problems, infact fix them often...

i tried removing the case...
and i was wondering....
what does the infrared port look like? there isnt anything inside the gap of where it is. i wasnt sure if i lost it...ahaha
Posted by goldenface
The plastic at the top end of the phone is thinner and this is where the IR port is.

Tough Phones these T610's ey, But I am spewing, I broke the freakn screen so now it might cost me $70 (AU) to repair it,. I still cant take off the top back cover, I am paranoid of braking it, hehe

Great guide solved a big problem the top piece a the rear of the phone does come off easier if you remove the silver lense cover first it pulls off

Thanks for the tutorial. I took my t616 apart after I dropped it and it wouldn't charge anymore. Figuring I had nothing to loose by opening it up, I took it apart and found that a little piece of dirt (I guess) had wedged it self between the charging contacts inside the phone. I Scrapped it clean with an X-Acto knife, put the phone back together and now it works like a charm. Saved myself a couple of $100.-
I really appreciatte the clear tutorial, I had in the past tried to open it up to get some dust out from under the screen, but couldn't figure out how to do it.
