They work for my Z1010, but they're kind of screwed up and some pictures are cut in half. Weird.

the only theme that works with the z1010 is the scarface theme the rest are for the k700 so thats why they won't work with the z1010

As taken from another thread:
K700 is the generic name for the handset.
C stands for CHINA > K700c for China.
I stands for INTERNATIONAL > K700i for anywhere other than China.

I'd like to thank Superduperluminova for a great K700 animated theme he had done for me
I've been using the T610/T630/Z600 stargate theme from here and wanted one for my K700 and Superluminova was up to the challenge. here are a few pics
The standby screenis animated in that a red light moves around the stargate.

Thanks guys hopefully i'll have time to make more theme over the summer
so watch this space, and thanks to masseur for setting me the goal of making an animated theme and also for making the screen-shots.

I've got my K700i now, and I've set up GPRS. I don't have my bluetooth dongle yet so I can't transfer files to my phone. Is there a way I could host them and then download them through WAP to my phone?

Assuming that you have the Sony Ericsson Themes Creator 1.31, it's exactly the same as you would make a non animated theme. The only animated part is the standby screen if you want it, it supports animated .gif files which you can either get off the net or you can make using a program like ImageReady or Animation Shop 3 or SWiSH v2.0.

COOL! I tried the Stargate theme for k700 on my Z1010 the other day and also tried to make a animated theme myself but it did not move when uploaded to the phone.. that was with firmware R1C.. today i updated firmware to R1G007 and guess what.. now animated themes work on Z1010!!!!!! yess!!!
kickass, lets make some animated themes for Z1010!
note: on R1C it worked to load the anigif as a background but not embeded in a theme..

What's the difference between K700 & Z1010 themes?
I haven't got the latest version of the theme creator so it doesn't have K700 but if I make them for Z1010 they work fine on the K7

Actually the Z1010 is more "compact" and although both phones have the same screen resolution, the wallpaper is 7-8 pixels larger, titles are 6-7 pixels shorter, etc etc. So it won't work at all with the K700. (haven't tried actually. the theme editor "reccomends" -as in doesn't limit to- that we use the 176x176 for wallpaper or 176x18 for standby etc etc. don't know what will happen if you upload a theme with the wrong dimensions)
