looks good, especially if the graphics shown are how good they will be. Does it have any way to connect to the PS2 to be part of a PS2 game in the same way that the GBA is to the gamecube, so that stats etc can be transferred.

Well. One good thing is that the 8 cm dvd disk can be taken out of the cover, copied, cracked, and then put into a new case. Piracy rulez (or pay 70 for each game)

You could say the psp does movies and stuff, but it's not a standard format, and no one wants to be messing about with pc's putting movies on it.

That would be a huge minority. It just seems like It's not because this is an SE/mobile related site. Sony's core audience is the casual gamer, the casual gamer most definitely doesn't want to fart about on a pc(if they even have one) with a usb cable or whatever for an hour just to watch a film.

That looks so nice. The screen looks huge. Compared to the Nintendo DS this looks really expensive. The DS that was shown has to be a prototype as it looks so unproffesionally designed.

Yeah steve, nintendo have said they still haven't finished the final form of the ds. That one was playable at e3 though.

i like the gloss highlights for the black one. I can see the magic gate logo does this thing use memory sticks that would make it even more cool

any way looks as though its some sort of touch screen display you can see a stylus and memory stick duo in the background

give it some internal memory and some office apps i.e. contacts and word processor and maybe excell throw in a touch screen and add a GSM module you got yourself a p900 beater.
looks as thoughsony will release a kit like this past the £300 quid makr which means a load of kids wont have one so i may get my self one its not a protbale games machine its a portable media centre. hats off to sony they pulled off another belter.

Interesting fact about the PSP, it wasn't actaully playable at E3, and the discs wern't removable either. It was nothing but a demonstration unit.
The DS on the other hand was fully functional.........
Shows how far away the PSP prolly is, and more than likely it will have features dropped like I've been saying for ages.

Anyone got a PSX? I heard that they had been released in Japan. That is another console that was going to have so many features, but many were lost before production. Hope PSP doesn't go the same way.

Not that it matters, all that matters is the PSP is still not finished internally, and Sony are churning out screenshot after screenshot of non playable games. People still seem to be under the impression the PSP is a PS2 in your pocket, it's not. It's a an enhanced PS1.
Also, the DS will be running at 60 frames per second, faster that the N64.

but ps2 & Xbox have better quality everthing (i.e. processing power, graphics). Nintendo... its had its time (snes + nes) but now theres not much need for it.

there is no doubt that sony will sell more because they are a much larger company and therefore can advertise more. However, their products are always soooo expensive, thats why i never get them. i have always got nintendos because they are cheap but still good quality. I think nintendo would definately sell more than sony if only they could advertise as much as them

personally i prefer the ds even though it looks like crap. However i hope that one day sony will take over sonyericsson in developing a model again (like it did for the s700) only this time for the gamez. oh yeah i can definetly see it happenin!!!!
