Today i was walking down the road, crossed the road, and bam, i got busted for j-walking
And me and my friend were going to get a ticket. The cop whipped out his palm pilot, and used that to give us our tickets. Then he whipped out a small printer, and printed our tickets, with no wires! So i was like, hmm, bluetooth! So i searched and found 'pocket pc' so i made a note that said 'hello cop, this is stupid' and sent it. He got it then looked confused and me and my friend started laughing, he asked if...

Posted by EastCoastStar
He asked if it was us, and we told him the truth. He
Asked how we did it, so i said watch, and took a pic of his motorcycle and sent it, and he laughed and said if we tought him how to do that, we wouldnt get our tickets, sn then he showed me he also had a t610, so i showed him, he laughed and said he was going to have fun with it, thanked us, then told us we better not j-walk again, laughed, hopped on his motorcycle and left smiling.
Im glad i got a nice cop with a good sence of humor!
Haha:-)

that's awesome! unfortunately, i have gelfen's experience with cops too. i think most of the ones here are too dumb to use BT, but i will defeinely bluejack more around cruisers and such, just in case!

whats j-walking??? does it mean walking along with a joint? Shame speed cameras dont have bluetooth...

Posted by gelfen
j-walking, or more correctly jaywalking, means to cross a street illegally or in a reckless manner. this usually involves rossing the street in the middle of the block where there is no pedestrian crossing, or diagonally or against a light and technically illegal.

"jay" was once a word used to describe a silly person, so the implication is that jaywalking is done by stupid people because it is dangerous.

thanks. sounds like englands going the 'american way' when it comes to enforcement of the law. our traffic wardens have been given more power... going to try bluejacking there parking ticket machines. i think their handhelds are symbian os powered, mmm......

Posted by mixin
but at least traffic wardens or cops dont give us tickets for crossing the road in the uk

think you might be out of luck bluejacking parking control officers...

NETA WKi is a two piece unit comprising of the Psion Workabout utilising IRdA communication with the Seiko DPU3445 Thermal Printer producing a 112mm ticket at 50mm/sec.

I suppose you could try IRjacking the printer if you can get close enough

need an ir booster or ir v2 with 100m range... ;-) if i could keep sending data till the paper runs out! lol!

nice story:D Good way to get out of tickets!

Well, now I'll have to drive to the police station and see if I get lucky enough to get some connection. If by chance I do, I'll probably send something stupid like "Pay back time for that ticket fool" who knows, it may be fun. So far 0 counts on Blue Jacking anyone.

be careful doing it outside a police station. you could be committing an offence like, interfereing with police business...! try phone shops the staff always name there phones....

I thought it was awesome
I BJ cell phone stands all the time, its not alwyas as fun, but its still the easiest place to do it. They usually know whats going on, the best time is when they dont know whats goin on. If they dont know whats going on, they probobly use a Nokia haha

revenge... i do not recommend this as it could be deemed illegal. On saturday, i was out shopping, and was parked in a pay and display, i paid, and got back in the car. then i noticed a traffic warden checking the cars, he stopped at the car next to me. it had run out of time and got his ticket machine out, then i remembered about thread... so when he pulled his ticket machine and ir printer, i tryed ir-jacking it. i tryed to send 'go get a proper job' done it a couple of times and it said sent! not sure if it recognised the format, as i didnt see if it printed anything... but it was fun trying.....!

Since most cops in the US have cells, I need to remember to try to BJ one if I get pulled over. Problem is, I rarely get pulled over. Houston has too many REALLY crazy drivers for the cops to worry about!
Definitely too

Ive only jacked Outside Phones4U and Megabowl. Im going to try it with a cop soon but you only see them in mostly.

Wat is j-walking? Sorry i havent heard of it.

I think, in parts of America, if you dont cross using the traffic light. If you cross the road and your not using a crossing(pelican, zebra or traffic lights) then youre j-walking. Correct me if im wrong
