Try http://www.hotpop.com/ for a free POP3 account.

The e-mail setup should be fairly self-explanatory. What part are you stuck at? Are you going to be accessing the mailbox over GPRS? or CSD(dial up)? There have been a lot of discussions about the different between "Internet" access points and "WAP" access points. Generally speaking, only an "Internet" access point will allow you access to a POP3 mailbox. This, you may have to pay extra for, or it may be reserved for contract users, depending on your network.

I don't have your particular phone so I am doing this from the menu structure on the T610, but the menus should be similar.

>Goto the main menu
>Select "Messaging"
>Select "E-Mail"
>Select "Options"
>Select "Edit Account"
>Select "New Acount"
>Give it a name and press OK
>Select "Connect Using" and choose your GPRS access point
>Select "Protocol" and make sure POP3 is selected
>Select "Incoming Server" and enter the address of the POP3 server (get this from your e-mail provider), e.g. mail.mydomain.com
>Select "Incoming Port", this should be 110 for POP3
>Select "Mailbox" and enter your mailbox name, this is probably going to be your username with the POP3 provider.
>Select "Password" and enter your mailbox password.
>Select "Outgoing Server" and enter the address of the SMTP server (get this from your e-mail provider), e.g. smtp.mydomain.com
>Select "Outgoing Port", this should be 25 for SMTP
>Select "E-Mail Address" and enter your e-mail address, e.g. me@mydomain.com.
>Select "Download". Choose "Headers & Text" if you want the system to download messages, choose "Headers" if you want to save a bit of money by only getting it to download the headers (sender, subject etc.)
>Select "From Name" and enter your name
>Select "Signature" and leave it at "No Signature" unless you have a business card configured that you want to append to all outgoing messages.
>Select "Copy Outgoing" and set it to "On" if you want all outgoing messages to be CCd to another address.
>Select "Check Interval" and set it to "Off" unless you want the phone to check for e-mail every x minutes/hours.
>Press "Save", then back up until you get back to the "E-Mail" menu.
>Try "Send & Recieve" and see if it works!

1. make sure that you have activated GPRS, you are using Sun am I right?
2. Configure the data accounts, normally one for internet access and one for WAP access is provided, consult Sun.

then you can make the settings as jonat suggested.
